Kidnapping the Female Teacher's Best Friend - Chapter 22
Chapter 22
Mo Zibei stood in place for a moment, waiting for the heat and blush on her face to subside before finding Meng Yuanhao and Zhou Ruoxin.
“I just called home. Uncle Mo hasn’t gone back yet,” Zhou Ruoxin asked cautiously as the three walked downstairs. “Do you want to come to my place first?”
Mo Zibei nodded in agreement.
Mo Father and Zhou Father finished their drinks, then went to the study for tea and chess, not finishing until after ten o’clock at night.
During this time, Mo Zibei stayed in Zhou Ruoxin’s bedroom, and the two of them worked on homework together.
During a break, Zhou Ruoxin went out and washed two apples. While Mo Zibei was crunching on an apple, her eyes were still fixed on a grammar book.
Zhou Ruoxin turned her head and glanced at it: “Newly bought?”
“Mhm.”
Zhou Ruoxin sat upright, her mind drifting for two seconds, then asked: “My mom said you found an older sister to tutor you?”
Mo Zibei paused her action of turning the page, then slowly replied: “Yeah. My English foundation is weak, and finding someone for tutoring is more efficient.”
Zhou Ruoxin wanted to ask more, but Mo Zibei excused herself to go to the bathroom and left the unfinished apple in the fruit plate.
When she returned, she said she wanted to watch the chess match for a while, so she took the remaining half-apple and went to the study.
The topic ended there, and Zhou Ruoxin didn’t find another opportunity to ask.
After returning from Zhou Ruoxin’s house, Mo Zibei had a shower and dried her hair, and it was nearly midnight. Despite the late hour, Mo Zibei didn’t go to sleep. She sat at her desk and studied English for over an hour, finally getting into bed at one o’clock in the morning.
Lying in bed, Mo Zibei couldn’t help but recall Mu Hanxi complimenting her cuteness on WeChat. The more she thought about it, the happier she became. Finally, she made an effort to suppress her excitement, closed her eyes, and slowly drifted off to sleep.
On Monday during the long break, after running the morning exercises, Mo Zibei and Qu Junzhi went directly to the field. Their third period was P.E. class.
Therefore, Mo Zibei was unaware of the trouble Zhou Ruoxin was facing.
After the morning exercises ended, Zhou Ruoxin returned to the classroom to get her cup and went to the water room to fetch water, where she happened to run into Liu Yang, Meng Yuanhao’s deskmate. This hoodlum stood with his hands in his pockets and spoke some vulgar and unruly things to Zhou Ruoxin with a smirk, along the lines of, “I like you,” “Follow me from now on, be my woman,” and “I’ll treat you well in the future.”
Zhou Ruoxin’s face flushed crimson with anger. She was about to splash water on him but was pulled away in time by two female classmates who were frightened and hastily dragged her back to the classroom.
No one on the third floor, or even the entire grade level, was unaware of Liu Yang. He was the typical small-time thug and delinquent. Talking back to teachers, insulting classmates, fighting, and cutting class were all commonplace for him. Despite this, the school only gave him demerits and didn’t expel him. Privately, everyone speculated that Liu Yang’s family had a strong background and extensive connections, so the school didn’t dare to act.
Back in the classroom, Zhou Ruoxin’s body was still trembling. She glared angrily, biting her lip tightly, clearly furious. The female students nearby patted her shoulder, comforting her softly…
In fact, Zhou Ruoxin had never interacted with Liu Yang before and didn’t know why this little delinquent suddenly set his sights on her.
During lunch, Zhou Ruoxin didn’t mention the incident to the other two. Mo Zibei was fine, but Meng Yuanhao was too impulsive. If he found out, he would definitely pick a fight with Liu Yang, and the matter would escalate significantly.
Although she was angry, she hadn’t completely lost her mind. She knew the matter wouldn’t be easy to handle and planned to talk to her father about it when she got home that evening.
However, trouble found them before she even got home. After the second session of evening study hall, the three of them were cycling together, when suddenly, that bastard Liu Yang started following them.
