Help! Please Take the Heroine Away [Quick Transmigration] - Chapter 25.2
Without a word, Ye Qingyu turned away and walked toward Xie Mingyao.
The young woman, who had been sprawled across the table, struggled to sit up, her cheeks flushed and her dark, watery eyes hazy with intoxication, an alluring sight.
Xie Mingyao recognized that familiar face. Even though this woman had once been her love rival in school, her current physical state and perilous situation left her no choice but to reach out to Ye Qingyu for help without hesitation.
“Save me,” Xie Mingyao murmured, swaying as she tried to stand and move toward Ye Qingyu, only for her legs to buckle beneath her, nearly sending her crashing to the floor.
Ye Qingyu reacted swiftly, catching her in her arms. “You want me to save you? Do you even know who I am?”
The woman’s cool voice, laced with a husky undertone, brushed against Xie Mingyao’s ear, her warm breath ghosting over her cheek. Xie Mingyao’s breath hitched for a moment.
So mesmerizing. Four years apart, and the female lead’s voice was enough to melt her knees. If not for the system monitoring her thoughts, Xie Mingyao would’ve let out a few shameless whimpers.
She blinked her alcohol-hazed, almond-shaped eyes, one hand gripping Ye Qingyu’s arm while the other slid down to her wrist, her thumb unconsciously grazing the hollow of Ye Qingyu’s palm before slipping away.
“Ye… Ye Qingyu… don’t forget… I helped you back then.” Xie Mingyao spoke with unshakable confidence, as if she’d completely forgotten how she’d once made the other woman serve as her personal maid.
A jolt of electricity seemed to shoot through the spot where Xie Mingyao’s fingers had lingered. Ye Qingyu stiffened imperceptibly, her obsidian-dark eyes boring into Xie Mingyao with an inscrutable intensity.
Xie Mingyao squirmed under her gaze, suddenly worried her earlier gesture had been noticed. Fighting to keep her composure, she wriggled slightly in Ye Qingyu’s hold before lifting her chin defiantly. “What are you staring at? Take me away first.”
Zhao Mingyuan had initially thought his chances were ruined now that Ye Qingyu had taken an interest in Xie Mingyao. But seeing Xie Mingyao’s ungrateful attitude, a sliver of hope reignited in him.
With a temper like hers, Xie Mingyao was bound to anger Ye Qingyu sooner or later. Once Ye Qingyu grew tired of her or threw her out of the Ye household in a fit of rage, wouldn’t that be his opportunity?
Thinking this, Zhao Mingyuan stole a glance at Ye Qingyu and, seeing that she was too preoccupied to pay him any attention, immediately seized the chance to slip away unnoticed.
Out of the corner of her eye, Ye Qingyu noticed Zhao Mingyuan fleeing but didn’t rush to stop him. After all, there would be plenty of time later!
Under the watchful eyes of the crowd, Ye Qingyu scooped Xie Mingyao up in her arms and, steady on her stiletto heels, strode confidently toward the restaurant.
The onlookers couldn’t help but murmur among themselves, some exchanging knowing glances and sharing gossip about this CEO Ye.
The system, seeing its host being carried motionless, anxiously urged: Host, you’re still awake, aren’t you? Get down from the female lead right now.
Ever since discovering the female lead’s feelings for its host, the system couldn’t stand seeing the two of them close. Fortunately, during those years abroad, they hadn’t crossed paths. But now that they were back in the same country and already so intimate, the system was so frustrated it wished it could gouge out its digital eyes.
I can’t. I really do feel a bit dizzy. And if I resist the female lead now, what if she gets angry and refuses to save me? Xie Mingyao couldn’t pretend to be drunk, so she racked her brains for an excuse.
The system fell silent for a moment, unable to come up with a rebuttal.
Xie Mingyao spoke earnestly: System, you need to relax a little. Oh, right, I forgot you don’t have a heart. You’re just made of data.
The system, feeling deeply wounded: …
Xie Mingyao: What are you worried about? You should know that after today, my miserable days will begin.
The system thought, Isn’t it because I’m afraid you’ll realize the female lead’s feelings and then drop some bombshell on me? But it quickly found comfort in its host’s last words and decided not to press further.
The private car was parked right outside the restaurant. Ye Qingyu placed Xie Mingyao in the back seat and sat beside her, then raised the partition to separate the front and rear spaces.
The driver slowly drove toward Ye Qingyu’s usual residence, the interior of the car utterly silent.
Xie Mingyao couldn’t sit still for long. Soon, her head drooped onto Ye Qingyu’s shoulder. In the dimly lit car, the alcohol gradually rose again, clouding her senses and lulling her into a deep sleep.
Ye Qingyu turned her head slightly, quietly studying the person nestled against her shoulder, sleeping soundly. The delicate, palm-sized face was pressed against her shoulder, the plump, rosy lips slightly parted, revealing a glimpse of a crimson tongue.
Her clear almond-shaped eyes were tightly shut, long, thick lashes casting fan-shaped shadows on her eyelids, adorable beyond words.
Ye Qingyu’s calm, deep, and cool eyes gradually softened with tenderness and affection. The intensity of her gaze made Xie Mingyao’s heart race wildly as she feigned sleep on her shoulder.
“Young Miss.”
Ye Qingyu’s unwavering stare and husky voice broke the silence in the backseat. She lifted a slender, pale finger, gently tracing the contours of Xie Mingyao’s exquisite and radiant features, finally stopping at the teardrop mole beneath the corner of her eye.
Suddenly, she remembered that night four years ago when Xie Mingyao left the country. Back then, she had also traced Xie Mingyao’s brows, nose, and lips with her fingertips.
How long had it been?
For four years, she had thought day and night about the Xie family’s young miss, so far away in a foreign land about that sweet kiss, about the marks she had left on the young miss’s neck.
When she was on the verge of breaking, she would pull out the secretly taken photos on her phone for support. Finally, she succeeded only to find the Xie family in ruins.
How could her proud, high-spirited young mistress possibly accept this?
She even entertained a somewhat wicked thought: now that the lofty young mistress had lost the Xie family as her backing, would she have no choice but to rely on her, to please her, to be trapped in her palm, allowing her to act on all those filthy desires that had long simmered within?
The private car soon arrived at their destination. Ye Qingyu carried the sleeping Xie Mingyao out of the car and brought her home.
In the bedroom.
Xie Mingyao was gently laid on the bed. The hem of her fitted green dress had ridden up slightly from being carried, revealing a pair of slender, pale legs.
The dim yellow bedside lamp cast a warm glow over her snow-white skin, giving it a jade-like sheen.
Ye Qingyu’s eyes darkened as she stared unblinkingly. The long-suppressed thoughts in her heart could no longer be restrained. Bracing one hand on the bed, she slowly leaned in, pressing her soft lips against Xie Mingyao’s.
The system was going wild: “Ahhhh! The female lead kissed you! Push her away, quick!”
Xie Mingyao felt like her soul had nearly left her body. She was speechless, but terrified of breaking character and getting electrocuted. She could only open her drowsy eyes and gaze blankly at Ye Qingyu for a moment.
Ye Qingyu paused. Unlike the panic and fear from four years ago, she now remained utterly composed. Calmly, she looked at Xie Mingyao through her gold-rimmed glasses, her expression unreadable.
“Ye Qingyu?” Xie Mingyao widened her damp, soft eyes. Her dazed gaze gradually sharpened, surprise flashing across her face. She quickly sat up, wrapping herself in the blanket like a kitten on the verge of puffing up in alarm.
