I Just Want to be a Throwaway Character - Chapter 18
Chapter 18: World’s Best
Ji Wan was in a good mood, watching Lin Luo’s humbled demeanor.
In the end, the meeting concluded after Ji Wan finished off three plates of chocolate cake and five strawberry daifuku. They all went their separate ways, each returning home to their respective partners.
Back at her apartment building, Ji Wan saw Gu Nianqing blocking her door, preventing her from going in.
Ji Wan said helplessly, “Gu Nianqing, what are you doing? I need to go inside, and you should go back upstairs and get ready for bed.”
“Ji Wan, have you forgotten something?” Gu Nianqing asked, holding onto Ji Wan’s wrist.
“Huh? Did I leave something at your place?” Ji Wan asked blankly, clearly not understanding what Gu Nianqing meant.
“We’re married,” Gu Nianqing said, enunciating each word clearly, her gaze stubborn and intense.
“But you only have one bed at your place, and I don’t want to sleep on the sofa,” Ji Wan still hadn’t grasped the point Gu Nianqing was hinting at.
Gu Nianqing let go of Ji Wan’s hand, allowing her to go in. But just as Ji Wan was about to close the door, she quickly forced her way inside.
“Hey! Gu Nianqing, what are you doing?” Ji Wan grumbled at the culprit.
Gu Nianqing ignored Ji Wan and walked straight to the living room sofa, sitting down quietly. Seeing her clearly acting like a stubborn hooligan, Ji Wan softened her tone. “Fine, then you can only stay in the guest room tonight. You’re not allowed to ask for anything else.”
With that, Ji Wan walked toward the bathroom to take a shower, ignoring Gu Nianqing, who sat motionless on the sofa.
When Ji Wan walked out, wiping her wet hair with a dry towel, a faint, sharp scent of mint reached her nose. As she approached the living room, the scent grew stronger.
Something’s not right.
Ji Wan forced herself to walk toward the living room, even as her legs felt weak. “Gu Nianqing, what are you doing? You… you need to put your pheromones away!” Ji Wan was clearly reacting, her face flushed and her legs wobbly. She had to lean on the wall for support.
Not only did Gu Nianqing not back down, but she also stood up and lunged at Ji Wan, burying her face in Ji Wan’s embrace. Ji Wan lost her footing and almost fell with her. She frantically pressed her back against the wall, feeling Gu Nianqing’s head against her chest and the arms that were holding her captive.
Ji Wan pushed back in annoyance. “What are you doing? Put your pheromones away, or I’m not talking to you anymore!”
But Gu Nianqing didn’t respond. She just held Ji Wan tighter. She lifted her head and rubbed her neck against Ji Wan’s, her voice turning hoarse. “Ji Wan…”
The minty scent in the air grew thicker, and Ji Wan felt her entire body weakening. She was being forced to hold a jerk in her arms.
“Let go, now!”
A sudden brush against a sensitive area made Ji Wan’s voice tremble. The pheromones were making her entire body incredibly sensitive.
Suddenly, a pair of arms lifted her up, carrying her to the large sofa in the middle of the living room.
“Ah!” The sudden lift made Ji Wan instinctively wrap her arms around Gu Nianqing’s neck, and all the strength left her body. Then, Gu Nianqing dropped her onto the soft sofa.
Ji Wan’s half-dry hair was spread out on the sofa. She was still wearing her bathrobe, and her fair legs were teasingly visible.
Gu Nianqing leaned over Ji Wan, pinning her to the sofa. She just watched her, completely still. Their faces were very close.
Even though the sofa was soft, the sudden fall made Ji Wan’s delicate body feel a sharp pain. And with someone on top of her—even though Gu Nianqing wasn’t heavy, it was still a considerable weight for the recently differentiated Ji Wan. Ji Wan was about to open her mouth and curse at Gu Nianqing for losing her mind, but when she met her eyes, she froze.
Was Gu Nianqing crying?
Gu Nianqing’s beautiful eyes were droopy, with tears welling up in the corners. Her expression was filled with obsession, but also with a clear vulnerability beneath her cold exterior.
Ji Wan’s heart softened instantly. Her anger completely faded. She reached up and gently touched Gu Nianqing’s soft hair, her voice turning gentle. “What’s wrong? Don’t cry!”
Noticing Gu Nianqing’s strange behavior, Ji Wan guessed that Gu Nianqing’s estrus period had started. At times like this, Alphas become especially dependent on their Omegas.
“Ji Wan, can you love me again, just like you used to? I won’t push you away this time,” Gu Nianqing’s voice was hoarse, tinged with a fragile sob.
It was rare to see Gu Nianqing’s vulnerable side, and Ji Wan couldn’t bear to break her heart. “Okay,” she soothed. In that moment, Ji Wan wasn’t sure if she was being serious, or if she had actually fallen in love with Gu Nianqing.
“I waited five years for you,” Gu Nianqing accused after getting her desired answer, her voice carrying a hint of a wronged child.
