Help! Please Take the Heroine Away [Quick Transmigration] - Chapter 24.2
Xie Mingyao was light, almost weightless in her arms. Though she carried the faint scent of alcohol, it wasn’t unpleasant. The tips of her eyes were tinged red from the wine, her beautiful lids shut as if asleep. Stripped of her usual sharp allure, she looked delicate something to be cradled in one’s palm, teased until tears welled up, yet also cherished and protected.
Ye Qingyu laid her on the soft bed, her gaze lingering on those tender lips. Suppressing the restless urges within, she lowered her voice and asked, “Miss, shall I carry you to bathe?”
She asked with utmost seriousness, even giving Xie Mingyao a gentle shake. But the drunk girl was already deep in slumber, offering no response.
“Miss, let me help you bathe. Otherwise, you’ll be uncomfortable.” The words were proper, but Ye Qingyu’s fingers had already found the zipper at the back of Xie Mingyao’s dress.
The zipper slid down gently, and the dress that had been wrapped around her body loosened instantly, slipping off with a light tug. Inch by inch, snow-white skin came into Ye Qingyu’s view.
The system in Xie Mingyao’s consciousness barely suppressed a scream, terrified that if it woke its host, she would see the infatuated, tender gaze and actions of the female lead.
In the clear, undisturbed water of the pool, the girl’s body sank to the bottom. Ye Qingyu also sat in the bathtub, embracing her from behind.
Delicate brows and eyes were dotted with droplets, water trickling down her cheeks, soaking the thick, curled lashes into clumps that clung to her eyelids.
Jet-black hair cascaded down, floating in the water, some strands sticking to Xie Mingyao’s flushed cheeks. The crimson hue of her face, the porcelain-white skin, and the inky black hair these three colors under the light grew increasingly bewitching and striking.
Ye Qingyu gazed at her for a long time before finally lowering her head to press a kiss to her brows and eyes.
“Are you going abroad with Zhou Yanfeng? Will you live together? Will he kiss you then?” The hoarse voice betrayed the emotions she had been struggling to conceal all this time.
In her eyes was a pain and jealousy that Xie Mingyao would never want her to see clearly when sober.
Ye Qingyu bowed her head, her face drawing dangerously close to Xie Mingyao’s turned cheek, their breaths mingling. In her mind, countless scenes of Zhou Yanfeng and Xie Mingyao living together in the future flashed relentlessly.
Ye Qingyu ordered herself to stop thinking about it, but the agony of losing the person before her made it impossible to halt these imaginings.
What loss was there to speak of?
She had never possessed her in the first place.
The pain surging through her heart like violent waves made Ye Qingyu instinctively tighten her arms around the girl in her embrace. Perhaps her grip was too strong it must have hurt, because the girl in her arms let out a soft whimper. Startled back to her senses, Ye Qingyu quickly loosened her hold.
Sometimes, she wished she could be a little more unscrupulous temporarily attaching herself to Zhou Yanfeng, using him to climb step by step, keeping him away from Xie Mingyao, until she reached the pinnacle of the pyramid. Only then could she embrace this person properly.
But…
Something gathered in Ye Qingyu’s eyes, but in the end, she restrained herself, suppressing the dark, negative thoughts rising within her as she carried the girl out of the bathtub.
After drying her with a towel, Ye Qingyu laid Xie Mingyao on the bed and tucked her in. She turned to leave, but her body seemed nailed to the bed, utterly immobile.
A dim yellow nightlight glowed by the bedside, casting the room in deep shadows, with only a faint halo of light around the bed.
The drunken girl lying on the bed had a pale complexion tinged with the faint flush of intoxication, growing even more alluring under the soft light. Ye Qingyu raised a hand, her thumb brushing lightly over the crimson teardrop mole beneath Xie Mingyao’s eye. The touch was feather-light, yet the mole seemed to redden further, as if stained with blood, accentuating the slender, snow-white neck like flawless mutton-fat jade.
Ye Qingyu withdrew her hand, afraid that any firmer touch or lingering would wake the intoxicated girl. Yet her dark, obsidian eyes remained fixed unwaveringly on the treasure lying on the bed.
Filled with a love so deep it was almost frightening, and an unshakable tenderness.
Ye Qingyu leaned in closer, then closer still, until the tips of their noses nearly touched. But before her lips could descend, the girl’s lashes fluttered like delicate feathers. Ye Qingyu froze, her pupils contracting sharply as she recoiled, terrified Xie Mingyao would discover her.
