I Just Want to be a Throwaway Character - Chapter 34
Chapter 34: The Beast and the Bird
The door was pushed open, and a stream of light cut through the dark room. Ji Wan looked up through the gauze curtains at the person in the doorway. It was a blurred figure, but Ji Wan knew it was Lin Morou. Without a word, Lin Morou closed the door, and the room was plunged back into darkness.
In the dark, Ji Wan’s other senses were exceptionally sharp. She could hear Lin Morou’s footsteps approaching. Whether intentional or not, the sound was unnervingly clear, each step a fresh jolt to Ji Wan’s nerves. Her heart began to pound with fear. She tried to press herself further into the corner of the bed, desperately trying to conceal her body.
The next moment, the faint sound of the curtain being pulled back sent Ji Wan’s tension soaring. She felt Lin Morou’s presence draw closer, and her breathing quickened. A moment later, a pair of long, slender hands wrapped around her ankle. The subtle friction of the fingertips sent a shiver straight to her core.
Ji Wan froze, panic setting in. Her senses were already on high alert, and this sudden provocation was too much. A faint whimper escaped her lips. She quickly clamped a hand over her mouth, ashamed and wishing she could disappear into a hole in the ground. She knew her face must be flushed crimson.
“Heh.” In the darkness, Lin Morou’s voice was a clear, cruel laugh that grated on Ji Wan’s eardrums. Her heart felt like it would burst from her chest.
“Lin… Lin Morou, n-no… don’t touch me,” Ji Wan begged, her voice thick with sobs, as she felt the touch on her ankle. Unbeknownst to her, Lin Morou’s Grand Ascension stage cultivation allowed her to see Ji Wan’s red-rimmed eyes and mortified expression, like a predator toying with its prey.
“Little 1, she’s… she’s not going to kill me, is she? Help!” Ji Wan’s desperate plea was met with an automated response.
“BEEP. The system has detected the host is in a special situation and has been automatically shielded.”
The emotionless electronic voice sent a wave of utter despair through Ji Wan. She had no spiritual power; she had spent the last two years diligently managing the demon world’s affairs, not cultivating demonic energy. She had no way to fight back. Lin Morou could obliterate her with a single finger. Ji Wan’s tears streamed down her face, making her look like a vulnerable, drenched flower. But Lin Morou showed no mercy.
In the dark, an arm wrapped around Ji Wan’s waist, and she was pulled into Lin Morou’s embrace. She could feel her soft body pressed against Lin Morou’s through the thin, fragile gauze. Ji Wan went rigid, afraid to move. She felt shame, fear, and helplessness. Lin Morou leaned in close, her warm breath caressing Ji Wan’s ear.
“What? You weren’t afraid to get married, but you’re afraid now?” Lin Morou’s voice held a malicious playfulness. In the darkness, her eyes were savage as she watched Ji Wan sob and tremble. Even though Ji Wan couldn’t see, she could feel Lin Morou’s intent, as if she wanted to devour her alive. Ji Wan’s small body trembled even more.
Lin Morou’s gaze darkened, and a cruel smile formed on her lips. She raised Ji Wan’s chin in the dark, enjoying her tear-streaked face. Ji Wan tried to push her away, but every time she moved, she was held tighter. After a few attempts, she gave up, staying curled up in Lin Morou’s arms and simply crying. The despair was overwhelming.
Lin Morou lightly twirled a strand of Ji Wan’s hair, her eyes growing more dangerous. With a snap of her fingers, all the candles in the room were lit. The sudden light made Ji Wan flinch. Out of fear, she wrapped her arms around Lin Morou’s waist and clung to her, a gesture of surrender.
Lin Morou’s eyes were dark as she took in the sight of Ji Wan’s body beneath the sheer gauze. The pale, flawless skin on her back made Lin Morou want to leave her own marks. Her fingers gently traced the length of Ji Wan’s hair, enjoying the silken feel. Yet her expression remained controlled, her desires in check.
Ji Wan bit down on Lin Morou’s collar, trying to stop herself from making a strange sound. This person is too much! Where is she touching? Overwhelmed with anger, Ji Wan looked up, her expression changing. “Lin… Lin Morou, you’re… you’re going too far,” she said, her voice soft and alluring, tugging on Lin Morou’s heartstrings.
“Too far, how?” Lin Morou’s low, hoarse voice was a vibration against Ji Wan’s ear, breaking down her fragile defenses. “Is it too far here? Or here? Oh, no, it must be this spot.” Lin Morou smiled, her cold expression gone, replaced by a malevolent one. With each word, her hand moved to a different spot, making Ji Wan’s face redden with shame.
