How does Long Aotian Have Children? - Chapter 1
One month ago, a massive swarm of alien beasts invaded Colonial Star C2509. It took the simultaneous deployment of War Beast Legions from three provinces of the Myriad Beast Empire to finally annihilate them.
In the wake of the Great War, the colonial planet was left devastated, yet the people arriving today were beaming with joy. Soldiers from all corners of the Myriad Beast Empire gathered in a small, temporarily cleared square. Ignoring the exhaustion of their journey, they excitedly called their friends and family.
Qin Zhen held his communicator high, scanning the camera around the area so his teammates on the other end could see the battlefield.
“Do you see this? There are only about a hundred people here. I heard there were also about a hundred alien beasts. Counting our own fallen War Beasts, there will be no shortage of leftover beast eggs. With one egg per person, there is no need to fight over them.”
“The Boss already has two eggs, so with a beast egg, he will have three,” a teammate joked on the screen. Another teammate blushed and pushed him aside, speaking directly to Qin Zhen. “Captain, you must seize this opportunity and succeed in the fusion.”
Qin Zhen gave a confident, determined smile. “That goes without saying.”
The Path to Power
In this interstellar world, the military was divided into two types: the War Beast Legion and the Solo Soldier Legion.
Solo soldiers relied on conventional weapons. They were not much different from the regular armies in Qin Zhen’s memory and had little power to resist an alien beast invasion. The War Beast Legion was different. Every beast soldier possessed a personally nurtured War Beast that shared a telepathic link with its master. These beasts were swift, physically resilient, and possessed incredible abilities. They were the core force used by the Empire to eliminate alien threats.
Qin Zhen was a solo soldier. He had spent years risking his life to rise from a Basic-rank soldier to a Third-rank soldier. If he continued this way, the best he could hope for was hitting the ceiling of a Second-rank soldier. However, once he nurtured a War Beast and became a beast soldier, he would immediately soar to First-rank status and could even enter the officer ranks.
That was a true leap between social classes. He would not miss such a rare opportunity.
“Your Captain has already memorized the Beast Egg Fusion Manual. It is a guaranteed success.”
To his team, Qin Zhen was a reliable leader. Hearing him speak with such confidence made them tear up with excitement.
“Will the Boss come back after becoming a First-rank soldier?”
“Boss, please do not abandon us. I heard beast soldiers can apply for transfer back to local sectors. Besides, the benefits for beast soldiers in our sector are even better than in the Central Sector.”
“Boss, we are waiting for you to come back and lead us to prosperity.”
Amidst their cries, Qin Zhen’s eyes grew warm. They were the grassroots unit of the Imperial Army. All five members of the squad had originally been Basic-rank soldiers. His success as a captain was inseparable from the trust and support of his brothers. Now that he had found a ladder to the top, he would not abandon his four teammates who remained behind.
He would return with an incomparably powerful War Beast. He would use his military achievements to bring his brothers out of that remote colonial planet.
The Arrival of the God of War
Filled with inspiration, Qin Zhen was about to offer words of comfort when his communicator screen suddenly went black, displaying a “Signal Lost” prompt.
The surroundings fell silent for a moment before an uproar broke out. Following the crowd’s gaze, Qin Zhen looked up. The clouds in the previously clear blue sky began to shift violently. A massive shadow rolled within the dark clouds, and a gargantuan head slowly descended.
It was a White Python. This was the Guardian Beast of the Empire, renowned as the “Python that Uplifts the Heavens.” Its appearance meant its master, the Supreme Commander of the Empire and the First God of War, Cang Bai, had arrived in person.
Qin Zhen’s breath hitched. When he spotted the upright figure standing atop the massive python’s head, his eyes erupted with intense light. His idol had arrived.
It was rumored that the Supreme Commander placed great importance on the birth of new War Beasts and personally inspected the fusion fields every time. It was true. Qin Zhen gazed at the figure clad in a white military uniform. Though the face was obscured, he was mesmerized.
Every transmigrated person wanted to be a Long Aotian. Legends said that when the Myriad Beast Empire was in chaos over a hundred years ago, a twenty-two-year-old Cang Bai and his White Python suppressed all internal and external threats, supported a new King, and opened a new era of history. Since then, he had protected the nation with overwhelming strength for a century, becoming the undisputed First God of War in interstellar history.
A great man should have great ambitions. The aura of riding a War Beast down from the heavens, looking down upon all living beings like a lord of the universe, and bringing peace to the world was exactly Qin Zhen’s dream.
He had worked hard for ten years since his transmigration just to fulfill this dream. Based on the physical age of his body in this world, he was exactly twenty-two this year, the same age the First God of War was during his rise. Most importantly, he had secured the qualification to fuse with a beast egg.
This was destiny. Transmigrators were truly born with a mission.
The Hidden Danger
In such a formal setting, Qin Zhen naturally had no chance for close contact with his idol. At the commander’s order, all participants rushed toward the ruins, breaking through the cordons.
The fusion of a beast egg was the first test. No one was allowed to interfere with the process. After the warships departed, the small square was quickly deserted.
In mid-air, the Supreme Commander looked solemn and majestic. However, no one knew that an irreverent voice was echoing in his mind.
“Hey, Whitey, do you want to go down and play?” His War Beast often gave him ridiculous nicknames.
Cang Bai glanced at the pure silver serpentine pupils of the python beneath his feet. He replied through his thoughts, “Did you find something?”
