I Am Her Secret Beauty - Chapter 21
“Don’t… don’t come in!”
Mu Xi’s voice from behind the door sounded hurried, weak, and hoarse.
She must be feeling terrible right now.
Yet she was still so adamant about not letting her in. Tsk.
Nan Xi actually withdrew her fingers from the doorknob and asked with concern, “Really? Are you sure you can handle it?”
Mu Xi clenched her eyes shut in pain.
As if she could.
But Nan Xi was standing outside, her pheromones even more intense than before. If she didn’t leave soon, Mu Xi might lose control before she could inject the high-potency suppressant.
“Miss, I have a high-potency suppressant. It’s fine.”
“How can that be okay?” Nan Xi immediately retorted. “High-potency suppressants have severe side effects. You know that. You’re not allowed to use it.”
“……” And whose fault was it that she had to resort to a suppressant with even worse side effects?
Mu Xi fell silent, removing the protective cap from the syringe and preparing to inject it into her arm.
High-potency suppressants could cause fainting in severe cases, but Mu Xi thought that perhaps passing out was exactly what she needed right now.
Nan Xi waited at the door for a couple of seconds but heard nothing from Mu Xi.
Her teasing mood vanished, and she immediately pressed her right thumb against the door. With a soft click, the lock disengaged.
Mu Xi had locked the door, but this was the Nan household. In theory, there wasn’t a single door the Nans couldn’t open, they usually just refrained out of respect.
But today, Nan Xi was clearly determined to cross that line.
As soon as the door opened, Nan Xi saw Mu Xi collapsed by the bed, clutching a high-potency suppressant in her hand. The room was saturated with the faintly bitter scent of oranges from Mu Xi’s pheromones. She must have been in such a bad state that she’d even forgotten to apply a scent patch, letting the fragrance spread unchecked.
Nan Xi took a couple of light sniffs in the air. The anger she’d felt upon seeing Mu Xi about to inject the suppressant quickly dissipated, her gaze growing somewhat dazed.
“Y-young Miss?” Mu Xi lifted her head with difficulty, peering at Nan Xi through the disheveled strands of hair covering her eyes. She was instantly startled.
Clutching the suppressant tightly, she shrank further against the bed. “Why are you… Please don’t come any closer. I’m begging you.”
If Nan Xi dared to walk around the house dressed like this, it must be late at night.
She was barely wearing anything… just a thin, long coat over skimpy lingerie, the buttons generously left open. Mu Xi could easily see her underwear.
Nan Xi stepped toward her slowly, each movement like a drawn-out torture, slicing into Mu Xi’s resolve.
“Are you asking me to just stand by while you suffer like this? Mu Xi, I can’t do that.”
The fragrance she carried, not belonging to any known flower yet more intoxicating than any blossom, rushed to overwhelm Mu Xi’s senses, leaving her dizzy and disoriented.
With no other choice, Mu Xi tried to inject the suppressant into her arm before her limbs completely betrayed her.
She attempted to push the plunger with her thumb, but a gentle yet firm grip stopped her.
Nan Xi stood before her, bending down to hold her hand, tenderly but resolutely preventing her from going through with it.
Nan Xi pressed a kiss to her burning forehead. “You know why I’m here. Don’t make yourself suffer, okay?”
Mu Xi bit her lip, refusing to speak, and raised her other hand to grip Nan Xi’s tightly, desperately controlling her strength.
Half of her wanted to break free from Nan Xi’s restraint, to push her hand away, to shake her off, but the other half only wanted to rub that delicate, smooth hand fiercely, to crush it into her palm.
“P-please.”
“Let me… inject… the…”
Mu Xi could no longer form complete sentences, only forcing out broken syllables through gritted teeth. She had to clench her jaw tightly to stop herself from kissing her, from biting her.
Nan Xi’s pheromones, Nan Xi herself, was what she wanted most right now, yet also what she absolutely couldn’t have.
“…”
Nan Xi hadn’t expected Mu Xi’s self-control to be this strong.
She had thought it would be easy to have her way, but it turned out not to be so simple.
But it wouldn’t be too difficult, either.
Nan Xi also stopped speaking, using only actions to firmly express her stance. Mu Xi, locked in an internal battle, had lost part of her ability to resist and could only let Nan Xi pry open her fingers one by one, taking the harmful high-potency suppressant from her hand and tossing it aside.
The innocent medication shattered on the carpet nearby, its pale blue liquid slowly seeping out, never to reach Mu Xi’s bloodstream.
Nan Xi watched with satisfaction, then crouched down. Instead of helping her up, she gently cradled Mu Xi’s head, letting her lean against her chest.
Softly, she murmured:
“You know, you picked a good day.”
“Mom, my sister, and my brother aren’t home today. I told the servants not to come tomorrow and already took leave from Professor Yu. Do you know what that means? We have tonight, and the entire day tomorrow.”
“Mu Xi, I’m suffering too. Can you help me?”
Her voice was like a siren’s enchantment, husky and innocent, yet it drilled straight into Mu Xi’s heart, sealing off even the faintest slivers of light within her.
And so, Mu Xi could no longer see anything else, only her, only hear her, only feel her.
Mu Xi didn’t speak.
But soon, Nan Xi felt her embrace grow slick. Mu Xi had lost all will to resist and had begun to lick and kiss her.
This was exactly what she wanted right now.
