I Just Want to be a Throwaway Character - Chapter 35
Chapter 35: The Unbreakable Bond
For a moment, Ji Wan was stunned. Her crying stopped, and her mind went blank. Her hands went limp on Lin Morou’s body. What did Lin Morou just say? She loves me? A hint of panic flashed across Ji Wan’s face, as if a long-hidden secret had been revealed.
But Lin Morou said no more. She took Ji Wan’s hand and, while Ji Wan was still in a daze, cut her finger. Their fingers intertwined. She quickly chanted the contract spell. The next moment, their blood flew into the air, forming a strange, golden pattern. Ji Wan felt her connection with Lin Morou strengthen, little by little. When the light faded, a strange pattern appeared on both their wrists, encircling their clasped hands.
Lin Morou smiled, hugging Ji Wan tightly. “Do you know? This contract wouldn’t have appeared if it weren’t for mutual love. So, Ji Wan, you love me too.” In that moment, Lin Morou was as content as a child. Looking at Ji Wan’s red-rimmed eyes, she gently wiped away the girl’s tears. “I’m sorry for forcing you like this,” she whispered.
Ji Wan’s cat ears stood up, and her expression was awkward. But the pattern on her wrist reminded her that she liked Lin Morou. Ji Wan felt embarrassed, a feeling she couldn’t quite define. Maybe I do love her. Lin Morou looked at the conflicted girl in her arms and smiled faintly. No longer holding back, she kissed Ji Wan’s cat ear. Ji Wan, still lost in her thoughts, was suddenly overwhelmed by a tingling sensation that went straight to her bones. Flustered, she covered her ears with her hands and said in a soft, hurt voice, “Don’t you dare!”
Lin Morou gave a light, doting laugh. Even though Ji Wan’s body was resisting her, Lin Morou wouldn’t miss this rare chance to tease her. Ji Wan loves me! This is my ultimate trump card. She grabbed the tail wrapped around her waist and began to stroke it from the tip. A tingling sensation spread across Ji Wan’s scalp, making her incredibly sensitive. That ticklish feeling made her want to run, but Lin Morou held her, giving her no escape. Ji Wan helplessly bit down on Lin Morou’s shoulder, whimpering, but her bite was as soft as a tickle. “Lin Morou, don’t go too far,” Ji Wan’s weak, tearful voice had the opposite effect, making Lin Morou want to tease her even more.
Lin Morou held Ji Wan’s waist, ignoring her resistance, and opened her mouth to kiss her cat ear. Ji Wan whimpered as fresh tears streamed down her face. This person is too much! How could she?! She wanted to protest, but Lin Morou didn’t give her a chance.
In the closed room, the sounds of the girl’s soft sobs were intermittent and long-lasting, accompanied by Lin Morou’s gentle coaxing, like a big bad wolf. When the sounds finally stopped, Lin Morou tidied her collar. It was stained with large, wet marks from Ji Wan’s tears. Lin Morou’s shoulder had several faint teeth marks. She looked at the crimson girl lying on the bed, feeling completely satisfied. Her heart was full. The sight of the kiss mark on Ji Wan’s wrist, surrounded by the chain’s pattern, and the “ink-wash painting” on her back filled her with delight.
Ji Wan’s eyes were half-closed, too exhausted to move. Her body was overly stimulated. She couldn’t believe how sensitive her demon-transformed body was. Lin Morou, that beast! She had done everything but the final step. Ji Wan felt like her eyes were going blind from all the crying. Her soul felt numb, like a puppet in Lin Morou’s hands. By the end, the tears were uncontrollable. The sweat made the thin gauze dress even more transparent. The strange, terrifying sensation felt like it would shatter her sanity. Finally, Ji Wan fell asleep from exhaustion.
…
A New Beginning
When Ji Wan woke up, she was wearing a normal shirt. Her body was still weak and sore, but she was clean. Her cat ears and tail were gone, and the chain had been removed. She slowly sat up in the middle of the large bed. Her expression was still dazed, the hair on her head was slightly frizzy, her lips were swollen, and the redness around her eyes was very clear.
Lin Morou was not in the room. Ji Wan got out of bed and walked toward the door. She didn’t know where she was. When she opened the door, she saw a bright moon hanging high in the sky. Is it night already? Ji Wan saw a figure standing silently by a stone table under a hundred-year-old tree in the courtyard, looking up at the moonlight. She looked lonely and desolate.
Ji Wan walked up quietly and wrapped her arms around Lin Morou’s slender waist from behind. “What’s wrong?” Ji Wan asked softly. Seeing Lin Morou standing there alone stirred a strange emotion in her heart. A pang of sympathy made her walk over and hug her without thinking. Lin Morou held Ji Wan’s hands, but said nothing.
“Wanwan, was I too much?” Lin Morou’s voice was full of self-reproach. “I pushed you away for revenge, and now I’m forcefully taking you back.” Her voice was vulnerable.
“You’re not wrong. It’s not your fault,” Ji Wan said, tightening her embrace and pressing her face against Lin Morou’s back. She felt pity for Lin Morou’s vulnerability. Lin Morou turned around and hugged Ji Wan, her eyes filled with pain and tears. Her voice softened. “But your father…”
Ji Wan didn’t say anything. Instead, she stood on her tiptoes, wrapped her arms around Lin Morou’s neck, and gently kissed her soft lips. Lin Morou was stunned. Ji Wan’s action spoke for her, gently pressing her lips against Lin Morou’s without any other movements.