Meng Yuanhao was unaware and thought the person was targeting him. Since Mo Zibei’s reminder, Meng Yuanhao had tried every way to distance himself from Liu Yang, avoiding him in everything. Their relationship had gradually cooled. That morning, after the morning reading session, Meng Yuanhao had even asked the homeroom teacher to move his seat to the front, completely cutting off contact with the person.
But after the seat change, Liu Yang began to mock, ridicule, and sneer at him in various ways, with a sinister expression on his face. Meng Yuanhao didn’t want to cause a major scene and had suppressed his anger, ignoring him. He never expected the guy to follow them like a ghost after school.
“Are you done or not?” Meng Yuanhao squeezed the brakes hard, planting both feet on the ground, and glared at him with a side-eye. “What exactly do you want?” Mo Zibei and Zhou Ruoxin also stopped their bikes.
Liu Yang followed their motion, stopping his bike and moving his butt to the back seat, knees bent, feet touching the ground.
A wicked smile curled his lips. He stretched a finger and pointed towards Zhou Ruoxin: “What I want, hasn’t Zhou Ruoxin told you?”
Meng Yuanhao turned to look at Zhou Ruoxin. Zhou Ruoxin’s expression was grim, and her eyes held fury. She held back, saying: “Yuanhao, don’t pay attention to this lunatic!”
“Holy crap, worthy of the woman I like! Even cursing is so exciting!”
Meng Yuanhao was stunned for a moment. When he reacted, the veins on his neck bulged, and he scowled and cursed: “What the hell are you talking about!”
Liu Yang smirked, his tone extremely frivolous: “I’ve never had a woman with this much character. I want to experience it!”
As his last word dropped, a loud thump was heard. Mo Zibei pushed her bike aside and threw her backpack to the ground.
“Damn it! You…” Before Liu Yang could finish his sentence, Mo Zibei delivered a flying kick that sent him and his bike crashing down.
Meng Yuanhao furiously threw his bag and bike, ran over, and began fiercely punching the fallen Liu Yang.
Zhou Ruoxin was first shocked, then wanted to rush over to help.
“Stay back!” Mo Zibei snapped. “Get far away and call Uncle Zhou!” Zhou Ruoxin halted, side-stepped a few steps away, pulled out her phone from her backpack, and frantically called her father.
Liu Yang spent his days involved in fights and brawls outside and had even been taken to the police station before. His fighting ability was quite strong!
Meng Yuanhao and Mo Zibei hadn’t fought much. After two or three minutes, the situation reversed. Meng Yuanhao was kicked to the ground, and Mo Zibei was punched several times, with blood coming from her mouth…
They were fighting on the pedestrian sidewalk. Cars passed by in the motorized vehicle lane, but none stopped. In today’s society, people were afraid of getting involved and dared not easily step in to help.
Mu Hanxi was working overtime today and left the company quite late. On her drive home, she happened to come across Mo Zibei fighting.
At that moment, Mo Zibei and Meng Yuanhao were at a disadvantage.
Mu Hanxi pulled her car over to the side of the road, got out, and shouted urgently: “Mo Zibei, be careful!”
Mo Zibei narrowly avoided another punch from Liu Yang. She quickly glanced at Mu Hanxi across the street, feeling a surge of hot blood rush to her head! She suddenly felt like she had taken an adrenaline shot, her body filled with strength. She even remembered the few martial arts moves she had learned as a child. Taking advantage of the moment when Liu Yang attacked Meng Yuanhao, she delivered a powerful sweeping kick that knocked Liu Yang down. Then, she quickly moved on top of him, pinning his abdomen with her leg and fiercely digging her elbow into his neck. Meng Yuanhao quickly scrambled over to help restrain him, and Zhou Ruoxin finally joined in. The three exerted force simultaneously, and Liu Yang couldn’t move.
Mu Hanxi hurried over from across the street, her expression anxious, her hand gripping her phone. She had been about to call the police… Just then, Zhou Father arrived.
With an adult present, the situation was much easier to handle, especially since Zhou Father was a police officer himself and had seen this little hoodlum at the station before.
Liu Yang hadn’t expected Zhou Ruoxin’s father to be Officer Zhou. If he had known, he wouldn’t have provoked Zhou Ruoxin. Thugs feared police officers the most.
