I Just Want to be a Throwaway Character - Chapter 56
Chapter 56
Ji Wan sat on the big bed in the system space. Her eyes were empty, staring into nothingness, not speaking. There were still traces of tears at the corners of her eyes. She looked lonely and despairing, a sight that would make anyone’s heart ache.
System 111, a small, shifting ball of light, obediently snuggled into Ji Wan’s arms without speaking right away.
“That’s strange. Memory wiping shouldn’t cause this,” System 111 thought, sensing Ji Wan’s low mood.
“Little One, how much longer until I complete the mission?” Ji Wan asked softly. A glimmer of light appeared in her eyes, but her voice held no emotion.
“Uh, Host. You just need to complete two more SSS-rank missions. If they’re not SSS, then there might be a few more,” System 111 replied. System 111 didn’t dare tell Ji Wan that if they were all low-level missions, she would have to do at least a few dozen more.
“I don’t want to do this anymore,” Ji Wan said listlessly, lying back on the soft bed.
“Come on, Host. You’re almost there! You’ll have money soon,” System 111 said, floating in front of Ji Wan and bobbing up and down.
“But… I can’t remember anything from the previous missions,” Ji Wan said, clutching her chest, her expression a little lost.
“It’s okay. Your memories will be returned once all the missions are complete,” System 111 comforted her.
“Then what happened to all the money I earned in those worlds?” Ji Wan asked, pinching System 111.
“…” System 111 was at a loss for words. It had thought Ji Wan was going to say something sad…
“Never mind. It’s all gone anyway. Let’s go. To the next world,” Ji Wan said, sitting up.
“Okay. Importing the next world for the Host,” System 111 said helplessly.
“Mm,” Ji Wan closed her eyes and fell into darkness.
Importing The Glorious Path of a Max-Level Master: A Harem Novel
Female Lead: Lu Fanghan, a direct descendant of the four great families of the Lu Clan. She has a good family background, a beautiful appearance, and a cool demeanor. Her awakening of a five-element magical talent earned her the title of a genius seen only once in a millennium. After a magical test, she entered St. Lan’s Magical Academy. There, she met the people she loved and her companions, and she trained to become the strongest mage. She defeated the public enemy of this world, the Dark Guild, and ultimately became a world hero.
Supporting Female Character: Ji Wan, from a small family. She is vain and craves power and wealth. Her parents died when she was young, and she was raised by her uncle. When she turned sixteen, she conspired with her uncle to sign a marriage contract with the female lead to gain benefits for her family. Later, because of her endless demands and using her status as the fiancée to act arrogantly and look down on commoners, her engagement was canceled by the female lead, and she was sent back to her family. Afterward, out of jealousy and resentment for everything the female lead had, she joined the Dark Guild and was ultimately defeated by the female lead.
World Background: This is a fictional magical world. Most people awaken their magical talents at age 10. The more magical elements one awakens, the stronger their abilities. Magic is also divided into different ranks: Super, Excellent, High, Medium, and Low. People with Medium or Low-rank magic are considered commoners and are not qualified for high-level jobs. Those with powerful magical abilities participate in the Magical Academy selection at age 16. They are generally admitted to St. Lan’s Magical Academy to study so they can work for the Empire and the four great families in the future. The magical elements are metal, wood, water, fire, and earth, as well as light and dark elements, which only a small number of people can possess.
…
Ji Wan’s mind felt hazy. She slowly opened her eyes and realized she was lying on a bed. Ji Wan looked at the chandelier above her head, feeling confused. She tried to sit up, but as soon as she moved, a pair of arms wrapped around her waist. Ji Wan froze.
She stiffly turned her head, and a still-sleeping girl’s face came into view. She looked young and inexperienced, but her sharp beauty was still undeniable. It struck Ji Wan’s chest. For some reason, Ji Wan’s chest felt tight, a feeling she couldn’t quite describe. But she quickly regained control of her emotions and decided to escape from this stranger first. She still didn’t know the specifics of the plot and had to figure things out. She had to get out of this stranger’s arms first.
