Synopsis

Alice is a live-streamer. Her life is simple: she edits funny videos, immediately gives up when she encounters danger, and has some intelligence, but not a lot. As an ordinary person in a world of superheroes, the laziest of the lazy, she never imagined she could become a superhero. But one day, due to a mix-up, she accidentally downloaded the wrong game.

Well, since it’s downloaded, I might as well play it.

So, with a yandere mod installed, she forcibly turned a City Simulation game into a Reverse Harem Shura Field (a chaotic situation of romantic rivalry). While simultaneously using a polygamous module, she attempted to become a “Sea King” (a player who juggles multiple love interests). Her ideals were grand, but reality was harsh.

The game was quite fun, and the NPCs within were individually beautiful. The only problem was that the fandom was too small; there were no guides, forcing Alice to explore on her own.

She explored, and what she discovered was shocking.

The nice older sister next door is suspected of being a serial killer and has the surname Wayne? The shut-in sister downstairs dreams of developing a space shuttle and is from a Metropolis asylum? The weird, eccentric person upstairs calls herself an alien named something like “Wicks”? The gorgeous woman on the top floor is deeply involved in a sadomasochistic dismemberment script? With this strange combination of NPCs, Alice realizes: She can’t successfully romance a single one of them!!!

What’s worse, as the NPCs’ affection for her gradually increases and more character traits are unlocked, Alice begins to realize something is seriously wrong. She falls silent. She only wanted to concentrate on playing the game, and NO ONE TOLD HER that after romancing an NPC, she would gain superpowers!!!

As a qualified American citizen, Alice looked at the system that had inexplicably appeared on her, and silently dialed the official hotline. “Hello, is this the Justice League? I’m sorry, I think I may be suffering from a mental illness, mistakenly believing I suddenly have superpowers. Please take me to Arkham Asylum, thank you.”

In the darkness, a crisis gradually descends. For the sake of world peace and cosmic tranquility, Alice’s solo game playing turns into all the superheroes helping her play the game.

This world is a massive game!!!

Alice seriously attempts to continue her romance routes, but after unlocking the one-star plot, she falls silent. Who can explain to her why the gentle and kind older sister next door was running around chopping people with an axe in the plot? And more crucially, why is her surname Wayne? Game developer, did you not receive a cease and desist letter from Gotham’s lawyers?

And that shut-in sister who dreamed of researching a time-space shuttle—you actually succeeded in researching it? No, sister, you’re playing for real!

Alice understands now: she’s never playing “abstract” again. The NPCs are genuinely treating her like an idiot.

“Never fear the night of Gotham.”

The sea swallowed Gotham. The fleeing Robin fell on the road. The flesh and blood of the gods became the best nourishment. The world’s greatest detective was locked in a psychiatric hospital. Death swept over Metropolis. Blüdhaven concealed bloodthirsty wolves. The Amazons were forced to open their eyes amidst layers of apocalypse, facing suffering alone.

The gods have long fallen. That is the relic, or perhaps a gift, left behind by the last hero of this world.

“So please hand all of this over to the coward.”
