I Just Want to be a Throwaway Character - Chapter 1
Chapter 1: World One
In the center of a dark space, a large bed floats.
On it sleeps a girl in a pink cartoon nightgown. She has a small, exquisite, melon-seed-shaped face, thin and delicate cherry lips, long, thick eyelashes, and a straight, elegant nose.
Her figure is slender, and her lustrous black hair spreads over her skin, which is as fair as high-quality, soft jade.
Suddenly, the girl’s eyelashes flutter a few times, and she gradually awakens.
As if sensing the darkness, she slowly opens her eyes. Her pure and bright almond-shaped eyes still hold the daze of a new awakening, much like a newborn kitten.
They are cute and full of life, as if a thousand languages are contained within her eyes, like a vast starry sky.
“Hmm… where is this?” The girl awakens, her eyes met with darkness.
Feeling helpless and scared, she gropes around, trying to find something familiar and reassuring.
But there’s nothing…
This isn’t my room. Ji Wan feels a headache coming on. She raises her hand to gently rub her forehead, thinking, “I must have been kidnapped. What kind of a hellhole is this?”
Suddenly, a glimmer of light gradually becomes clear in her eyes. A small, glowing ball flies toward her, circling around her.
Ji Wan reaches out and grabs it. Her eyes are filled with intense curiosity.
The soft, squishy feeling in her hand is very similar to her childhood stuffed toy. She tightens her grip on the little ball.
“Host, stop! It hurts, qwq.” The sudden sound startles Ji Wan, and she nearly throws the ball.
“Host? What are you, and where is this?” Ji Wan asks, kneading the little ball again. She finds she really likes the texture.
“Host, I’m System 111 from the Space-Time Bureau. I specialize in helping protagonists level up in task worlds,” System 111 says.
“Oh. What does that have to do with me? Hurry up and send me home, I’m very busy. I still have to write a novel tomorrow,” Ji Wan says with a frown, her elegant nose twitching and her cute pink lips parting slightly.
“I’m sorry, Host, I’m afraid that’s not possible. You’re already dead,” System 111 states this fact in its electronic voice.
“Huh? What kind of joke are you playing? Me? A beautiful, young girl, about to get a promotion and a raise and reach the pinnacle of my life… dead???”
Ji Wan grabs her hair in disbelief.
“Host, it’s time to wake up. Don’t be so unrealistic with your daydreams,” System 111 retorts.
Host Name: Ji Wan Host Gender: Female Host Age: 22 Host Height: 160cm Host Identity: Orphan Host Education: Just graduated from university Host Social Status: An obscure author Host Romantic History: 0 (an obscure author with no dating experience)
…
“Stop, stop, stop!! Stop reading it out loud.”
Good grief. All of Ji Wan’s secrets have been revealed. She angrily clutches the self-proclaimed system ball.
“So how did I die?” Ji Wan asks, confused. She couldn’t have just died for no reason.
“Ah, the Host died because you were sleeping so soundly that you just… passed away.”
Whether it’s her imagination or not, Ji Wan hears a distinct sense of mockery in System 111’s electronic voice.
Damn it, how embarrassing. This way of dying is so humiliating.
In her 22 years of life, Ji Wan has heard of all kinds of dramatic ways to die, but never one this peaceful.
She doesn’t know whether to cry or laugh. Should she be grateful for such a serene death?
A thousand alpaca-like animals gallop through Ji Wan’s mind.
Seeing the Host squatting in a corner, drawing circles and clearly in a state of self-pity, System 111 searches its “comfort encyclopedia.”
“Uh, Host, you passed away very peacefully. You can smile in the afterlife.”
Then System 111 sees the person who was just drawing circles stiffen. She turns her head and glares at it with her cute almond-shaped eyes before continuing to mope.
“Uh… Host, there’s no need to be too sad. You had no house, no car, no partner, and I’ve already donated your savings of 250 yuan, so you can do the tasks with peace of mind.”
As soon as it finishes, Ji Wan moves. She turns her head, stands up, and pounces on it.
“What kind of screwed-up thing are you?! That 250 was all my life savings!”

