Kidnapping the Female Teacher's Best Friend - Chapter 35
Chapter 35
At 1:30 PM on Saturday, Mo Zibei put on her backpack, went downstairs, and cycled to Mu Hanxi’s place.
Although it was nearing October, the weather was still hot.
By the time she reached the residential area, the vest under Mo Zibei’s clothing was damp with sweat. Beads of sweat slowly slid down her cheeks, and she was parched. She subconsciously licked her lips, thinking she needed to buy something cold to relieve the heat.
Mo Zibei walked to the supermarket in the residential area with her backpack and bought two boxes of ice cream.
She used to love eating this when she was little, but since it was too cold and too sweet, Father Mo always controlled her intake. Over time, she ate it less, so today was a whim.
She walked out of the elevator, holding the two boxes of ice cream, and pressed Mu Hanxi’s doorbell.
Mu Hanxi had taken a phone call at noon and translated a document, and had just lied down for less than fifteen minutes when the doorbell rang outside.
She groggily opened her eyes, lifted her wrist to check the time. It was past two, so the person outside was probably Mo Zibei. She fumbled for the blue hair tie, casually tied her hair up, and went to open the door for Mo Zibei, shuffling in her slippers.
After pressing the doorbell twice, Mo Zibei waited patiently outside. The moment the door opened, seeing the person instantly froze her. The scene was too tempting… She subconsciously swallowed, her gaze first gliding over Mu Hanxi’s pale, smooth, beautifully curved swan neck, then inch by inch moving down, passing over the full roundness, the tight, slender waist, and finally stopping at the two long, bony, delicate legs. The legs were blindingly white. This was the first time she had seen Mu Hanxi wearing shorts… Her heart pounded rapidly, as if an accelerator had been installed, suddenly expanding and contracting rapidly. Hot blood surged and churned inside her. Mo Zibei bit down on her lower lip, trying hard to restrain herself…
Mu Hanxi hadn’t gotten enough sleep, and her consciousness was not very clear. She didn’t notice Mo Zibei’s unusual scrutiny or her expression of forbearance at all. She spoke tiredly, “Go sit on the sofa for a bit, I’m going to wash my face.” Because she had just woken up, her voice carried a hint of hoarseness, but also a touch of sexiness.
The intense visual impact and seductive auditory stimulation made Mo Zibei’s face hot, her ears burning, and her throat dry and itchy. She couldn’t open her mouth to answer her… She gripped the outside of the ice cream boxes tightly and nodded slightly.
“I’ll be ready very soon.” Mu Hanxi reached out and gently patted her shoulder.
Mo Zibei blushed, hummed, and lowered her head to change her slippers.
Mu Hanxi turned and went to the bathroom inside. Mo Zibei went to the sofa in the living room. She sat back on the sofa, cocking her ears, paying close attention to Mu Hanxi’s movements.
Hearing the sound of the bathroom door closing, and confirming that Mu Hanxi wouldn’t be coming out for a while, Mo Zibei confidently placed the two boxes of ice cream against both sides of her cheeks.
God, her face was too hot! Fortunately, she bought this cold treat today, which could provide quick physical cooling.
By the time Mu Hanxi washed her face and changed clothes and came out, Mo Zibei had adjusted her state and was sitting there naturally, eating ice cream. She had also turned on the TV, playing a Miyazaki animation, occasionally looking up at it.
Mu Hanxi walked over and sat down beside her.
Mo Zibei continued to stare at the TV screen, scooped a spoonful of ice cream, put it in her mouth, and savored it slowly.
“Sister Mu,” she slowly moved her gaze away from the screen, “Do you want some ice cream?” In fact, Mo Zibei had noticed Mu Hanxi sitting down right away, but the moment she smelled the faint, clean fragrance on her, the hot scene from when she first walked in unconsciously flashed in her mind…
“You eat it. I haven’t eaten these things in a long time.”
“Mhm, are you sensitive to cold?” Many girls are afraid of cold things, which is understandable.
Mu Hanxi gently bit her lip, her face slightly red, “I’m afraid of getting fat.”
Mo Zibei looked her up and down, asking with a smile, “Sister Mu, are you joking?”
“I’m not joking,” Mu Hanxi reached out and poked her forehead, “Eating sweets makes me gain weight easily.”
“Oh.” Mo Zibei recalled that last time Mu Hanxi bought milk tea for the three of them, she didn’t buy one for herself. Usually, this person drank warm water and was rarely seen drinking cold beverages.
