- Help! Please Take the Heroine Away [Quick Transmigration]
- Chapter 5 - Kneeling on the ground with lowered eyes, one hand gripping Xie Mingyao's slender, pale ankle
Xie Mingyao’s heart fluttered with panic. She lifted her foot and lightly kicked Ye Qingyu’s calf, urging, “Hurry up and untie me.”
If anyone saw this, they might think they were engaged in some kind of play.
As the dignified eldest daughter of the Xie family, how could she afford to lose face like this!
Seizing the last shred of sobriety, Ye Qingyu quickly untied the necktie wrapped around Xie Mingyao’s wrist. Though the binding hadn’t been too tight, Xie Mingyao’s delicate skin still bore faint red marks.
Under the clear moonlight, those faint red marks looked utterly tantalizing, tempting one to crush this exquisite young lady into pieces.
The moment the necktie came loose, footsteps echoed at the mouth of the alley.
The driver glanced inside and froze for a second upon seeing his young mistress leaning against the wall with an unfamiliar girl in front of her. Quickly regaining his composure, he bowed respectfully. “Young Miss, I couldn’t find you after parking the car, so I came to the bar entrance. Miss Wang mentioned you’d already left, which is how I ended up here. Should I take you home now, or…?”
Xie Mingyao couldn’t be bothered to spare Ye Qingyu another glance. After all, she’d shown a sliver of kindness only to be bitten and treated like that.
The proud young lady couldn’t tolerate such disrespect.
Without even looking sideways, she strode toward the alley entrance. The driver had already pulled the car over and opened the door, waiting for her to step inside.
Just as Xie Mingyao bent to enter the car, she couldn’t help but glance back into the alley.
Ye Qingyu remained motionless in the same spot, her frail figure looking pitiful under the dim moonlight. Her expression was hidden in the shadows, unclear, but Xie Mingyao’s mind conjured the image of a drenched, shivering little puppy.
The resemblance was uncanny.
Xie Mingyao hesitated and consulted the system: Is it really okay to leave the female lead here? The male lead isn’t around, what if something happens to her and they can’t end up together?
The system also considered this issue. Should I send the male lead a message?
A glint of calculation flashed in Xie Mingyao’s eyes as she feigned surprise. You can contact the male lead? That’s an impressive ability!
The system preened. Of course! Not only can I hack into the male lead’s phone and computer, but I also have many other useful functions. Though, unlocking these requires points from the host. Oh, and using them costs points too.
Xie Mingyao’s lips twitched, but the information was valuable enough.
She curved her lips into a sincere smile. You’re amazing. But even if you message the male lead now, he can’t teleport here, he’s not a superhero. What if something happens to the female lead in the meantime?
The system sighed gravely. Then you should take her to the hospital.
Xie Mingyao had been waiting for this very suggestion, yet she still hesitated. Wouldn’t that be out of character?
The system reassured her. It’s still early in the plot, it won’t count as OOC.
Xie Mingyao nodded in realization. Resting a hand on the car door, she called out to Ye Qingyu, who had been left behind in the alley. “You, come here. I’ll take you to the hospital.”
Ye Qingyu lifted her eyes expressionlessly, her dark gaze calmly studying Xie Mingyao for a moment. In the end, she staggered unsteadily toward her.
After struggling into the car, Ye Qingyu seemed to have exhausted all her strength. She immediately leaned against the door, tilting her head slightly to reveal a delicate and fair neck.
The flush on her cold, pale face deepened, as if stained with rouge. Her eyes were tightly shut, and the veins on the back of her clenched fists stood out in a faint blue, making her appear utterly distressed.
Xie Mingyao suppressed the urge to comfort her and instead spoke to the driver, “Take us to the nearest hospital.”
The driver, too, noticed Ye Qingyu’s unusual state and responded with a quick nod before stepping on the gas, speeding off…
The cold air from the AC blew steadily into the backseat, making the interior much cooler than outside. Yet, Ye Qingyu still felt unbearably hot.
Her mouth was parched, and her breathing grew increasingly ragged.
The AC carried a faint scent of roses, a fragrance that came from Xie Mingyao beside her. Unable to resist, Ye Qingyu turned her head, her gaze dark and heavy as she stared at the radiant Xie Mingyao. Then, losing all restraint, she leaned in…
Xie Mingyao froze when she met Ye Qingyu’s bloodshot eyes. Before she could react, her lips were sealed once more.
The girl was inexperienced, her movements rough and feral, like a wild beast gnawing at its prey. The pain nearly brought tears to Xie Mingyao’s eyes.
The driver, startled by the scene, instinctively slammed on the brakes. “Miss, this—”
Xie Mingyao frowned, irritation flashing across her face. “Just keep driving. Get us to the hospital quickly.”
Under the surveillance of the system, Xie Mingyao didn’t dare do anything to Ye Qingyu. When Ye Qingyu tried to lunge at her again, she discreetly pinched her, forcing her to cling to a shred of sobriety until they reached the hospital.
After receiving an injection, Ye Qingyu finally calmed down, lying quietly on the hospital bed. Xie Mingyao didn’t linger, turning to leave, only to find the hem of her dress tightly gripped by a hand.
She glanced back. Even in her unconscious state, Ye Qingyu clung stubbornly to the waist of Xie Mingyao’s skirt, refusing to let go.