But as she pulled the blanket down, the feel of it was off. Ji Wan pulled the blanket down a little more and looked.
Ah! The next second, thump, a heavy object was kicked to the floor. Ji Wan clutched the blanket and scrambled to the corner of the bed. Why wasn’t she wearing anything?! And she was sleeping with a stranger!
Thankfully, she felt completely clean, and there were no weird sensations on her body. The other person’s clothes were also neat, so it didn’t seem like anything strange had happened. Ji Wan’s face was completely red, and she was too ashamed to look at the person she had kicked to the floor.
Lu Fanghan opened her eyes, her face filled with displeasure. Because she had awakened her magical talent at age ten, she was surrounded by incredibly powerful magical elements at all times. Because she couldn’t handle the sudden surge of magical elements, she had been suffering from insomnia for a long time. She had finally fallen asleep, only to be woken up. Who was it?
Lu Fanghan propped herself up and coldly glanced at the girl on the bed who was clutching a blanket. That one look was enough to make Ji Wan too scared to meet her gaze.
“Who are you, and why are you in my room?” Lu Fanghan asked coldly, standing up and looking at the small girl. But Ji Wan was too afraid to answer. She just clutched the blanket.
Lu Fanghan walked over, grabbed Ji Wan’s wrist, and pressed her down. Ji Wan was forced against the headboard and couldn’t move. Lu Fanghan forcefully held Ji Wan’s chin, forcing her to look at her, and said coldly, “Who sent you?”
“I… I don’t know,” Ji Wan’s voice trembled, a little tearful. She held the blanket tightly with her other hand. Her eyes were pitiful, hoping Lu Fanghan would let her go.
But Lu Fanghan didn’t let go. She was clearly resisting the person who was close to her. She forcefully pinched Ji Wan’s chin and threatened, “If you don’t talk, I have ways to make you talk.” As she spoke, she leaned in closer to Ji Wan’s face.
Ji Wan was so scared that she turned her head away, her expression flustered. What was she going to do?!
But Lu Fanghan didn’t say anything. Her face was dark. The next second, a green vine appeared out of nowhere and wrapped around Ji Wan’s waist. Ji Wan’s expression instantly became red with shame and fear. She was about to try and break free with the blanket, but the next second, both of her hands were bound above her head.
Just as Lu Fanghan was about to interrogate her, Ji Wan’s blanket, which wasn’t being held, slipped down. In an instant, a blindingly fair and beautiful sight entered Lu Fanghan’s eyes, and she held her breath.
Ji Wan saw Lu Fanghan looking at her, and tears started to fall. She was incredibly embarrassed. “Are you happy now, ugh…” Ji Wan sobbed, feeling extremely wronged.
Lu Fanghan was a little stunned, her mind a blank. Before she could react, her hand had already moved to wipe away Ji Wan’s tears. Before she could say anything, bang, the door was violently knocked open. The next second, a noisy crowd rushed into the room.
Lu Fanghan’s eyes turned cold. She quickly wrapped Ji Wan tightly in the blanket and pulled her into her arms, covering her completely.
Ji Wan didn’t know what was happening. She just cried, trembling against Jiang Zhili’s chest. And what everyone saw when they came in was Lu Fanghan holding onto a small girl and bullying her until she cried. The scene looked incredibly suggestive. Everyone had different expressions.
“Lord Lu, please give us justice. Our pure, innocent girl has been ruined by your Miss Lu.” Uncle Ji controlled his excited expression and pretended to look serious as he spoke to the old man in the crowd.
“Patriarch Ji, let’s go outside first. Justice will be served,” Lord Lu said, not saying much more. He waved his hand, signaling for everyone to leave the room. Before he walked out, he looked at Lu Fanghan’s cool eyes. “Hanhan, after you’ve dealt with this, come to my study.” He then led everyone out of the room.