Mo Zibei tossed the empty ice cream box she had finished into the nearby trash can and reached for the other box on the coffee table.
Mu Hanxi reached out and held her arm, “Don’t eat so many cold things, it’s not good for your health.”
“I… I’m not sensitive to cold.” Drinking hot milk at home was for her dad’s sake. Outside, she liked to drink cold things…
Mu Hanxi was a little helpless, “Then I’ll eat it with you.”
“Huh?” Mo Zibei was startled at first, then firmly refused, “No need.”
“You don’t want me to try it?”
Mo Zibei asked thoughtfully, “Can you eat cold things?” Some girls are very sensitive to cold things, which can cause stomach discomfort and painful menstruation…
“A little bit is fine.”
Mo Zibei asked again, “Are you worried that eating too many cold things will upset my stomach, or do you also want to eat some?”
Mu Hanxi paused, then smiled and said, “Both.”
“Does the former account for a larger portion?”
Mu Hanxi nodded honestly.
Mo Zibei shook her head and smiled, “Then forget it. I won’t eat this one now. I’ll leave it here with you, and I’ll eat it next time I come.” After shaking her head and smiling, she realized a problem: she had planned to smile at Mu Hanxi the next time she saw her, but as soon as she walked in, she was mesmerized and completely forgot about it.
“Sister Mu.”
Mu Hanxi looked at her upon hearing her voice.
Mo Zibei gave her a brilliant smile, “I’ll put this in the fridge for now.”
“Go ahead.” This person was genuinely beautiful when she smiled, and her two small canine teeth were especially cute. Mu Hanxi really liked the way she smiled.
Mo Zibei stood up, holding the box of ice cream, and walked toward the refrigerator.
Halfway there, she suddenly turned back, walked around the sofa, and stood in front of Mu Hanxi.
Mu Hanxi looked up at her, puzzled, “What is it?”
“I thought about it,” she slightly bent down, scooped a spoonful of ice cream, and brought it to Mu Hanxi’s lips, “I should let Sister Mu try a bite first.”
Mu Hanxi was a little amused; she wasn’t a child to crave this… Seeing Mo Zibei holding the spoon and looking at her, her eyes full of expectation, she subconsciously leaned down and took the ice cream into her mouth.
“Is it delicious?” Mo Zibei thoroughly enjoyed the feeling of feeding Mu Hanxi. For her, it was happier than winning the lottery.
“It’s alright.” Sweet, cold, and smooth. It felt quite good after not having this kind of thing for a long time.
Mo Zibei straightened up, smiled with narrowed eyes, and went to the refrigerator.
After returning, Mo Zibei turned off the TV, took her backpack, and followed Mu Hanxi to the bedroom.
Today’s tutoring officially began.
Mu Hanxi taught diligently, and Mo Zibei learned attentively. Except for a few breaks in between, the rest of the time was spent tutoring. This continued until seven in the evening.
After the second lesson, all the English phonetic symbols had been taught. From now on, as long as Mo Zibei dedicated more time to practice and consolidation, she would fully master these symbols.
Mu Hanxi’s eyes softened with pleasure, and Mo Zibei’s face also beamed with the joy of accomplishment. She even praised her, “If I had met an English teacher like Sister Mu earlier, I would have mastered the phonetic symbols a long time ago.”
Mu Hanxi smiled and reached out to poke her nose, “Your words are quite sweet.”
Mo Zibei touched her slightly itchy nose, saying shyly, “That’s my honest feeling.”
Mu Hanxi felt a bit shy to respond and asked instead, “What do you want to eat for dinner?”
Understanding that she meant to invite her to stay for dinner, Mo Zibei’s soaring spirits were hard to contain, and her voice carried a hint of pleasure, “Whatever Sister Mu makes, I’ll eat.”
Mu Hanxi smiled sweetly, then deliberately teased her, “You better think hard, or you won’t have anything to eat tonight.”
Mo Zibei immediately sobered up and began to seriously contemplate the question.
Mu Hanxi found her serious thinking expression quite interesting and watched her while peeling an orange beside her.
Mo Zibei suddenly extended her right hand towards her, looking at her eyes.
Mu Hanxi naturally gave her a segment of the orange, asking, “Have you figured it out?”
Mo Zibei first put the orange segment in her mouth. As her canine teeth gently bit into it, the juice filled her mouth. It was quite sweet. “I figured out a crucial question.”
“What is it?”
“Do we have ingredients at home, or do we need to go buy them at the supermarket later?” Mo Zibei used the term ‘our home’, but Mu Hanxi didn’t find anything unusual about it.