Then the girl opened her eyes, her dark, clear pupils filled only with dazed confusion, clearly still half-asleep. Xie Mingyao pulled her slender arms out from under the blanket and draped them over Ye Qingyu’s shoulders.
“Yanfeng…” The girl’s voice carried the huskiness and murmur of drunkenness, the coquettish tone reserved for a beloved.
All of this made Ye Qingyu’s heart ache unbearably. She blinked lightly, suppressing the sting in her eyes, then lowered her head and kissed Xie Mingyao fiercely not gently, but with a violent, angry passion.
Like an enraged beast, that kiss nearly swallowed Xie Mingyao whole, leaving no room for breath.
Drunk and uncomfortable, Xie Mingyao whimpered softly, struggling to break free, but Ye Qingyu trapped her soft body beneath the blanket, holding her tightly as if trying to meld her into herself, to make her a permanent part of her being, leaving no chance for escape.
“Yanfeng?” Xie Mingyao frowned, murmuring with difficulty, trying to pull away from her grasp especially from this rough kiss.
Even in her drunken stupor, she found it unbearable, but the alcohol had left her weak, with no strength to push the other away. Her feeble, futile struggles only deepened Ye Qingyu’s desire to control her.
“It’s me.” Ye Qingyu pulled away from Xie Mingyao’s lips, her dark eyes fixed on the swollen, bruised skin she had sucked raw. Her voice was low and deliberately husky.
She was despicable, shamelessly responding like this, pretending to be the girl’s beloved. She buried her face in Xie Mingyao’s neck, leaving behind a trail of marks that belonged only to her.
Mistaking the response as confirmation, Xie Mingyao truly believed the person before her was her beloved. Though it hurt, she took a shallow breath and tilted her head up to accept the kisses.
Xie Mingyao’s arms slipped from Ye Qingyu’s shoulders, resting limply on the blanket, her pale pink fingertips trembling. The system in her mind was nearly frightened out of its wits by its host’s current state.
So, was its host actually awake or not?
If not, then it was fine, she was just mistaking the female lead for the male lead and responding accordingly. But if she was awake, then trouble was brewing. They’d have to prevent the host from trying to alter the plot and stir up chaos.
The system was getting a headache from these two. If it was the former, it couldn’t just speak up or use an electric shock, that would wake her. But if it was the latter…
Yet no matter how it analyzed the host’s expression, heartbeat, or other readings, it couldn’t detect anything unusual!
The sharp ringing of a phone on the nightstand finally woke Xie Mingyao from her sleep. She pulled her hand out from under the blanket, fumbling for her phone, and drowsily hung up the incoming call.
A moment later, the bedroom door was pushed open, and Xie’s mother hurried in, pulling the blanket off Xie Mingyao. “Oh, my dear, why aren’t you up yet? Today’s the day you’re supposed to go abroad with that Zhou boy!”
Ye Qingyu, who had followed Xie’s mother inside, fell silent at the mention of “going abroad.”
Xie’s mother had sharp eyes. She immediately noticed the faint marks on Xie Mingyao’s neck. Her body stiffened, and she leaned in closer, scrutinizing them carefully.
Not just one several. A whole trail of them. As someone who had been through it herself, she knew exactly what they were at a glance.
The thought that her precious daughter might have fooled around with another man struck Xie’s mother like a bolt of lightning. She quickly glanced at Ye Qingyu standing at the foot of the bed and urged, “You go out first. I need to talk to Yaoyao alone.”
Ye Qingyu had noticed Xie’s mother’s reaction and was already tense, fearing she might have guessed what happened last night. She was considering countermeasures or how to apologize.
Before she could decide, Xie’s mother spoke up. Her eyes darkened as she stepped out of the room, considerately closing the bedroom door behind her.
Once outside, Ye Qingyu didn’t leave. Instead, she lingered by the door, listening intently through the slight gap she had deliberately left.
“Yaoyao, get up now!” Xie’s mother anxiously shook Xie Mingyao’s shoulders.
Xie Mingyao blinked sleepily at her mother and weakly swatted at her hand. “Mom, stop it… I’m so tired…”
“Tired? You can’t be tired now! Wake up, I need to ask you something!” Xie’s mother’s face was full of urgency.