That beast! Ji Wan swore that if she had the power, she would tie Lin Morou up and whip her. But in reality, all she could do was plead, “Waaah, please don’t do this.”
Lin Morou didn’t back down. She produced a small bottle and offered it to Ji Wan. Ji Wan had a bad feeling about it; it couldn’t be anything good. Seeing Ji Wan’s stubborn refusal, Lin Morou uncorked the bottle and poured the liquid into her own mouth. Ji Wan’s bad feeling intensified. She ignored her shame and tried to twist away, but Lin Morou held her in place, pressing her down.
The liquid was bitter. Lin Morou forced it on Ji Wan, who tried to push it back into her mouth. The struggle became a frenzied exchange, a forceful consumption. Ji Wan’s eyes grew hazy as she fell into the hunter’s trap.
In the end, she drank it. Lin Morou looked at Ji Wan’s cherry-red lips, gently wiping away the residue. At least I won’t die, since she drank a lot too, Ji Wan thought weakly, panting in Lin Morou’s arms.
But then, something felt wrong. A strange sensation spread from the top of her head and her tailbone. Soon, a pair of cat ears sprouted from her head, and a long cat tail from her tailbone. These animal features, combined with Ji Wan’s suggestive form, immediately drew Lin Morou’s full attention.
“This Demonic Transformation Water works well,” Lin Morou thought, looking at Ji Wan’s adorable yet alluring appearance. A dangerous glint appeared in her eyes as she began to scheme.
Ji Wan was mortified. She wanted to cover her new ears, but then she saw the curves of her body. She was torn between hiding her ears and covering her body. This bastard! I knew she had a hidden agenda! Angry tears streamed down her face, and her two new ears drooped limply. Her tail, which she couldn’t control, wrapped itself around both of them.
Lin Morou was delighted by this voluntary action, but she had something more important to do. She reached out and touched Ji Wan’s tail. Ji Wan had a strong reaction and slapped her hand away. “Don’t touch!” she said fiercely, but her red-rimmed eyes and tearful face made the threat completely ineffective.
In her transformed state, Ji Wan was irresistibly cute. “Heh, you, a demon, are afraid?” Lin Morou’s low voice vibrated in Ji Wan’s ears. Her hand reached out again, provoking Ji Wan’s sensitive tail. Time and again. The intense stimulation made Ji Wan tremble, and fresh tears rolled down her cheeks.
“Lin Morou, don’t you dare!” her soft, whimpering voice was breathtakingly alluring. Lin Morou took a deep breath, trying to control herself. Not yet.
Then, to Ji Wan’s surprise, Lin Morou cut her own finger and looked at her. Ji Wan had a bad feeling. She looked at Lin Morou warily, unsure what she was about to do.
“Let’s make a contract, okay?” Lin Morou said gently, stroking Ji Wan’s cheek.
“What if I say no?” Ji Wan looked up at Lin Morou’s deep eyes, her soft voice laced with unyielding defiance. Ji Wan knew that since she was a demon, they could only form a marriage contract. She didn’t want to completely fall into Lin Morou’s hands, yet her heart was pounding.
“Sweetheart, the demon beast form is most fertile. If you want a baby, I’ll give you one,” Lin Morou said, gently pressing her hand to Ji Wan’s flat stomach, her eyes filled with a deep, seductive pull. Lin Morou’s voice was gentle, but her words sent a chill down Ji Wan’s spine. Lin Morou was threatening her.
A wave of injustice washed over Ji Wan. Her eyes filled with tears again. “Lin Morou, why? Why? You were the one who pushed me away, and now you want to make a contract with me?! You’re a bastard!” All of her emotions exploded. Lin Morou had been the one to push her away two years ago. How could she force a contract on her now?
Ji Wan’s tearful accusation made Lin Morou’s heart pound. “Don’t cry. It’s my fault. It’s all my fault. I’m a big jerk, okay? So please don’t cry, it hurts my heart.” Lin Morou gently pulled Ji Wan into her arms, patting her back. But an emotional explosion wasn’t so easily quelled. Ji Wan’s weak fists pathetically hammered Lin Morou’s chest, the sound of the chains clinking with each hit. Her tears soaked Lin Morou’s white robe, leaving marks.
But Lin Morou felt a strange thrill. Ji Wan cared. Lin Morou’s expression turned tender as she gently kissed Ji Wan’s forehead. She whispered in a voice only the two of them could hear, “I love you, Ji Wan.”