“I went out to buy groceries this morning.”
That meant they had ingredients readily available. Mo Zibei nodded and asked, “Do we have clams at home?”
Mu Hanxi nodded, smiling knowingly, “When you were practicing the phonetic symbols by yourself just now, I went out and put the clams into a basin of clear water to spit out sand,” she lifted her wrist and checked the time, calculating the time, “They should be clean now.”
“Sister Mu,” Mo Zibei reached out to her again, asking for an orange, “You clearly already figured out what to make for dinner…”
“No, I only thought of this one thing.” Mu Hanxi smoothly gave her another orange segment.
She only thought of this one thing, and it’s the same thing I thought of. Is this what they call tacit understanding? Mo Zibei curved her lips into a smile, then stood up, “I’ll go see what you bought.”
“Mhm.” Mu Hanxi followed her, eating an orange segment.
Mo Zibei looked through the kitchen and the refrigerator, then turned back to Mu Hanxi, smiling, “I’ve thought of it, let’s have chicken stewed with mushrooms.”
“We can do that. And what else?”
“One chicken stew with mushrooms, one stir-fried clams. Two dishes. I think that’s enough to eat.”
“That works too.” Mu Hanxi understood what she meant—not wanting to waste food, only cooking as much as they would eat.
The two went into the kitchen. Mo Zibei helped her as a sous-chef, and Mu Hanxi took charge of the cooking. They worked together seamlessly. Around eight o’clock, the dishes were ready, and they had also steamed rice.
Mo Zibei dished the food onto plates and brought them to the table. Mu Hanxi took off her apron and went to the balcony.
Mo Zibei was serving rice when she suddenly remembered Mu Hanxi had left quite a bit of rice in her bowl the last time they ate together. This person had a small appetite. She shouted toward the balcony, “Sister Mu, can you finish one bowl of rice?”
“Serve a little less.”
“Got it.” Mo Zibei served her about an eight-tenths portion.
The rice was ready just as Mu Hanxi returned.
The two sat down face-to-face.
Mo Zibei picked up a piece of chicken and shoveled a couple of bites of rice, “This rice is steamed so fragrant, soft and glutinous. It’s tastier than what they sell outside.”
“This rice was bought by my second sister. She brought me a bag a couple of days ago.”
“Your second sister is very kind to you.”
Mu Hanxi hummed and added, “My eldest sister is also very nice. You’ll like her too when you meet her later.”
Mo Zibei lowered her head, eating rice, silently savoring the word “later” that Mu Hanxi used.
“The National Day holiday is coming soon,” after finishing her meal, Mo Zibei took a sip of water. Both remained seated, still facing each other. “What are your plans for the National Day, Sister Mu?”
“I’ve already bought my ticket in advance. I’m going home for the National Day.”
“Oh.”
“I came here only a few days after returning to the country, and my parents miss me very much.”
“Mhm.”
“What about you? What are your plans?”
“Me?” Mo Zibei stared into her eyes, answering seriously, “I want to use the holiday to study English well.”
Mu Hanxi smiled gently, “Then your Teacher Lin will be pleased again.”
Mo Zibei shook the glass cup in her hand. The water rippled along the glass wall.
“Won’t you feel pleased?”
Mu Hanxi paused, slightly surprised by her sudden question.
“Speaking of which, you also taught me English.”
“Mhm,” Mu Hanxi’s eyes curved in a smile, “I will feel pleased too.”
Mo Zibei looked down at the tabletop, “Sister Mu, you haven’t forgotten, have you…”
“What?”
“If I pass the English exam, you’ll give me a gift.”
“I haven’t forgotten.” Mu Hanxi had even figured out what she wanted to give her.
“Can the gift be chosen by me?”
Mu Hanxi looked slightly surprised, then nodded, “Yes.”
Mo Zibei clinked her glass cup against Mu Hanxi’s white porcelain cup, “Then it’s a promise!”
Mu Hanxi was about to smile when she heard her add, “Let’s pinky swear.”
“Hmm?”
Mo Zibei extended her right hand towards her, making the pinky swear gesture.
“Mo Zibei, you are so childish.” Her tone was one of gentle chiding.
“Mhm.” Mo Zibei’s face was red, but her hand remained outstretched.
Mu Hanxi put down her white porcelain cup and reached out her hand.
Mo Zibei hooked her little finger, “No take-backs.”
Mu Hanxi affirmed with an “Mhm.”