After the kiss, Ji Wan rested her head on Lin Morou’s chest and said calmly, “I know. I know everything. It was my father’s wish. You didn’t do anything wrong. You did so well. You saved the innocent people of the Demon Realm, didn’t you?”
Lin Morou held the warmth in her arms, speechless. The love in her heart swelled, overflowing. A moment later, she solemnly handed Ji Wan the demon core. She watched the tears fall from Ji Wan’s eyes as she saw it and gently kissed them away, her kisses pure and filled with love, not desire.
A magical thing happened. The demon core floated in the air and turned into a light that entered Ji Wan’s forehead. It was a gentle power. The next moment, Ji Wan felt her demonic power surge, reaching a level close to Lin Morou’s. At the same time, in the Demon Realm, the demon generals stopped what they were doing as if they sensed something. They all looked in Ji Wan’s direction, their eyes filled with reverence. A new Demon Lord had been born.
With the surge of power, many memories appeared in Ji Wan’s mind, left for her by her father. When she saw the memories of the Lin family, her expression was shocked. She looked at Lin Morou with a mix of awe and sympathy. Lin Morou, seeing her expression, gently stroked her hair. “What’s wrong? Are you in pain?”
Ji Wan shook her head. She looked at Lin Morou with a complex expression and placed her hands on Lin Morou’s face, pressing their foreheads together. She didn’t want to hide anything from her. Ji Wan transferred the memory to Lin Morou.
The twenty-year-old memory was like this: Twenty years ago, a Lin family ancestor ascended to the heavens. For a time, the Lin family was at the height of its glory. But without their pillar of support, the current generation of the Lin family had no true powerhouses. The remaining members were a weak and talentless lot. Lin Morou’s so-called father saw the family’s decline and, hungry for resources and power, set his sights on the family’s forbidden grounds. The Lin family’s sacred ground was said to be built to protect the soul of a fallen god, and no one was allowed to desecrate it. But Lin Morou’s father obtained a forbidden formation that could transfer a god’s soul into a dead body, at the cost of one’s lifespan. His first daughter was just born. The father had gone mad. He stole his newborn child and brutally killed her, using her blood to summon the god’s soul. He successfully summoned the soul and created a new powerhouse. She had no memory and was as innocent as a child. His wife believed the child was her own and raised her with all her heart. The father could only fear and worship this god. The mother died without ever knowing her real child was gone. The father raised the child as his ultimate weapon.
The Demon Lord simply used an illusion to drive the father mad, making him believe his real child had returned to seek revenge and that the god was retaliating. This was enough to make the father snap. He went insane and slaughtered the entire Lin family. When Lin Morou returned, she saw the Demon Lord standing in her home, surrounded by bodies. Her father was on the ground, his eyes vacant. Her mother, shocked, killed herself with a sword. The Demon Lord simply gave Lin Morou a cold look and, in front of her, killed her father, turning him to dust. The resulting shockwave wounded Lin Morou. Before she passed out, a fierce red light flashed in her eyes, but it vanished quickly. The Demon Lord, however, had sensed the terrifying destructive pressure—the god’s unique trait, “Judgment. Red Hell.”
“BEEP. Congratulations, host, for revealing the complete ending,” System 111’s voice suddenly interrupted.
System 111 was overjoyed. A perfect mission completion would earn it bonus points, as long as its host stayed in the Demon Beast Realm… System 111 stopped thinking. Its view shifted to its host. System 111 froze. It saw its host and the female lead hugging, and they were very close. Hugging? Looking into each other’s eyes? And holding waists? A little closer, and System 111 would be sent to the penalty box again.
A bad feeling came over System 111. Why? My host is with the female lead again! It had only been gone for a little while! In the last world, System 111 had convinced itself its host had charmed the female lead with her beauty. But in this world, the female lead had seen its host’s face since childhood. With the master-apprentice relationship and the family feud, they shouldn’t have gotten together! What’s happening? Does the female lead have a sibling complex? System 111 was sure its host had diligently avoided seducing the female lead. What’s going on? It wanted to ask its host, but then pop, its screen went black. It had been sent to the penalty box…
System 111 was completely bewildered.
Lin Morou gently kissed Ji Wan’s lips, her eyes filled with love. There was no anger or excitement from the truth. She said calmly and lovingly, “What do I do? I only have you now. Ji Wan, please don’t leave me.”
Ji Wan hugged her back, feeling a deep sympathy. Neither hero nor villain was absolutely good or bad. There was only humanity. Ji Wan looked up, cupping Lin Morou’s face, and smiled. “Lin Morou, let’s change this world together with our power. Even if you’re stuck in the mud, you still have me. Together.”
“Okay,” Lin Morou said gently, caressing Ji Wan’s cheek and looking at her with a doting expression. She would clear this muddy world for Ji Wan.
Under the moonlight, their eyes met. Love spread between them, a sweet taste filling their hearts. That night, Ji Wan felt a long-lost and familiar flutter in her heart. She didn’t know why she was crying, only that the person she loved was right in front of her.
A gentle breeze rustled the leaves of the hundred-year-old tree. In the moonlight, their shadows were clear and intertwined, their heads resting against each other.