Lu Fanghan didn’t say anything. She pushed Ji Wan away, having regained her sanity.
“Was this your goal?” Lu Fanghan glanced at Ji Wan with a complicated expression. But the girl just held onto the blanket and shrank back into the corner, not saying anything.
“Heh, you’d better stop with your little schemes,” Lu Fanghan said, not looking at Ji Wan again, and walked out of the room.
When the room became quiet, Ji Wan frantically called for System 111, her tone a little gritted.
“Little One, you’d better explain what’s going on!”
“Uh, Host. The plot was that the Ji family used a scheme to put you on Lu Fanghan’s bed, pretending you were violated. They forced the female lead, Lu Fanghan, to sign a marriage contract with you,” System 111 said, a little guiltily.
“Isn’t she a max-level mage? How could a small family like the Ji family trick her into bed?” Ji Wan asked, confused.
“In order to get you onto the female lead’s bed, your uncle specifically found a way to buy an entry ticket to the Lu family’s banquet. He also used half of the family’s assets to get a bottle of a high-grade sedative,” System 111 replied.
“Then why am I not wearing any clothes, but she is?” Ji Wan was a little ashamed and angry. Just thinking about the way Lu Fanghan looked at her made her want to find a hole to hide in. What kind of strange plot was this? It started with the female lead’s complete disgust for her!
“Uh, the original host took her own clothes off…” System 111 replied.
“Damn it,” Ji Wan thought, wondering if she should say it out loud.
Ji Wan looked around the room in frustration and finally saw her clothes. A pure white dress. Wearing it made Ji Wan look innocent.
After Ji Wan was dressed and had secretly opened the door a little, a person was standing outside, making Ji Wan jump. A maid looked at Ji Wan and bowed politely. “Miss Ji, the Master has asked you to go to the study.”
Ji Wan clutched her chest. “Okay, please take me with you.”
Ji Wan followed the maid to the study and couldn’t help but marvel at the size of the Lu family estate. The size of this house was incredible. After many twists and turns, they finally arrived. Ji Wan was a little nervous. She gently knocked on the door. A strange element surged, and the door opened on its own.
“Come in, child,” Grandfather Lu said, looking at Ji Wan at the door and gesturing for her to enter.
Lu Fanghan stood in front of Grandfather Lu’s desk and glanced at Ji Wan with a blank expression, her eyes filled with coldness.
“I am very sorry for the damage to your reputation. I have discussed it with your uncle and we have signed a marriage contract for you and Fanghan. Your uncle has already signed it. This is the contract. Take a look.” Grandfather Lu pushed a parchment roll toward her.
The contract had words and figures on it, stating how many benefits the Lu family had given the Ji family. Ji Wan looked at the large sums of money, the land, and many other things that she didn’t know what they were, but they were definitely expensive. The words “contract of sale” involuntarily came to her mind.
“Your uncle has already gone back. You will be living in the Lu family from today on,” Grandfather Lu said, directly arranging everything for Ji Wan.
Ji Wan’s words of refusal were stuck in her throat, and she could only nod obediently. After all, it was a mission.
Ji Wan walked out of the study, feeling a little dazed. Was she just sold?
But as she was lost in thought, a pair of hands pulled her into a corner. Her back hit the wall hard. The sudden pain made Ji Wan frown. She looked at the culprit, a little angry.
Lu Fanghan’s expression was cold. She grabbed Ji Wan’s chin and said in an icy tone, “Do you think I’ll fall for you just because you used a trick like this? Heh, don’t even think about it. I’ll break off this engagement with you sooner or later.”
After she finished, she let go of Ji Wan and left. Ji Wan clutched her sore chin, tears welling up in her eyes from the pain.
What’s wrong with her?! She glared at Lu Fanghan’s back, angry. “Who wants you, you heartless person!”
