I Just Want to be a Throwaway Character - Chapter 15
Chapter 15: World’s Best
Ji Wan looked up and saw a mature, handsome man in a black suit.
He pulled up in a Maserati and leaned his head out the window.
“Are you Shen An?”
After a long time, Ji Wan finally connected him to the shy, sunny boy she used to know.
“Yeah, I can’t believe you still remember me after all these years,” Shen An said, surprised.
Then he looked at Ji Wan standing alone on the roadside and asked, “You don’t have a car? Do you want a ride? It’s really late now, and it’ll be hard to get a taxi.”
Ji Wan looked around at the deserted road at night. The private restaurant was in a pretty secluded spot, so he was probably right that she couldn’t get a taxi.
“Don’t worry. Even though I’m an Alpha, I’m engaged. I won’t do anything to you. I should actually thank you for rejecting me, because it’s how I met my fiancée,” Shen An said, his ears turning red with embarrassment as he recalled the girl who had gently offered him a handkerchief that night when he was squatting on the ground, feeling helpless.
Ji Wan stopped being coy and confidently opened the car door.
“Thank you, Shen An. And congratulations on finding true love,” Ji Wan said sincerely.
Shen An smiled shyly, thinking of his beloved fiancée.
Unbeknownst to them, a pair of eyes was staring intently from inside a top-of-the-line Maybach not far away. The sight of the girl smiling and laughing with someone else was incredibly jarring.
Shen An dropped Ji Wan off at her apartment complex. Ji Wan thanked him, swiped her card, and walked into the building.
The building had 30 floors, and she lived on the 22nd. The apartment was over 500 square meters, with one unit per floor, which was very convenient. The security was also top-notch, justifying the steep price and location.
Ji Wan was a little excited, thinking about the magnificent city night view she could enjoy from her floor-to-ceiling windows.
She pressed the elevator button and waited for it.
Unbeknownst to her, someone followed her and stepped inside with her.
Ding. The elevator doors opened.
Ji Wan entered, pressed her floor, and the doors slowly began to close.
Just as they were about to shut, the elevator suddenly opened again. Ji Wan looked out, puzzled.
As the doors opened, Ji Wan saw a face that was both familiar and strange to her.
It was Gu Nianqing!!!
Five years had made her more mature and capable. Dressed in a casual khaki trench coat, a white shirt, and black trousers, her cold and noble aura was unmistakable.
She took a long stride into the elevator.
Ji Wan didn’t wonder why Gu Nianqing was here, thinking it was just a coincidence. She had thought the next time she saw her would be at her wedding, but seeing her so soon made her feel inexplicably conflicted.
Seeing Gu Nianqing come in, Ji Wan instinctively retreated, pressing her back against the elevator wall and shrinking into a corner, pretending to be invisible.
Thankfully, Gu Nianqing only glanced at her before turning away and ignoring her. Ji Wan secretly breathed a sigh of relief, assuming that Gu Nianqing, a person of such importance, had a short memory and wouldn’t remember her.
The elevator in this luxury complex was fast. It reached her floor quickly, and Ji Wan hurriedly pulled her small suitcase and walked towards her apartment.
But just as she was about to step out, a sudden pull on her wrist yanked her back. Her suitcase was sent flying into the apartment, and the elevator doors closed again.
“Hiss, that hurts! Gu Nianqing, what are you doing!”
Her back was slammed hard against the wall, and Ji Wan cried out in pain, forgetting that she had just called Gu Nianqing’s name.
Ji Wan’s face was slightly scrunched in pain, but Gu Nianqing didn’t care. She grabbed Ji Wan’s chin and kissed her fiercely.
The kiss was full of jealousy and ferocity. Gu Nianqing’s eyes were filled with a deep, dark possessiveness. Her body was pressed tightly against Ji Wan, holding her captive. Her pheromones, uncontrolled by her anger, filled the elevator with a sharp minty scent.
