Fan Yue, an energetic young girl, has been troubled lately.
She and Xie Yanyan grew up as childhood friends, but as they got older, they began to treat each other like ghosts, despite living under the same roof. Recently, however, Xie Yanyan’s behavior has become completely baffling.
When Fan Yue felt unwell, Xie Yanyan braved a torrential downpour just to bring her medicine and comfort. When she encountered an unreliable suitor, Xie Yanyan stepped in to tear the “scumbag” to pieces herself. She even started cooking for Fan Yue and gifted her a lucky red string. Fan Yue is left wondering: Should I really continue this cold war with her?
Xie Yanyan, who originally intended to distance herself from Fan Yue’s life as much as possible, is now hesitating. The Fan Yue who once pulled her out of the shadows and into the sunlight seems to have returned—the girl who still stands up for her and makes the corners of her lips curl up uncontrollably. She decides she must protect Fan Yue forever.
Later, they attend university in the same city. Xie Yanyan begins her journey into acting. One night, she suddenly presses a kiss onto Fan Yue’s lips.
Fan Yue’s face turns crimson as she stammers in shock, “W-what are you doing?”
Xie Yanyan smiles brilliantly. “I have a kissing scene tomorrow. Keep my first kiss safe for me.”
It takes a while, but Fan Yue eventually realizes what “safekeeping a first kiss” truly means.
Her best friend sighs: “Haven’t you noticed that Xie Yanyan’s eyes have been glued to you this whole time?” Her roommate shakes her head: “You’re just realizing this now? Your reaction time is way too long!”
