How Can Two Scummy Alphas Fall in Love - Chapter 24
Chapter 24
Her head felt like it had been exploded. The pain was so intense that Han Fufu could barely open her eyes. But she remembered something had happened before she passed out, and she relied on willpower to force her eyes open.
Her vision slowly cleared. The person in front of her was Gu Xue’er, who wore an angelic smile on her face. Just looking at her, she truly seemed like a sweet and lovely Omega.
However, Gu Xue’er’s eyes held ambition and desire.
It was completely contrary to her appearance.
If she were an Alpha, Han Fufu would feel truly afraid.
“You’re awake?” Gu Xue’er sat down in front of Fu Fu. “Don’t be scared. I know you work for Yue Ying.”
“…” Han Fufu breathed a sigh of relief. It was good that Gu Xue’er only knew about her connection with Yue Ying.
Gu Xue’er saw Fu Fu’s calm expression and became even more certain that this woman was not simple. “Do you want to cooperate with me? You can stay by Qin Qiao’s side as my eyes and ears. As far as I know, Fu Yan has already made a move on the Qin family. Once she swallows the Qin family, only the Gu and Fu families will remain of the four major families. If you can be my informant, wouldn’t I be able to reap the rewards, and take all of Qin Qiao’s assets before Fu Yan does?”
As Gu Xue’er spoke, her eyes shone with a frightening intensity, displaying her ambition.
“She is your cousin. What if you’re working with Qin Qiao? Wouldn’t I just become Qin Qiao’s prisoner?” Han Fufu’s greatest fear was that Gu Xue’er was helping Qin Qiao; that would mean Qin Qiao’s position was truly too secure.
Gu Xue’er burst into laughter, finally stopping after a long time.
“What cousin or not? Blood siblings tear each other apart, let alone distant relatives. We are all gathered by profit and scattered when the profit is gone. Do you think people like us talk about familial affection, love, or friendship? It’s all for profit, oh, and dignity.”
“You are a Beta. You simply don’t understand how difficult it is for me, as an Omega, to survive in a major family,” Gu Xue’er stood up. “I’m clearly no worse than my brother, and no worse than my sister. But I can’t be the heir just because I’m an Omega. I’m only fit to be an Alpha’s accessory. No matter how well I do, I am nothing.”
Han Fufu lowered her head, feeling that what Gu Xue’er said made sense.
“Agree to cooperate with me, just… pity me?” Gu Xue’er crouched down. “By the way, have you heard of the Han family?”
To protect her identity, Han Fufu shook her head and then nodded with a placid expression. “I’ve heard of them.”
“The Han family was at its peak back then, yet didn’t it still get ruined in a major fire?” Gu Xue’er couldn’t help but show excitement when she thought of this. “The last heir of the Han family, Han Fufu, the one who looks so much like you, died in that fire. Everyone says Qin Qiao did it. Actually…”
“Actually, I made the fire burn more fiercely. Qin Qiao never intended to kill Han Fufu.” Gu Xue’er smiled smugly. “Ah, but Qin Qiao will die never knowing. She’ll live in regret for the rest of her life. She won’t know that I was the one who tampered with things to cause the explosion and the massive fire.”
“You tell me, and now I know,” Han Fufu’s eyes grew cold.
Gu Xue’er stared at Fu Fu for a very long time. She suddenly stopped smiling, reaching out to touch Fu Fu’s face. “Yue Ying’s family influence is too small. You won’t achieve anything even if you work for her. Help me, and I can guarantee you a worry-free rest of your life. Do you really want to be Qin Qiao’s prisoner forever?”
“Did Qin Qiao ever love Han Fufu?” Han Fufu asked.
Gu Xue’er paused slightly. “Why do you ask that?”
“I see that CEO Qin just needs company. Having me, a stand-in, means she didn’t love Han Fufu that much.”
Gu Xue’er spread her hands. “She might have, after Han Fufu died. Before that, I just provoked her a little, and she dared to lay a hand on Han Fufu, which shows she didn’t love her much. The death of Qin Qiao’s father had nothing to do with the Han family. I just brought up some evidence, twisted the facts a bit, and she believed the Han family killed her father. Don’t you think Qin Qiao can be pretty foolish sometimes?”
Han Fufu’s breathing stalled slightly. She couldn’t allow any major emotional fluctuation at this moment. If Gu Xue’er was trying to provoke her, any sign of excitement would expose her.
“Telling me all this, is CEO Gu not afraid I’ll tell CEO Qin?” Han Fufu countered.
Gu Xue’er, standing against the light, said, “You have two choices: either obey me and be my informant, or end your short life today. You’ve heard all this. Do you think you can walk away safely if you dare to disobey me?”
“How can you ensure I’ll listen to you and not Yue Ying?” Han Fufu remained composed.
“I will have someone watch you,” Gu Xue’er brushed dust off her shoulder. “My only advantage as an Omega is having a loyal dog.”
“Who?”
“Fu Yan will watch you for me. She loves me and will do anything for me.” Gu Xue’er pointed to her head. “I really don’t understand why these people from major families insist on believing in love. But she’s useful to me, so that’s good.”
Hearing this, Han Fufu wanted to mock Gu Xue’er. The person she despised was no longer helping her.
Since Gu Xue’er didn’t know that Fu Fu was Han Fufu, it meant Fu Yan was now fully helping Han Fufu and was no longer loyal to Gu Xue’er.
“No one stays a dog forever,” Han Fufu remarked with feeling.
