Help! Please Take the Heroine Away [Quick Transmigration] - Chapter 10
Ye Qingyu gave her a faint glance. “Keep moving, and I’ll tie you to the chair.”
Ye Qingyu lifted her eyes, looking at her with a calm, unreadable expression before nodding indifferently. “Fine.”
Xie Mingyao, feeling like she had just punched a ball of cotton, grew even more irritated. She glared fiercely at Ye Qingyu and roughly pulled out a chair to sit down.
The screech of the chair against the floor instantly pierced the quiet classroom, drawing the attention of the students who had been listening to the lecture.
Xie Mingyao lazily leaned back, crossing her legs and tilting her chin up slightly. “What are you staring at? Do I have knowledge written on my face?”
The classmates immediately turned their heads away in silence, and the teacher at the podium resumed the lesson.
Xie Mingyao had no intention of paying attention. Seeing Ye Qingyu diligently taking notes, a mischievous smile crept onto her face. Slowly and stealthily, she reached a hand behind her, aiming for Ye Qingyu’s shoulder while she was deeply focused.
Just as her fingertips were about to make contact, Xie Mingyao gave Ye Qingyu’s shoulder a hard slap, expecting her to jump up in shock and disrupt the class.
But Ye Qingyu didn’t even flinch. She didn’t turn her head, continuing to listen and take notes as if nothing had happened. Puzzled, Xie Mingyao craned her neck to look and found Ye Qingyu’s expression as calm as ever completely unfazed. Defeated, Xie Mingyao slumped onto the desk, finding the whole thing utterly boring.
After finishing the lecture, the teacher wrote a few problems on the board and asked the students to solve them before going over the answers.
Xie Mingyao, however, was on the verge of dozing off. Just as she was about to fall asleep, something soft and fuzzy suddenly brushed against her stomach from inside the desk.
“Ahhh!!!” Xie Mingyao shrieked, leaping up from her chair in fright.
The classroom fell into dead silence as every head turned to stare at her. Xie Mingyao was mortified. She looked down, there was absolutely nothing where the sensation had come from.
As she was about to sit back down, Ye Qingyu remarked nonchalantly, “Teacher, Xie Mingyao says she wants to answer the question.”
What nonsense!
Xie Mingyao shot Ye Qingyu an angry glare and declared firmly, “I said no such thing.”
“Then why did you stand up?” Ye Qingyu’s tone was indifferent, but her eyes held a faintly amused glint.
It suddenly dawned on Xie Mingyao, the one who had pranked her earlier was Ye Qingyu. She gritted her teeth, glaring at her.
Wasn’t she supposed to be a model student?!
Wasn’t she supposed to be diligently taking notes and listening to the lecture?!
What was this about disrupting class?!
“Xie Mingyao, you may sit down first,” the teacher said from the podium, barely suppressing a smile as she spoke gently.
Xie Mingyao’s face flushed with embarrassment before paling again. Once seated, she hissed through gritted teeth, “That was you, wasn’t it?!”
“What?” Ye Qingyu tilted her head slightly, her dark eyes feigning confusion.
This girl was really good at pretending!
Xie Mingyao stealthily reached a hand under the desk, intending to punch her, but Ye Qingyu caught it first.
The girl’s hand was slightly cold, sending a shiver down Xie Mingyao’s spine. She tried to pull away, but Ye Qingyu held on tightly, refusing to let go.
“Let go of me! Are your hands made of ice or something?!” Xie Mingyao fumed, both angry and exasperated.
Ye Qingyu gave her a faint glance. “If you move again, I’ll tie you to the chair.”
Xie Mingyao’s face stiffened, and she didn’t dare move the hand that was being held at all. The things Ye Qingyu had done to her a few days ago were still fresh in her memory, and she was genuinely afraid this person would make good on her threat that would be beyond humiliating.
It wasn’t until class ended that Ye Qingyu finally released her grip, her hand now warmed by Xie Mingyao’s. She began packing up her textbooks from the desk.
Seeing her act as if nothing had happened, Xie Mingyao was furious. She abruptly grabbed Ye Qingyu’s hand, lowered her head, and bit down hard.
The sudden pain made Ye Qingyu instinctively try to pull her hand away, but when she met Xie Mingyao’s fierce, almond-shaped eyes, she hesitated.
After all, she had spanked Xie Mingyao in the milk tea shop earlier, and just now in class, she had embarrassed her. If she kept bullying her like this, it wouldn’t end well.
Might as well let her bite me like being gnawed on by a dog.
With that thought, Ye Qingyu stayed perfectly still, letting Xie Mingyao sink her teeth in.
Xie Mingyao was surprised, but since her mouth was occupied, she couldn’t speak. She only bit down harder, as if venting all the grievances she’d suffered over the past few days.
Though, truth be told, she had been the one to provoke Ye Qingyu in the first place.
Soon, Xie Mingyao broke the skin, the metallic taste of blood filling her mouth. She could even feel Ye Qingyu’s hand trembling slightly from the pain.
Xie Mingyao hadn’t actually intended to bite off a chunk of flesh, she couldn’t bring herself to do something that brutal. So, with a show of mercy, she released her grip, tilting her chin up arrogantly.
“Ye Qingyu, consider this a lesson,” she declared triumphantly. “Next time you dare bully me, you’ll regret it!”
Ye Qingyu withdrew her hand, the flesh between her thumb and index finger mangled and bleeding. She glanced at Xie Mingyao, whose lips already naturally full and rosy were now stained with streaks of blood, making them look as if they’d been painted with rouge. The vivid crimson made her resemble a seductive demon from folklore, one who drained people’s vitality.
Suddenly, an enraged voice boomed from the doorway.
“Xie Mingyao! What the hell are you doing?!”