Ugh. Ji Wan was forced to endure the plunder, and a metallic taste of blood filled her mouth. She struggled to break free, but her hands were pinned tightly above her head by Gu Nianqing’s single hand, leaving her unable to move.
Tears welled up in Ji Wan’s eyes and began to stream down her cheeks.
After a full three minutes, Ji Wan was on the verge of suffocation. Her body’s frantic struggling slowly gave way to a limp, weak state.
When Gu Nianqing was finally satisfied, she gently kissed the tears from Ji Wan’s face, still not releasing her from her grasp.
“W-Who are you, Gu Nianqing! Let me go!”
Finally able to breathe, Ji Wan gasped for air, her voice softened by the kiss. She was furious, her voice trembling from crying.
Bastard. She’s about to get married, but she still won’t leave her alone. That wretched woman, that scumbag Gu. The more Ji Wan thought about it, the angrier she got, and the more her tears flowed.
Gu Nianqing didn’t respond. She just watched her, her cold eyes holding a hint of amusement. Ji Wan’s helpless and fragile state deepened the darkness in Gu Nianqing’s eyes.
She once again crushed Ji Wan’s crimson lips, entering her mouth with a fierce dominance. Ji Wan’s resistance only made the hungry wolf more aggressive. She wanted to kick her, but her legs had gone soft from the kissing, and her whole body was leaning limply against Gu Nianqing, relying on her for support.
The scent of mint in the air stimulated her senses from time to time.
Gu Nianqing looked at the girl who had been teased into a puddle of weakness, her eyes still red from crying and glaring at her fiercely. The empty corner in her heart seemed to be filled in an instant. Five years of hardship were finally met with sweetness, even if it was a sweetness she had taken for herself.
She let out a soft laugh and used the hand that had been holding Ji Wan’s chin to gently wipe the moisture from her lips. The sweet scent of milk was intoxicating.
“What’s wrong? You used to chase after me every day, saying you loved me. Why stop now?” Gu Nianqing’s voice was laced with a hint of wickedness.
“W-Who are you! Go away!” Ji Wan was overcome with a sense of injustice. Why was Gu Nianqing, who was about to have a wife, still provoking her? The feeling was unbearable and frustrating.
She didn’t know that her current tearful, wronged look made Gu Nianqing’s eyes, which were just about to let her go, darken even more.
“Ji Wan, you’re mine now,” Gu Nianqing said possessively as she held the completely limp Ji Wan in her arms.
Five years ago, I couldn’t keep you. Five years later, I’ll stop at nothing to possess you.
“You have a fiancée! Why are you still provoking me, you bastard, you’re a cheater… Ugh.” Ji Wan’s accusations were cut short as her mouth was sealed once again. This time it was even more ruthless, and Ji Wan had nowhere to retreat. Her back was pressed tightly against the cold, hard elevator wall.
“I don’t know where you heard that rumor about me having a fiancée. I only have you,” Gu Nianqing said after the kiss ended. Her thumb gently stroked Ji Wan’s slightly panting lips, and her eyes were filled with an obsessive devotion.
“Let me go, I want to go home.” Ji Wan was exhausted from a long day and from being messed with. She really didn’t want to deal with Gu Nianqing anymore. She didn’t want to bother with her, and she didn’t want to know who her fiancée was.
Ji Wan’s head began to feel inexplicably dizzy. A wave of heat washed over her body, and it felt like her strength was being drained away.
Feeling Ji Wan go soft in her arms and noticing her body was inexplicably hot, Gu Nianqing’s attention was piqued.
A tempting milky scent spread through the elevator, thick and sweet, intertwining tightly with the cold minty scent. It was the scent of an Omega.
Gu Nianqing’s body tensed, her expression unreadable. Realizing that Ji Wan was differentiating, Gu Nianqing quickly pressed the elevator button for the 23rd floor—her own apartment. She carried the unconscious Ji Wan into the bedroom and laid her on the bed.