Gu Xue’er’s expression changed. “What do you know? She does everything I ask. If she doesn’t help me, who would she help?”
Congratulations, you got it right.
Han Fufu couldn’t help but laugh internally. Her so-called “dog” seemed unwilling to be a dog anymore.
Thinking back on the goodwill Fu Yan had shown her recently, Han Fufu knew that Fu Yan had likely given up on Gu Xue’er.
“Fine, I agree,” Han Fufu pretended to accept Gu Xue’er’s offer.
This answer finally satisfied Gu Xue’er, and her doubts about Fu Fu were dispelled. This person wasn’t Han Fufu; she was different, possessing a heightened cynicism toward the world.
“Sometimes you really resemble her,” Gu Xue’er couldn’t help but remark before sending Fu Fu off.
Han Fufu smiled. “Miss Gu, I don’t think I resemble her.”
Gu Xue’er didn’t care about that. She only felt that she had mastered the situation and held the winning ticket.
“It’s enough that Qin Qiao thinks you look like her. Stay by her side and do my bidding.”
After feigning cooperation with Gu Xue’er, Han Fufu was sent back by Gu Xue’er’s people.
Soon after returning to the company, Han Fufu heard people say Fu Yan had arrived.
“Where is CEO Qin’s assistant?” Fu Yan stood anxiously in the lobby of the Qin company. Fortunately, Qin Qiao hadn’t returned yet, or she would surely have noticed something suspicious.
Upon hearing the receptionist’s message, Han Fufu quickly went downstairs and approached Fu Yan. “Are you looking for CEO Qin urgently? Come with me.”
Han Fufu’s words were a warning to Fu Yan, reminding her that this was Qin Qiao’s territory, and she needed to control her emotions.
After Han Fufu was abducted, Fu Yan had been subjected to various probes by Gu Xue’er, which she had endured. Not until she heard that Han Fufu had been released could she finally sit still.
She needed to confirm Han Fufu’s safety.
“Come upstairs. CEO Qin isn’t here. You can tell me if you have any business,” Han Fufu led Fu Yan to the VIP lounge upstairs.
Once in the lounge, Han Fufu specially instructed security to turn off the surveillance cameras in that room.
“Alright, the surveillance is off. What is it?” Han Fufu asked.
Fu Yan quickly stepped forward and embraced Han Fufu. “You scared me to death. I was genuinely worried about you.”
Fu Yan, looking down like that, truly resembled a Golden Retriever.
Perhaps Gu Xue’er calling Fu Yan a dog had some truth to it…
“You know everything now? No wonder Gu Xue’er calls you her dog,” Han Fufu sneered.
Fu Yan’s expression changed. When Gu Xue’er was mentioned, the smile on her face vanished. “She told you? About what happened between her and me?”
“She didn’t say much. She just said you’re her dog and have done a lot for her. Miss Fu, she clearly doesn’t love you. Why throw yourself at her? It’s not worth it,” Han Fufu thought back to how she had chased Qin Qiao, and she felt sorry for Fu Yan. “Also, I know about the past now. But I don’t blame you. You only did it because of Gu Xue’er.”
Han Fufu finally understood why Fu Yan sometimes showed a look of guilt toward her.
“You really are…” Fu Yan sighed, covering her forehead. “If I had met you earlier, there would have been no time for Gu Xue’er.”
“We’ve known each other for a long time; we just haven’t been close. It was true then, and it’s true now,” Han Fufu’s rejection of Fu Yan was quite clear.
But Fu Yan was unwilling to give up. She didn’t want to miss out on a charismatic person like Han Fufu. She genuinely liked the Han Fufu she saw now. It wasn’t about gender or appearance; she truly felt a captivating aura emanating from Han Fufu, inside and out.
“I will revert to being an Alpha, the original Han Fufu. However, I don’t want to hurt anyone anymore,” Han Fufu looked up. “Do you still want to like me, even then?”
Fu Yan chuckled. “What does that matter? I like you, and I will keep pursuing you. Besides, you promised me you would grant me one request when everything is done.”
“Agreed. A gentleman’s word is his bond,” Han Fufu said.
Fu Yan held Han Fufu’s hand. “It’ll be soon. The Qin family is finished. The public opinion is so overwhelmingly negative right now, and the Qin Corporation’s stock price has plummeted. Also, with the board meetings, we’ve made our moves during Qin Qiao’s absences. Her position has been precarious for a long time.”
“Her position is deeply entrenched. It’s not that easy to overthrow her,” Han Fufu sat down next to Fu Yan. “Don’t rush.”
“I can’t wait. I can’t stand seeing her treating you like a stand-in, disrespecting you every day!” Fu Yan was furious thinking about such a ridiculous thing happening right beside her. “Being your own stand-in—only you would come up with that. Fufu, sometimes I truly don’t understand what you’re thinking.”
“Didn’t you demean yourself while chasing Gu Xue’er? I don’t understand what you’re thinking either,” Han Fufu tilted her head.
Fu Yan, frustrated, said, “Forget it. I’ll proceed with my plan. You better not tell me you want to stay by Qin Qiao’s side for a few more days.”
“Impossible. I… I no longer have feelings for her,” Han Fufu said.
Fu Yan’s brow twitched. “Your hesitation means she’s still in your heart.”
Han Fufu remained silent.
Fu Yan: “I will take her down as quickly as possible. You should throw her out of your heart sooner rather than later.”