Ji Wan thought Gu Nianqing was kind of cute, like an elementary school student keeping a grudge in a little notebook.
“It won’t happen again,” Ji Wan continued to comfort her gently. Alphas in their estrus period are often fragile both mentally and physically.
“You rejected me before, and you hid from me,” Gu Nianqing continued to complain.
Ji Wan’s forehead was almost twitching. She gently tapped Gu Nianqing’s head. “Then what do you want? What do I need to do to make it up to you?” Ji Wan thought to be patient with her, considering her condition. She felt like she was the one who was wronged. Gu Nianqing had rejected her before and now inexplicably tricked her into marriage, and now she was bringing up the past?
Maybe it was her imagination, but after she said that, the minty scent in the air became stronger, pouring straight into her nostrils. Ji Wan’s body reacted instantly. The air was filled with a mixture of mint and a sweet, milky scent, like an aphrodisiac, stimulating her.
“Nngh, Gu… Gu Nianqing. S-Stop your pheromones.” Ji Wan was worried she would lose control if she didn’t stop her and urgently gave the command.
Gu Nianqing’s eyes were red, whether from tears or from the sight of Ji Wan’s vulnerable state. Her gaze was filled with a dangerous, forbidden intent.
“Ji Wan, you owe me compensation.”
With that, she lowered her head to claim her. Her hand moved restlessly toward the belt of Ji Wan’s bathrobe.
(Imagine the rest yourself!)
Ji Wan was forced to endure. Physical tears streamed from the corners of her eyes, and Gu Nianqing kissed them away.
(Imagine it yourself!)
Ji Wan was completely suppressed, unable to speak.
Everything that followed was beyond description. Gu Nianqing marked Ji Wan’s most vulnerable gland. In an instant, the rich scent of mint and milk filled the entire living room.
Without any warning, the sudden marking made Ji Wan’s fair, slender neck arch back. She struggled like a dying swan, fighting for her last breath.
The long process was more than Ji Wan could bear. In the end, she was completely and thoroughly marked by the dominant and forceful pheromones. She belonged completely and utterly to Gu Nianqing, becoming her exclusive Omega.
Ji Wan whimpered softly, unable to endure the powerful pheromones. Gu Nianqing gently kissed the blood from Ji Wan’s gland, then picked her up and held her close. She gently soothed the trembling, pitiful little kitten in her arms.
Gu Nianqing softly patted Ji Wan’s back, satisfied to smell her own scent on her. She tenderly kissed away the tears that continued to fall from Ji Wan’s face, caused by the overwhelming pheromones. She reined in her own scent and comforted Ji Wan until her sobs slowly weakened and she finally fell asleep, exhausted, in Gu Nianqing’s arms.
The little person in her arms, crying so pitifully, was incredibly enchanting. Gu Nianqing carried Ji Wan back to the bedroom bed. Seeing Ji Wan’s eyelashes still trembling and her face tear-stained even in her sleep, Gu Nianqing’s heart ached. She lay down next to her, holding Ji Wan in her arms and gently patting her back until she was truly asleep.
She lightly kissed the lingering tears on Ji Wan’s face, her gaze lost in Ji Wan’s beautiful features. She couldn’t help but hold Ji Wan even tighter, murmuring, “You are finally mine.” The joy in her voice was impossible to hide.
In truth, when she realized she was acting strangely, Gu Nianqing had already decided how to handle it. She even had an inhibitor in her pocket. But seeing that Ji Wan’s attitude hadn’t changed at all, even after they got married, Gu Nianqing panicked. She was scared. She was terrified that Ji Wan would leave her again for another five years.
A bold idea came to her: to mark Ji Wan. So she let herself fall into her estrus period, let her emotions for Ji Wan run wild and unchecked, and even let herself mark Ji Wan, making her completely her own.
Now that her mind was clear, she didn’t regret it at all. In fact, her greatest regret was not keeping Ji Wan five years ago, not making Ji Wan fall in love with her.
For five years, Gu Nianqing had lived in longing for Ji Wan. The feeling of unrequited love gnawed at her like a maggot devouring bone, tormenting her for five years. Ji Wan was her obsession, the “white moonlight” she could never reach. She had brought light to her youth, but she hadn’t known how to cherish it back then. That’s what made Ji Wan leave her for five long years.
She tried to pursue Ji Wan, but she didn’t have the courage to approach her girl. Countless nights, she would wake up from a dream and feel the coldness of her empty hands. She always wondered why it had to be this way. She had even thought of tying Ji Wan up and imprisoning her by her side, never letting her go, no matter how much she cried.
But in the end, her heart ached for her, so she endured for so long, until Ji Wan returned home. Then, she couldn’t hold back anymore. When she saw Ji Wan get into another person’s car and smile at another man, only she knew how strong the rage and destructive feelings were beneath her calm exterior.
Thankfully, now she had her. Ji Wan was in her arms. Ji Wan was covered in her scent.
Ji Wan was hers and hers alone.