She had been investigating Ji Wan for years and knew that she had not yet differentiated. Gu Nianqing did not want to forcibly mark Ji Wan while she was unwilling. She suppressed her inner desire and the instinct to mark Ji Wan, leaving the bedroom to get a hold of herself on the balcony, fighting the primitive urges of her genetics. She then called her family doctor.
Meanwhile, in the bedroom, Ji Wan was muttering, “Hot, so hot.”
She tossed and turned on Gu Nianqing’s bed, her dress becoming disheveled and exposing her smooth, pale shoulders. Ji Wan’s face was flushed, and she looked alluring and disoriented.
The air was thick with the rich scent of milk, and her aura was becoming more and more seductive. Her pure white dress and the dark bedsheets created a striking contrast. Ji Wan’s chaotic appearance was like a fallen angel, both seductive and innocent.
In her subconscious, a glass of water was brought to her lips, and Ji Wan drank greedily. After she finished, her half-closed eyes opened, looking at Gu Nianqing with a wronged and affectionate expression.
A strange heat rose in her body. Gu Nianqing awkwardly gave Ji Wan the inhibitor shot that the doctor had brought. The milky scent immediately subsided.
It was a good thing that Gu Nianqing had already taken an inhibitor herself, or she might have lost control and done something she would regret.
“It hurts, ugh. You’re bullying me. I hate you.” Feeling the pain in her body, Ji Wan didn’t care who was in front of her and accused them tearfully. Her expression was both adorable and bewildered.
“Who do you hate, huh?” Gu Nianqing’s voice was hoarse and seductive, like a siren from the sea, luring sailors to their doom.
“Ugh, Gu Nianqing.”
Even though Ji Wan’s mumbled reply was very faint, as if she were half-asleep, Gu Nianqing did not let her go. “Say it again. Who do you hate?” Gu Nianqing asked in a low, threatening voice, her thumb gently stroking Ji Wan’s chin, forcefully teasing the sleepy girl.
Ji Wan, too sleepy, raised her hand to push away the wicked hand. She wanted to ignore Gu Nianqing and go back to sleep. Having differentiated into a delicate Omega, she was already exhausted, but that hateful person wouldn’t let her sleep.
Her tearful eyes, brimming with a sense of injustice, and her tender, pink cheeks were pitiful. But Gu Nianqing’s heart didn’t soften. Her tormenting hand continued to harass Ji Wan, preventing her from falling asleep.
“Gu Nianqing, I’m sleepy, ugh, I’m uncomfortable.” The sleep-deprived Ji Wan gave in to Gu Nianqing, hoping to get some rest.
“Alright. Say you love me,” the malicious tone of Gu Nianqing’s cold voice sounded like a demon from hell.
“Love… love you.” Too sleepy to continue, the girl could only succumb to the demon’s threat and sink into hell.
Perhaps feeling a pang of pity, Gu Nianqing finally let the girl rest. She gently tucked her in and held her while they slept.
Holding the soft girl in her arms, Gu Nianqing’s long-buried love could no longer be hidden.
Gu Nianqing’s eyes were filled with gentle affection as she lightly kissed Ji Wan’s forehead. “What am I going to do? You can’t escape now, Ji Wan.”
When Ji Wan woke up again, she was alone in the bed. She blinked, her mind slowly coming back to her.
“Little 1, what happened? Why did I differentiate?” Ji Wan pieced together the events of the previous night and frantically called out to System 111. She was completely shocked.
Didn’t it say she wouldn’t differentiate??
“Uh, host. I just ran a check, and it looks like the original owner’s Omega rank was so high that it delayed differentiation. Also, the female lead’s pheromones were too strong and accelerated your differentiation,” System 111 explained.
It was also in shock!! It had just discovered yesterday that the female lead was in love with her host and had been frozen for a long time before it could react.