The nurse tending to Ye Qingyu’s injuries couldn’t help but smile. “You two must be really close. She won’t even release you while unconscious.”
Xie Mingyao curled her lips. Close my foot.
This was the female lead destined by the system to bring about her tragic downfall. But Xie Mingyao had never believed in fate!
Sitting back down with a sigh, Xie Mingyao thought, This female lead is so annoying. Won’t even let go, am I supposed to stay here all night?!
The system chimed in sympathetically, She lacks a sense of security. Once she’s with the male lead in the future, she’ll be healed.
Xie Mingyao raised a brow. I could heal her too.
But out loud, she scoffed, You’ve really gone all out for the sake of the plot, huh?
Naturally, Xie Mingyao had no intention of obediently sleeping on the nearby couch. Once the nurse finished dressing the wounds and left, she shifted Ye Qingyu to one side of the bed, took off her shoes, and squeezed onto the mattress.
The system shrieked like a startled chicken, Wh-what are you doing?! You can’t sleep with the female lead!!
Xie Mingyao rolled her eyes. Do you really think someone with my personality would suffer for no reason? And why are you so worked up?
The system fell silent, as if realizing its own overreaction.
Smirking inwardly at her small victory, Xie Mingyao closed her eyes and soon drifted off to sleep.
Truthfully, she hadn’t planned to do anything drastic. The plot had only just begun it was too early to rush things. Slow and steady wins the race.
Golden sunlight streamed through the window, filling the room with brightness. On the narrow hospital bed by the window, two young and beautiful women lay asleep in each other’s arms.
To be precise, the girl in the red dress clung tightly to the one in the bar uniform, wrapping around her like an octopus.
Warm and soft, with a faint scent of roses lingering in the air, Ye Qingyu’s eyes snapped open, her dark pupils sharpening instantly as she fixed her gaze on the person holding her.
The pampered young miss, as radiant as a prized peony, had deigned to squeeze onto the hospital bed with her. Her red dress was slightly disheveled from sleep, the hem riding up to reveal a glimpse of her shapely calves. Her fair skin glowed under a soft halo of light, smooth as polished jade.
Her face was buried against Ye Qingyu’s chest, flushed a delicate pink from the warmth, her long lashes pressed against her eyelids. Her delicate brows were slightly furrowed perhaps uncomfortable in such cramped quarters.
Ye Qingyu’s gaze lingered on the other girl’s plump, slightly chapped lips, and memories of last night resurfaced unbidden.
The haughty, untouchable young miss, pinned beneath her in a filthy alley, her slender wrists bound tightly with a necktie, her clear almond-shaped eyes shimmering with unshed tears…
Ye Qingyu took a deep breath and shook her head, forcing the thoughts away.
She shifted slightly, intending to get up, but the bed was too small. The moment she moved, Xie Mingyao stirred awake.
The young miss blinked drowsily, still half-asleep, but the moment her eyes landed on Ye Qingyu, she jolted fully alert.
She sat up abruptly, shooting Ye Qingyu a glare that could kill. Lifting her chin imperiously, she declared with a mix of pride and irritation, “For your sake, I suffered through a night on this awful bed! And after saving your life last night, how exactly do you plan to repay me?”
Ye Qingyu offered a faint, sincere smile. “Thank you. What would you like in return?”
She knew full well she had nothing to offer her pockets were emptier than her face, and Xie Mingyao certainly didn’t lack for money.
Yet Xie Mingyao found herself momentarily dazed by that rare, fleeting smile.
Ye Qingyu’s usual expression was cool and distant, like the untouchable moon but when she smiled, it was like the first thaw of winter snow.
Xie Mingyao’s mouth moved faster than her brain. “Fine. You owe me a favor. Pay me back later.”
Ye Qingyu nodded.
Satisfied, Xie Mingyao bent to slip on her shoes, then suddenly paused. With an imperious flick of her fingers, she commanded, “You bullied me last night. Shouldn’t you make it up to me now?”
Her fair, delicate feet dangled in the air, her pink toes wiggling pointedly, the meaning unmistakable.
The young miss acted as though it were only natural, treating Ye Qingyu like a servant. Her delicate features were full of arrogance, yet somehow, it wasn’t the least bit irritating.
Instead, she resembled a pampered, snow-white kitten, strutting forward with an air of entitlement, meowing imperiously at the one who fed her.
Ye Qingyu’s lashes fluttered slightly as last night’s images flashed through her mind again.
After all, she really had wronged this young miss who had helped her.
After putting on her shoes, Ye Qingyu walked around to the other side, picked up the pair of beautiful crystal high heels, and knelt down on one knee. With her eyes lowered, she gently grasped Xie Mingyao’s slender, pale ankle.
The young lady from a wealthy family was dressed in a striking red strapless gown, its hem still swaying from her earlier movements. She sat in a languid posture, looking down at Ye Qingyu with an air of superiority, the soles of her fair feet tinged with a faint blush.
Ye Qingyu carefully slipped the high heels onto Xie Mingyao’s feet, while Xie Mingyao found it hard to suppress her thoughts.
The aloof and untouchable ice queen kneeling on the ground to put shoes on someone, who could resist the urge to push her further and tease her even more?!
“Done.” Unaware of Xie Mingyao’s thoughts, Ye Qingyu was about to let go when the hospital room door suddenly burst open.
“Xie Mingyao, what are you up to again?!”