Ji Wan kneads System 111 mercilessly, twisting it into all kinds of shapes.
She says, tears welling up, “Do you know how long it took me to save that?”
Ji Wan becomes even more depressed.
“Ow… Host, be gentle, I was wrong.”
System 111 says guiltily. Seeing its even more depressed Host, System 111 speeds up its internal processing to find something to say.
“Uh, Host, as long as you come with me to do tasks in the mission worlds, you’ll have a chance to be reborn after you complete all the tasks,” the system coaxes.
Ji Wan ignores it. The air is quiet, the atmosphere is deathly silent.
“Uh, completing the tasks also comes with a 10 million RMB reward!!” As soon as System 111’s words fall, Ji Wan turns her watery eyes toward it.
“Really? There’s 10 million?” Ji Wan’s eyes light up with a golden glow.
System 111 feels a bit speechless. Its Host isn’t concerned about whether she can live again, but about the 10 million.
Speechless x100
“I’ll do it. It’s just a task. Right, what did you say you were again?”
Ji Wan’s self-pity disappears, and she reverts to her quiet, beautiful girl image (or so she pretends).
“Host, I’m your 111!” System 111 wants to cry. It’s been talking to her for so long, and she doesn’t even know its name.
“Oh, I wasn’t asking your name. I was asking about my… ‘money target.’ Oh, no, I mean, what my task target is.”
Ji Wan is excited inside. With 10 million, she can buy a house and a car and just live a life of leisure…
Just thinking about it makes her drool.
“Host, Host, why are you spaced out?”
System 111 looks at its Host’s lecherous smile, wondering what she’s thinking.
“Ahem, a beautiful girl’s business is none of yours. Hurry up and tell me.”
Ji Wan is uncharacteristically serious. Now, System 111 is no longer a glowing ball in her eyes; it’s a mobile pile of money, the glowing kind.
“Okay.” Seeing its Host staring at it with that strange glimmer in her eyes, System 111 feels cold sweat break out on its non-existent back.
“I was created by the main god. My task is to lead the Host through various novel worlds. You will play the cannon fodder character who appears in the protagonists’ early struggles. You will be the target they beat to a pulp on their path to godhood. Our task is to help the protagonist gain experience and be the target of their ‘face-slapping’ moments. Once the protagonist achieves their goal, the Host’s task is considered complete.”
“Hmm, so it’s just about being an experience point dispenser. Seems pretty simple. Oh, right, are there any rewards for completing the tasks?”
Ji Wan props her chin on her hand, leaning languidly on the sofa that System 111 created for her, and asks lazily.
“Yes, yes. The Host can have fun in the task world, and you’ll have a healthy body in each world, so you can live a very long time,” the system answers eagerly.
“Are you trying to remind me that I died young? ‘Live a very long time…'”
Sigh. Whatever, I’ll just consider it a life experience, Ji Wan thinks.
“Let’s go, let’s do the task,” Ji Wan says, lightly hopping off the sofa.
“Okay, Host. Activating ‘The Richest Man’s Little Sweetheart ABO’ for you.”
What a strange name. Before she can finish her complaint, Ji Wan is enveloped in a white light and loses consciousness.
In a daze, Ji Wan’s mind plays through the plot like a slideshow:
Female Protagonist: Gu Nianqing, the only daughter of the Gu family, one of the four great families. Appearance: Outstanding. Intelligent since childhood, proficient in various arts and talents. The future richest person in City A. Attribute: SSS-level Alpha.
Female Supporting Character: Ji Wan, the youngest daughter of the Ji family, one of the four great families. She has had a crush on the protagonist since childhood but has been rejected multiple times. Her actions are foolish and annoying to the protagonist. Attribute: Unknown.
…
The protagonist’s opportunity to become the richest person: Meets true love and is framed by the supporting character using a dirty trick. In a fit of rage, the protagonist bankrupts the supporting character’s family, accumulating vast wealth for herself.
…
“Wait, what is ABO? It’s not what I think, is it?”
Ji Wan asks System 111 in her mind.
