I Just Want to be a Throwaway Character - Chapter 19
Chapter 19: End of World One
The next morning, Ji Wan’s eyes opened in a daze. No one was around. The strong scent of mint on her body was a constant reminder of what had happened last night.
“That beast! He eats and then doesn’t take responsibility.”
Ji Wan sat up in a huff, punching the pillow next to her to vent her frustration. Her voice had a hint of a small, wronged whine.
Gu Nianqing walked in and saw her wife’s cute, angry expression. She guiltily rubbed her nose and walked over. “What’s wrong? Who’s been bothering you?” Gu Nianqing wrapped Ji Wan in a hug, asking the question she already knew the answer to.
Ji Wan glared fiercely at the culprit and retorted angrily, “Gu Nianqing, just keep pretending. Go on, keep pretending.” She then broke away from Gu Nianqing’s embrace and turned her back, sulking. Her puffed-up, adorable look was utterly charming.
Gu Nianqing laughed, leaned in, and hugged Ji Wan again. “How about I treat you to the most expensive dessert set as an apology?”
“No way! Do I look like a person with no backbone? I don’t want to talk to a jerk, a beast, a shameless hooligan like you!” Ji Wan fumed.
“Then how about a limited-edition sports car, and customized luxury goods from your favorite brands? Will you forgive me?” Seeing that desserts weren’t working on Ji Wan, Gu Nianqing upped the ante.
Ji Wan fought the urge to say yes. She was a person of unyielding principle, a true symbol of toughness. How could she possibly bow down to the wicked power of capitalism?
Then, Ji Wan turned around and said with the utmost bravado, “I want two islands, and everything you just said.”
Gu Nianqing chuckled and stroked her wife’s head, thinking how easy she was to please. Ji Wan continued to ramble, “And I want to eat a lot of desserts! Hurry up and go get them ready!”
She then threw off the blanket, intending to leap off the bed. Suddenly, her legs gave out, and she fell right into Gu Nianqing’s embrace, her head hitting her soft chest. Ji Wan’s face instantly went red.
It’s… pretty soft.
Gu Nianqing gently held Ji Wan and kissed her forehead. “Alright, anything you want.” She then carefully picked up the weak-legged Ji Wan and carried her to the bathroom.
“She’s so gentle, that’s true. But I’m not crippled!”
After they were washed and dressed, they sat at the dining table. “Having a wife like this doesn’t seem so bad after all,” Ji Wan thought to herself as she enjoyed the breakfast Gu Nianqing had made.
…
A Grand Wedding
For the next six months, Gu Nianqing spoiled Ji Wan. She planned the most magnificent wedding, costing over a hundred million. The wedding received unprecedented attention from all walks of life. Not only were there figures from every industry, but the heads of the four major families were all in attendance.
Bai Weiwei’s presence as a bridesmaid caused a media sensation. Their wedding concluded under a million spotlights and countless blessings.
The night, however, belonged to the newlyweds.
Over these six months, Ji Wan had been completely won over by Gu Nianqing. She loved her consideration, her tenderness, and her occasional possessive jealousy. She loved her beautiful looks, her talent, and her financial superpower that made her heart flutter every time.
System 111 had automatically gone into hibernation after completing the world’s main tasks, so there was nothing wrong with being the wife of the richest person in the world. Since she couldn’t be a sycophant, being the richest person’s treasured darling wasn’t a bad outcome either.
After her shower, Ji Wan was drying her hair and giggling foolishly to herself in the mirror.
Footsteps approached from behind. Gu Nianqing wrapped her arms around Ji Wan and took the hairdryer from her hands. She gently dried Ji Wan’s hair, her movements as tender as if she were handling a precious treasure.
Looking at the unparalleled beauty after her shower, Ji Wan shamelessly swallowed. So beautiful… My wife is super beautiful, Ji Wan thought, a sense of pride swelling within her. She obediently nestled into Gu Nianqing’s arms, letting her dry her hair.
Thinking about their wedding night, Ji Wan felt a little nervous. Maybe it was because of the previous marking incident, but Gu Nianqing had been incredibly well-behaved, at most kissing and hugging her. If it weren’t for the fierce glint in her eyes sometimes, Ji Wan would have thought her charm was fading.
After her hair was dry, Ji Wan was suddenly lifted and carried to the soft, luxurious bed. The room was a sea of red, with a large “Double Happiness” character pasted on the headboard. The center of the white sheets was covered in vibrant red rose petals arranged in a heart shape, setting the perfect mood.
Ji Wan obediently wrapped her arms around Gu Nianqing’s neck, her face flushed to her ears. She was filled with a strange sense of anticipation.
Gu Nianqing gently placed Ji Wan on the bed. Her soft black hair was spread out on the pure white sheets, the black and white contrast stunning to the eye. The white bathrobe revealed her fair, delicate skin, which was slightly pink with shyness.
Ji Wan’s eyes, momentarily dazed and alluring, were incredibly tempting. Her entire body exuded a subtle invitation, making one unable to help but swallow. Gu Nianqing’s gaze deepened, becoming dangerous. She watched Ji Wan, who was too shy and nervous to open her eyes. Her cheeks were as rosy as a sweet apple, tempting to taste.
Gu Nianqing let out a soft laugh and kissed the corner of Ji Wan’s lips, coaxing her. “Good girl, open your eyes.” The sexy, hoarse, and clearly seductive voice sent shivers down Ji Wan’s spine.
With her eyes closed, her other senses were heightened. Gu Nianqing’s warm breath was very close. Her hands became restless. Ji Wan, flustered and embarrassed, quickly opened her teary eyes. She looked at Gu Nianqing, her dazed eyes filled with a hint of accusation, as if Gu Nianqing was doing something utterly wicked.
