I No Longer Have Love to Offer You - Chapter 30
“A person wants to meet you, Mirabel, regarding the investor matter.”
Albert brought this up several days after reuniting with Killian after a long time.
“Someone wants to meet me?”
“Yes. Remember when I mentioned having a lead about potential investors before? I’ve arranged a meeting with that person.”
At Albert’s words, Mirabelle recalled their previous conversation about the proposal system. He had indeed mentioned temporarily handling the investor matter.
“Has someone agreed to cooperate with us?”
“Yes. And their condition was to meet Mirabel, the originator of the plan. They want to hear about it directly from you.”
Mirabelle understood that if someone were to invest in the project, it would be an ongoing relationship. Given the substantial amount involved, an in-person explanation was necessary.
“I understand. Has a date been set for the meeting?”
“They said they’d like to meet as soon as possible.”
For Mirabelle, the sooner the better. It would allow them to advance the plan more quickly.
“I’m available anytime.”
“I’ll be attending too. Shall we set the date on our end?”
“Of course.”
“Understood.”
With Mirabelle’s approval, Albert immediately contacted the other party. A reply soon arrived, scheduling the meeting for one week later.
(I wonder why they agreed to support us…)
Mirabelle’s question would be answered once she learned who the investor was.

“This place…!”
At the sight of the mansion, Mirabelle couldn’t help but gasp in surprise. Though, truthfully, she had already guessed the investor’s identity when she realized their destination even before arriving at the estate.
“Albert, is it really him?”
She asked because she felt indebted to this person. Given what she had done, it was hard to believe he would support her plan.
“Don’t worry.”
Albert replied, seemingly understanding Mirabelle’s feelings.
The mansion stood out even in this affluent district, boasting vast grounds. Walking along the sturdy stone-walled path, they soon reached towering wrought-iron gates, flanked by guards checking visitors.
“Theo Albert of the Albert Trading Company. I’d like to request an audience with the master.”
At Albert’s words, the guards smoothly opened the gates. Normally, even with prior notice, confirmation would go through the steward or butler first. Being allowed through without such formalities spoke volumes about Albert’s trusted status.
“I apologize for not telling you who we were meeting beforehand. But if I had, you would have worried about it, wouldn’t you?”
“That… is true.”
Albert was right. Had Mirabelle known the investor’s identity in advance, she would have agonized over it endlessly. Albert knew her personality well enough to anticipate this.
Escorted by Albert, Mirabelle stepped down from the carriage at the mansion’s entrance. Raising her gaze, she saw a familiar face waiting beyond the opened doors.
“…Long time no see.”
Unsure how to face him, she spoke hesitantly only to be met with a gentle smile.
“It has been too long. You look well.”
The steward, dressed in black morning attire, bowed gracefully. His unchanged demeanor made something well up in Mirabelle’s chest. How many months had passed since their last meeting? Though less than a year, her circumstances had changed dramatically since then.
“We have an appointment with Lord Hylas.”
Albert interjected as he observed their exchange. The steward turned to Albert and gestured deeper into the mansion.
“Of course. Please follow me this way.”
To Mirabelle, this place was nostalgic. She still remembered where every room was she could probably find the parlor without guidance.
With these thoughts, she followed the steward alongside Albert.
Knock knock.
“Master, the representative from Albert Trading Company has arrived.”
“Show them in.”
The voice was unmistakably familiar to Mirabelle. What expression would he wear when they met? Watching the door slowly open, she wondered.