Zhou Yanfeng stormed over, his handsome face twisting in fury when he saw the wound on Ye Qingyu’s hand. The way he glared at Xie Mingyao, it was as if she were his mortal enemy.
“How dare you hurt her like this?!”
Xie Mingyao trembled with anger and hurt. “She hit me first! And just now, she deliberately humiliated me!”
But Zhou Yanfeng wasn’t about to believe her. He sneered. “A pampered princess like you? How could she possibly hit you? Where did she hit you, huh?”
Xie Mingyao pointed at Ye Qingyu, raising her voice. “Ask her! She did hit me! She—”
But when it came to specifying where, Xie Mingyao couldn’t bring herself to say it. The spot was too embarrassing even if it was Zhou Yanfeng, she didn’t want him to know.
“What, can’t even make up a lie?” Zhou Yanfeng’s expression was full of disgust. “I knew it. Someone as malicious as you.”
“Zhou Yanfeng.” Ye Qingyu frowned slightly, displeased by his harsh words.
In her eyes, Xie Mingyao might be spoiled, but she hadn’t actually done anything truly harmful. Even after being spanked in the milk tea shop, all she’d done was try to play a prank in class.
“Yes, Ye Qingyu?” Instantly, Zhou Yanfeng’s demeanor shifted, his voice softening with affection as he gazed at her.
Ye Qingyu said lightly, “This wasn’t bitten by Xie. I wasn’t feeling well earlier and bit myself.”
Zhou Yanfeng didn’t believe a word of it. Moreover, Xie Mingyao still had traces of blood on her lips from the bite. His fondness for Ye Qingyu only deepened, and so did his disdain for Xie Mingyao.
“Xie Mingyao, you’re truly vicious. Just look at yourself, always so arrogant and domineering, bullying others. Meanwhile, Ye here, despite being bullied by you, still speaks up for you!”
Xie Mingyao’s eyes reddened slightly, the usual haughtiness in her gaze replaced by grievance. But she liked Zhou Yanfeng too much to direct her anger at him. Instead, she shot Ye Qingyu a fiery glare. “I don’t need you speaking up for me! I’m warning you Yanfeng is mine. If you dare try to seduce him again, I won’t let you off!”
With that, Xie Mingyao turned and ran out.
Sniffling, she dashed all the way to a secluded spot under the building before pulling out her phone to call her mother. Her mom was probably out shopping or something, because it took several tries before she finally picked up.
“Mom, Yanfeng just yelled at me again over some girl, even called me vicious!” Xie Mingyao’s voice trembled with tears. “We grew up together, and we’re engaged, he’s supposed to marry me! But now he’s fallen for some nobody with no background!”
Her mother brushed it off casually. “Oh, it’s just a small matter. Listen, I’ve been through this before men at this age are easily dazzled by flowers. In a few years, once he’s seen enough women, he won’t be so easily charmed. Just focus on marrying into the Zhou family smoothly and being a good wife. Once he’s had his fun, he’ll remember how good you are.”
“But Mom, what if he doesn’t want to marry me?” Xie Mingyao mentally scoffed at her mother’s outrageous logic but kept up the act, her tone still whiny.
Her mother remained unshaken. “That won’t happen. The ties between our families aren’t so easily broken divorcing an engagement isn’t that simple. I’ve told you before. Alright, alright, I’m shopping right now and don’t have time to chat. Just behave yourself and don’t provoke that girl at least not on the surface.”
Hanging up, Xie Mingyao felt anything but comforted. Pouting, she glared at her phone before turning to head back.
As she walked down the hallway, she ran into Wang Yuzhen and the others. The moment they saw her, Zhou Ruohan asked with concern, “Mingyao-jie, why did you suddenly transfer to Class 1 without telling us?”
“Exactly! We were so worried. Oh, and we heard Zhou-ge scolded you again?” Wang Yuzhen’s eyes flickered with schadenfreude, though her face was full of concern.
“I’ll call my dad later and have him transfer me too,” Tang Yan chimed in.
Leaning lazily against the railing, Xie Mingyao plucked a cigarette-shaped candy from Zhou Ruohan’s pocket and bit into it. Through the window, she glared at Ye Qingyu, who sat primly at her desk, and sneered. “I think Yanfeng is completely bewitched by Ye Qingyu. The moment he saw me, he started yelling and called me vicious!”
“Mingyao-jie, you don’t think Zhou-ge will actually break off the engagement, do you?” Tang Yan’s gaze flickered slightly.
In their circle, mistresses and side chicks climbing their way up weren’t uncommon. If Zhou Yanfeng really ended the engagement for Ye Qingyu and got with her instead, she’d have to seriously reconsider things.
Xie Mingyao scoffed and declared firmly, “How could that be? My mom said our families have been close for generations. Even if Yanfeng wants to break it off, it’s not possible. We’re definitely getting married.”
“Even so, it’s still not a sure thing. Mingyao, if you ask me, the best way is to teach Ye Qingyu a lesson, scratch up her face. And if that’s not enough, strip her clothes off and take some photos. Let’s see if she dares to act so arrogant then!” Wang Yuzhen fumed indignantly on her behalf.
Zhou Ruohan nodded in agreement. “That’s right, Mingyao. That’s the best way.”
Xie Mingyao’s lips twitched as she glanced at Zhou Ruohan, this naive girl.
Wang Yuzhen is using you, and here you are foolishly agreeing, not even afraid of being sold out.
“My mom told me not to provoke her anymore. She said the more I do, the more men will pity the woman being bullied,” Xie Mingyao declined tactfully.
Just as she finished speaking, she saw Ye Qingyu stand up from her seat in the classroom, carrying a stack of homework notebooks as she walked out.
Spotting this, Xie Mingyao raised her eyelids and sneered sarcastically, “Oh, the model student. What are you planning to do now?”