Ji Wan pushed against Gu Nianqing’s chest, a little afraid. “How about… next time? I’m… a little scared.” Ji Wan’s pathetic little expression was incredibly convincing. But the flash of cunning in her eyes did not escape Gu Nianqing’s notice.
Gu Nianqing didn’t answer. She just smirked, looking down at Ji Wan’s little scheming.
The next second, Ji Wan suddenly flipped over, pinning Gu Nianqing down. She said with a hint of triumph, “Gu Nianqing, Lin Luo told me the one on top should be the one who’s the top on the first night. You said you’d listen to me the most, so tonight I want to be on top.”
Gu Nianqing looked at her little wife in amusement. She didn’t say anything, but her gentle gaze seemed to give her permission. If she didn’t want to see her little wife’s trick, that small amount of strength wouldn’t be enough to push her down.
Ji Wan sat on Gu Nianqing’s flat stomach and bravely began to untie her bathrobe. Ji Wan was a little impatient. The robe’s tie seemed to have a mind of its own. No matter how she pulled, it wouldn’t come undone. Ji Wan grew a bit anxious and started tugging on it. Seeing the part that Jinjiang doesn’t allow revealed, Ji Wan’s face flushed a deep red.
Gu Nianqing let Ji Wan open the robe. She didn’t say anything, but her dark eyes took on a deep, hungry color. Suddenly, the air was filled with a thick, minty pheromone scent. Ji Wan’s body went limp and she slowly fell into Gu Nianqing’s suddenly upright embrace.
“Gu Nianqing, you’re cheating,hmmm…”
Before Ji Wan could react, her lips were sealed. Gu Nianqing tasted the sweetness in her mouth. Gu Nianqing flipped them over, once again pinning Ji Wan down. She didn’t give Ji Wan another chance to speak, saving her strength for the rest of the night. The now-unleashed hungry wolf wouldn’t let the lamb in its mouth go.
This night was destined to be a tumultuous one. Everything that followed seemed to be a natural progression.
Outside, a pouring rain began. Inside, a flood of passion raged. The moon was hidden by dark clouds. The tide of the sea surged, endlessly washing against the land’s rocks.
A beautiful, ancient song was a gift from a goddess to a warrior, encouraging the warrior to advance into the dark forest. It was a melody of charging forward, defeating the enemy, and welcoming victory.
Ji Wan felt like a drifting bottle on the sea, bobbing up and down with the current, swaying without any support. Her soul felt detached, her body moving by instinct. From behind the closed bedroom doors, sounds that cannot be described occasionally emerged.
…
Decades of Bliss
The next day, it was already noon, but Ji Wan was still fast asleep. It was almost dawn before Gu Nianqing had finally let her go. Ji Wan’s fair skin was covered in purple and red marks. Her lips, especially, were slightly swollen, a testament to Gu Nianqing’s six months of pent-up patience.
Ji Wan slowly began to wake up, but her entire body was so sore that it was difficult for her to even turn over. The pain in a certain area was a constant reminder of how intense last night had been. “Hiss, that beast,” Ji Wan grumbled weakly in her heart as she tried to move her arm.
If it weren’t for her hunger, Ji Wan would have slept all day and night. Ji Wan licked her dry lips, wanting to call Gu Nianqing over. But when she opened her mouth, she realized she couldn’t make a sound. Her throat was dry and sore.
She was thirsty, hungry, and her body ached. And Gu Nianqing wasn’t here. Ji Wan instantly felt wronged, and tears welled up in her eyes. One by one, teardrops fell down her miserable face like a broken string of pearls. She looked so pitiful. She truly hadn’t been a crier before, but she had cried more times since meeting Gu Nianqing than ever before. Gu Nianqing was a complete jerk.
When Gu Nianqing walked in with food, she saw Ji Wan crying, looking so wronged. Her heart panicked. Gu Nianqing quickly put down the tray and walked over, holding the beautiful, sobbing woman wrapped in a blanket in her arms to comfort her. Her voice was full of concern. “What’s wrong? Who’s been bothering you, hm?”
“Is something hurting? I’ll put some ointment on you. Don’t cry,” Gu Nianqing said, gently wiping away Ji Wan’s tears with her thumb.
“Gu Nianqing, you weren’t here, wuwu…” Despite her hoarse voice, Ji Wan hugged Gu Nianqing tightly and accused her.
Gu Nianqing was stunned by the sudden accusation. But then, her heart swelled with love and affection. She looked at the girl clinging to her, and her expression was filled with tenderness. “Okay, my fault. Can you drink some water first?” Gu Nianqing hugged Ji Wan tightly and soothed her.
Ji Wan lifted her tear-stained face and nodded. Wrapped in her blanket, she drank the water Gu Nianqing brought her. The warm, clear water soothed her throat.
After that, Ji Wan became extremely clingy, not allowing Gu Nianqing to leave her side for even a moment.
“People say you get stupid for three years after having a baby, but the host isn’t even pregnant yet and she’s already showing signs,” System 111 commented to itself, filled with speechlessness.
Gu Nianqing, on the other hand, was delighted that her wife was so clingy. She catered to her every whim, feeding her, giving her massages—a perfect model of a devoted wife.
Under Gu Nianqing’s doting care, Ji Wan lived a wonderful life for several decades. It was a life full of family, love, friendship, and success. It was as perfect as a dream.
In the end, Ji Wan closed her eyes in Gu Nianqing’s arms. Gu Nianqing’s last words to her were, “Ji Wan, wait for me. I’ll come with you.”
…
The moment Ji Wan’s soul left, a flash of light followed her. At the same time, in the supreme system space, a faint glow appeared on a god-like woman sleeping in a crystal coffin. But it quickly disappeared, and all returned to peace.