Zhou Father, with a stern face, reprimanded Liu Yang. Liu Yang’s arrogant attitude completely vanished. After the reprimand, Zhou Father called Liu Yang’s father, instructing him to come immediately.
Liu Yang was slapped several times by his father, who arrived with a livid face. Finally, twisting Liu Yang’s ear, he made him apologize to the Zhou family. Zhou Father did not accept the apology, and the father and son had no choice but to leave dejectedly.
The matter was not over. Zhou Father planned to go to the school personally the next day. The fact that the school had repeatedly failed to expel this thug, who had caused trouble and been taken to the station several times, indicated a serious underlying issue.
Mu Hanxi did not leave and stayed by Mo Zibei’s side until everything was resolved.
During this time, Mo Zibei repeatedly glanced at her out of the corner of her eye, wanting to speak to her but not knowing how to start…
When the matter concluded, Mu Hanxi turned to look at the girl, her eyes flashing with a bit of distress: “Are you coming with me?” The girl’s face was swollen in several places, there was blood at the corner of her mouth, and she likely had other injuries…
Mo Zibei pursed her lips and whispered a quiet nod: “Yes.”
She greeted Zhou Father and pointed to Mu Hanxi, indicating that she wanted to go with this older sister.
Zhou Father looked up, met Mu Hanxi’s gentle gaze, and pondered for a moment before agreeing, then cautiously instructed: “You must treat your injuries immediately. Don’t delay.” Zhou Father’s thinking was that Zibei was not a child who was naturally close to people, and since there were no women at home, she might be unwilling to let anyone else apply ointment to injuries on parts of her body covered by clothing. Since she wanted to go with that girl, she must trust her.
“I know.”
Mo Zibei informed Meng Yuanhao and Zhou Ruoxin. Zhou Ruoxin grabbed her arm, refusing to let her go: “You have injuries.” Her back, shoulder, and legs were all hit by Liu Yang and needed ointment. These were private areas…
“It’s okay,” Mo Zibei blurted out in a moment of heat, “Sister Mu will help me.”
Zhou Ruoxin was still stubbornly holding on until Zhou Father spoke, only then reluctantly letting go.
The group pushed their bicycles to the shared bike area and locked them. Afterward, Meng Yuanhao and Zhou Ruoxin got into Zhou Father’s car.
Mu Hanxi picked up Mo Zibei’s backpack, which she had thrown on the ground before the fight: “Let’s go.”
Mo Zibei quickly followed.
Mu Hanxi drove her to a pharmacy. She didn’t let Mo Zibei follow her in. She went in herself and bought anti-inflammatory and bruise-reducing ointment, iodine, and cotton swabs for wound care, and also went to a nearby convenience store to buy a bottle of mineral water.
When she returned, she turned on the car’s interior light, dipped a medical cotton swab in some iodine, and gently called out to Mo Zibei: “Come here.”
Mo Zibei unbuckled her seatbelt and leaned closer. Mu Hanxi gently held Mo Zibei’s chin with her left hand and used her right hand, holding the damp cotton swab, to wipe the bloody corner of her mouth. Her expression was focused, and her movements were gentle… Mo Zibei’s throat bobbed. She unconsciously clenched her hands on her knees, and her heart pounded wildly and chaotically…
Suppressing the drumming heartbeats, and utilizing the light, she lowered her eyes and carefully observed Mu Hanxi: gentle brows and eyes, long eyelashes, a straight nose, rosy lips, and a delicate jawline… She was truly beautiful.
The two were very close. Mo Zibei could even clearly see the faint blue veins beneath Mu Hanxi’s fair skin and the fine, downy hair on her cheeks. Those tiny hairs seemed to scratch at her heart through her pupils, causing a tingling itch—a strong, growing warmth that constantly spread outwards…
Mo Zibei found it hard to endure and wanted to shift her body to alleviate it.
“Good girl,” Mu Hanxi gently stroked her chin with her left fingertip, coaxing, “Don’t move.”
Mo Zibei suddenly held her breath and froze her body…