“Well, it is not exactly a discovery. It is just that there is a strong energy fluctuation in the fusion field. It should be a leftover egg from the highest-level alien beast in this swarm. It might be a bit dangerous to fuse with.”
“Dangerous?” Under the premise of strictly following procedures, there was usually no danger in fusing with a beast egg.
The White Python replied, “It is just an intuition.”
Cang Bai pondered for a moment. “Then let us go take a look.”
The giant python vanished, and the white-clad figure dropped toward the ruins like a falling star.
The Legendary Egg
Finding a beast egg was not difficult. The search for eggs was first-come, first-served. Unlike the bloody treasure hunts described in other novels, this group of participants was quite harmonious. Qin Zhen even kindly reminded someone about an egg under their feet.
Qin Zhen did not stop because he had his own plan. If alien beasts were like a flock of sheep, then the places where eggs were densely packed belonged to low-level minions. The true shepherd would surely be hidden in the rear.
As a transmigrator favored by fate, he firmly believed a legendary beast egg was waiting for him. He was right. About half an hour later, he stared at a massive crater deep within the ruins.
“An ancient divine beast,” he muttered in excitement.
The crater had a radius of over ten meters. The stone half-buried in the center of the pit looked unremarkable, but as Qin Zhen touched its rough surface, he became incoherent. “Son, your father has finally found you.”
The surface of the stone was covered in dust and gravel, looking like a compressed block of trash. This trash was merely the hard shell of the beast egg. Beneath the hard shell was the energy layer, known as the soft shell, which protected the dormant young beast.
“Wait, nurturing?” Qin Zhen suddenly shivered.
This egg was too large. It was as high as an adult’s knee and as thick as a man’s embrace. Could his belly actually hold it? Not to mention giving birth to it. Qin Zhen instinctively squeezed his glutes.
However, he quickly calmed down. Doing what others could not was the hallmark of a Long Aotian. He believed that after stripping away the hard shell, the actual egg would not be that large. Even if it were, the ability to self-heal was a standard feature of all War Beasts, and this ability would be passed to the master. Could a grown man not endure such temporary pain?
Once his psychological preparation was complete, his fear vanished. Qin Zhen stroked the rough eggshell again. “Son, just wait. Your father will soon take you across the stars to achieve greatness.”
The Agony of Fusion
He set up his communicator, turned on the camera, and began the fusion. The fusion process consisted of three steps: digging a hole in the outer shell, dripping blood into the hole, and performing the fusion.
To his surprise, the first step alone took nearly fifteen minutes. The thickness of this egg’s hard shell exceeded ten centimeters. Such terrifying absorption power suggested its energy was beyond imagination.
“Son, are you really an ancient divine beast?”
Qin Zhen suppressed his excitement and began the second step. He cut his index finger and squeezed blood into the hole. But a new problem arose: the hole was too deep, and the shell was too thick. The blood was absorbed by the hard shell before it could even reach the soft shell.
He needed a tool that was over ten centimeters long and straight enough to reach the soft shell but soft enough not to damage it. A flash of inspiration hit him. He looked down and stared blankly at his own body. If he just widened the hole a bit…
“Son,” Qin Zhen stopped himself, dismissing the wicked thought. It would defile his divine beast.
He decided that the only way was to give more blood. This showed his sincerity and perseverance. One finger was not enough, so he used two. When ten fingers were not enough, he used his palms. By the time both of Qin Zhen’s hands and arms were covered in small cuts and he was nearly fainting from blood loss, a crack finally appeared. The hard shell shattered into a pile of debris.
A football-sized, oval-shaped orb of light appeared before his eyes. It was blue, with countless blood vessels pulsing on its surface. Qin Zhen gathered his remaining spirit for the final step: fusion.
By pressing the soft shell against the skin, the beast egg would merge into the body. This step was critical because the location of fusion determined where the War Beast would be nurtured. The abdomen was the safest and most stable location for gestation.
Qin Zhen had to strip completely because the egg was still too large and required both hands to lift. He endured the pain and carefully brought the tip of the egg close to a spot about ten centimeters below his navel. He gently pressed it against his skin.
An intense heat surged through him. The egg’s temperature skyrocketed. The manual stated that the pain of this stage exceeded that of childbirth. Qin Zhen gritted his teeth and watched as the large egg slowly sank into his lower abdomen. Finally, the last glow of blue light vanished, the skin at the fusion site closed, and his flat belly showed no sign of the large egg.
A Violent Reaction
Before he could rejoice, the pain returned even more fiercely. A bulge appeared in his lower abdomen, growing larger and larger. The egg seemed dissatisfied with its host and wanted to burst out. His abdominal skin was stretched so thin that it began to glow with a faint blue light.
The pain was unbearable. It felt as if there was a mass of rampaging lava inside his stomach.
“Son!” Qin Zhen screamed. He clutched his swollen belly and tried to press it down. “Why do you want to come out? Is your father’s belly not big enough? Stay inside for me!”
He no longer knew what he was saying. Inside the giant crater, a naked man clutched his massive stomach, rolling on the ground and screaming. Soon, the pain robbed him of his ability to speak. Only involuntary moans remained.
His consciousness faded into darkness. The only thing supporting his will was the dream of becoming a Long Aotian. This beast egg was extraordinary. As long as he kept it in his belly and successfully gave it birth, he could start his destiny as a hero.
In the final moment before he lost consciousness, Qin Zhen thought he saw the figure of his idol. Tall, upright, and clad in pure white, the figure walked slowly toward him, silhouetted against the light.