System 111’s科普 of ABO for the Host: This world is divided into six genders: male Alpha, female Alpha, male Beta, female Beta, male Omega, and female Omega.
The protagonist’s identity is an SSS-level Alpha.
Alphas and Omegas are the rarest of the six genders, while the majority of society are Betas.
Of course, Alphas and Omegas have ‘periods of susceptibility’ and ‘estrus periods.’ During these times, their pheromones become uncontrollable, and they urgently need comfort, which can easily cause riots.
Most people differentiate their gender around the age of eighteen.
…
“I get the general idea. So what gender am I? Am I a cool and handsome Alpha or a beautiful Omega?”
Ji Wan asks excitedly in her mind.
“Neither. To better suit the supporting character’s identity, you haven’t differentiated even after turning eighteen, so you’ve been identified as a Beta,” System 111 answers.
“Figures. The supporting character is unloved. Got it, got it,” Ji Wan says, feeling a bit down.
“Host, System 111 will always be your little baby. Host is the best.”
“Just stop, you’re being disgusting. Let’s go,” Ji Wan says disdainfully.
In her consciousness, her soul suddenly enters a body. Ji Wan tries hard to open her eyes.
A large amount of the original owner’s information floods her mind, followed by a tingling, numbing pain. Then, a pair of bright, cute almond-shaped eyes open.
Ji Wan takes in her surroundings. This is the original owner’s room.
It’s a soft pink princess theme, with European-style beds and furniture, a large-screen LCD TV, and a spacious balcony connected to the room.
Good grief. As expected of the only daughter of one of the four great families, one room is bigger than my entire rental apartment.
Ji Wan walks toward the full-length mirror near the balcony to examine the original owner.
“Holy cow, Little 1, isn’t this my face?” Ji Wan complains. This face, this body, isn’t it just me, the beautiful me?
“Did the Host call me? System 111 at your service,” 111’s voice comes from Ji Wan’s mind.
“To help the Host adapt to the original owner’s identity, all tasks will be completed with the Host’s name and appearance,” System 111 explains.
“I didn’t expect you systems to be so smart. It’s a good thing I don’t have to get used to a new face. Not bad, not bad.”
Ji Wan studies her reflection in the mirror, raising her hand to touch her face and sighing, “No wonder they’re a rich family; this face is much softer than before.”
“Host, at this point in time, you will be going to school to play the part of the protagonist’s obsessive stalker. Also, you have half an hour until you’re late for school. Please get ready as soon as possible.”
“Wait, do I have to go to school? This is a fate worse than death. I finally graduated, and now I have to go back to being ruled by exams and homework?”
Tears streaming down face.gif
Ji Wan looks up at a 45-degree angle, speechless. She feels like swearing, but she doesn’t know if she should.
“Yes, Host. The current timeline is in your high school period when you first became obsessed with the protagonist and started relentlessly pestering her. You just need to hold on until the protagonist’s true love appears, the protagonist becomes the richest person, has her little sweetheart, and you manage to preserve the original owner’s family fortune. Then the task is complete.”
“Fine. It’s just going to school. ‘When Heaven is about to confer a great responsibility upon a person, it will first test their will, and strain their sinews and bones.’ How about that, I have nine years of compulsory education experience.”
Ji Wan says, pulling a school uniform out of the closet and chatting with 111.
The girl in the full-length mirror is wearing a pure white shirt. A deep blue blazer is decorated with a golden tassel trim. The custom-tailored cut highlights the girl’s slender figure.
The black buttons are also miniaturized with the aristocratic school’s logo, paired with a red bow tie, a white and black plaid skirt, and pure black leather shoes.
She looks dignified yet full of youthful energy.
No wonder rich people are rich. This outfit costs more than my annual manuscript fees, Ji Wan thinks, gently buttoning her blazer.
She walks out of her room, following the original owner’s memory to the kitchen.
“Aunt Zhang, the same breakfast as usual.”
“Okay, Miss. Please wait a moment,” a kind-looking woman in the kitchen calls out.
I should be glad this is a rich family. The original owner lives alone in a detached villa off campus and doesn’t have to deal with her family, Ji Wan complains in her mind to System 111.