Nan Xi let out a light, humming laugh.
She delighted in every moment Mu Xi lost to her, in watching her slowly lose her sanity in her hands. That Mu Xi was drowning for her, this realization brought her more pleasure than even the physical act itself.
Nan Xi gently pushed her away, gazing into Mu Xi’s completely dazed eyes. “Not on the floor. It’s cold.”
“You set the air conditioning so low. If we do it on the floor, I’ll catch a cold.”
Though Mu Xi had lost all rationality and couldn’t speak, she still knew letting Nan Xi fall ill was unacceptable. Slowly, she crawled up from the floor, then collapsed onto the edge of the bed, looking at Nan Xi with expectant, desperate eyes.
Nan Xi smiled faintly, climbed onto the bed, straddled her waist, and settled comfortably before leaning down to kiss her lips.
This time, it wasn’t a furtive kiss while she was asleep, she was openly kissing Mu Xi with her full awareness, demanding a response, insisting on one.
Mu Xi was a little clumsy, but that was fine. She would teach her to be even better than before.
Nan Xi devoted herself earnestly to the entanglement of their lips and tongues, allowing Mu Xi to take her sweetness, even tolerating the occasional bite on her tongue. Mu Xi’s current state was somewhat like that of a young beast, unable to speak, expressing her emotions through actions: licking, kissing, biting. The more forceful she was, the stronger her emotions.
When the kiss left Na Xi’s lips slightly numb, she lifted her head, pressing down on Mu Xi’s dissatisfied hand, keeping a few inches of distance between them.
She really wanted to know:
“I have a question. You have to answer me honestly with a yes or no, and only then will I let you continue.”
This was a lie.
Mu Xi looked at her with childlike innocence, and Nan Xi took it as agreement.
“Did your rut come early this time because of me?”
“Because I kissed you, so you thought about it?”
Mu Xi frowned, pondering the meaning of her words for a moment before decisively nodding.
“So honest.” Nan Xi curled her lips into a smile, removing her coat as a reward for her. “Much cuter than when you’re usually so stubborn.”
Mu Xi wasn’t listening to what she was saying.
She only looked, looked at Nan Xi, finding her novel and beautiful, not just wanting to see but also to touch, to make the unclear things clear.
Her reaching hand was blocked by Nan Xi again.
Just as she pouted in dissatisfaction, Nan Xi said, “Show some sincerity too. You take yours off first.”
That was simple enough.
Mu Xi swiftly stripped off her robe and lay bare on the bed, looking at Nan Xi.
The meaning was clear: Your turn.
“You…” Nan Xi stared in surprise at the utter honesty beneath Mu Xi’s robe, clicking her tongue. “…Really not like yourself. And yet, just like you.”
She kept her promise and was equally honest with Mu Xi.
She leaned down again to kiss Mu Xi, but this time not her lips, her chin. With her lips and tongue, she traced the line of Mu Xi’s jaw, from her chin to behind her ear, leaving no spot untouched.
Mu Xi raised a hand to stroke her hair while the other ventured where she wanted to go.
Nan Xi whispered in Mu Xi’s ear:
“It’s been so long since we’ve done this.”
“Be gentle with me. I’m very weak, don’t break me.”
“No, lighter, even lighter… yes, just like that.”
She guided Mu Xi patiently and meticulously, like a teacher, but more tender than any teacher could be.
She offered Mu Xi all her passion unreservedly, kissing her fervently, letting her hear her voice.
After all, there was no one around, they were safe here, free to indulge and revel to their hearts’ content, until the next day when everything returned to normal.
…
Nan Xi let out a muffled groan, Mu Xi had bitten her too hard.
Mu Xi exhaled in relief. She wanted to bite Nan Xi’s scent gland but was stopped again.
Nan Xi had been blocking her a lot tonight, but Mu Xi didn’t mind, because each time she was denied, she was given something she liked even more.
She gazed quietly at Nan Xi, her eyes still clouded, entirely driven by desire. Soon, Nan Xi gave her the answer.
Nan Xi struggled to climb off her, sitting on the bed to catch her breath before declaring, “So tired. I’m lying down now. You get up and go again.”
It wasn’t a lie. Nan Xi’s body was already weak, and after exerting herself to guide Mu Xi, every part of her ached. She just wanted to lie down.
But lying down was one thing, she wasn’t about to let the meat she’d finally gotten her hands on slip away so soon.
So, Mu Xi had to bear with it for now. But judging by her reaction, it didn’t seem like she minded at all.
Sure enough, Mu Xi obediently got up and switched places with Nan Xi, and the teacher-student pair resumed their study session over homework.
Nan Xi lay on her back on the bed, able to see only Mu Xi’s head.
That scene… made her feel a little embarrassed too, so she turned her head away, covering her mouth, and quietly gazed at the swaying tree shadows outside the window and the bright, clear moon in the sky.
So happy.
So content.
So good.
If her past self from five years ago had known a day like this would come, would she have shed fewer tears?
She had never dared to imagine that she and Mu Xi could lie together on the same bed like this, so close, so intimate.
Just as Nan Xi was lost in thought, the hand covering her mouth was suddenly pulled away by Mu Xi.
She looked at her in surprise.
With just one finger, Mu Xi effortlessly lifted the hand that had been shielding her lips. Her voice was hoarse, but she still spoke:
“Don’t… cover your mouth. I want to hear you.”
