Yamamoto Itsuki, a boy who, throughout his elementary and middle school years, was relentlessly bullied by his classmate Takatsuki Misaki. Misaki is portrayed as a charismatic, popular girl; outwardly beautiful and socially elevated but who uses her power to tease and belittle Itsuki for her own amusement.
As they advance into later teenage years, a shift begins. Misaki develops regret over her past behavior, repeatedly approaches Itsuki to apologize and tries to change.
Meanwhile, Itsuki struggles with his trauma and bitterness; the wounds of his past are deep. He resists forgiving her, fearing he’ll be hurt again.
Gradually, they begin rebuilding a relationship: shared moments, honest conversations, and a fragile trust. The title suggests that eventually they end up married, indicating that Misaki’s transformation and Itsuki’s forgiveness lead them to union.
