Help, My Buff Roommate is Begging to Touch my Abs - Chapter 9
Chapter 9: The Fight
After hearing that, Jinbao-er couldn’t help but clench his fists.
“What does their voice have to do with you? Are you the Pacific Ocean Police? You’re sticking your nose in everywhere!”
Then, a powerful, deep voice suddenly rang out.
In an instant, everyone’s gaze shifted toward that tall figure.
The morning sun was just rising in the East, and the sunlight shone from behind Zhao Yuheng’s back. Though they could only see a blurred dark silhouette, that towering, iron-tower-like physique still provided a profound sense of security.
Jinbao-er had almost never scolded anyone; his quarreling ability was practically zero. When he encountered things he couldn’t stand, he could only bottle them up.
But this time, he instinctively looked up at Zhao Yuheng. That feeling of “with him here, I don’t have to swallow my anger anymore” made him instinctively want to seek reliance.
A sudden thought sprouted in his mind.
“Heng-ge, he was mocking me a few days ago too, saying we are birds of a feather that a sissy’s friends are sissies too!” Jinbao-er complained, faking a sobbing tone.
The moment these words were out, he clearly felt Zhao Yuheng’s gaze turn cold and heavy, his eyes widening.
“You son of a bitch, so only you are a ‘man’, huh? Only you have XYY syndrome? Only you were raised without a mother’s guidance?”
“Daring to insult my person you’re a man carrying a lantern in a latrine: looking for death (sh*t)!!”
“You bastard, a piece of trash like you who was born but not raised—even if you licked my shoes, I’d find it disgusting!!”
Zhao Yuheng unleashed an ultimate verbal output. His voice was terrifyingly loud, vibrating the very air around them. It directly alerted the instructor resting in the distance.
The instructor, seeing the situation, began walking toward them.
Neither of the two noticed, especially Wang Meng.
“You f***I’m going to say that one more time!!”
Being insulted so publicly, the habitually arrogant Wang Meng also snapped upright, unable to save face.
“I’ll say it again!! A piece of trash who was born but not raised lick my shoes, lick my feet, lick my ass, I’d still find it disgusting!!”
Zhao Yuheng practically roared the words, his spittle nearly flying onto Wang Meng’s face.
Actually, when Wang Meng was mocking Jinbao-er’s friend just now, he already felt very displeased. Then hearing him call Jinbao-er a sissy wasn’t that the same as insulting Zhao Yuheng himself!?
Today, he was going to scold this piece of trash to death.
Wang Meng, the scumbag, balled up his fists and swung at him. Zhao Yuheng didn’t hesitate either; a fist the size of a sandbag swung right back.
The people nearby scrambled to get away, and the whole scene descended into chaos. The instructors arrived and quickly pulled the two apart.
Zhao Yuheng, having been pulled away, had a cut on the left corner of his mouth that was seeping blood. But he didn’t care at all; he poked his back molars with his tongue. He let out a roguish, arrogant smirk, as if the wound wasn’t an injury, but a medal of honor.
Standing opposite him, Wang Meng was being pinned by an instructor but was still struggling, trying to kick out. After all, on that face of his, the area around his eyes was already swollen and red clearly, he had been hit solidly several times.
Jinbao-er stood to the side, a bit lost.
It’s over.
He only wanted his Heng-ge to help him scold the guy a bit. How did it turn into a physical fight? He even caused his Heng-ge to get hurt. Sinful, truly sinful.
Meanwhile, Hu Xiaowen stood nearby, looking at the heavily panting Zhao Yuheng with an admiring gaze.
This man is so handsome!!
Is this the tallest, most handsome man who did 200 push-ups for my bestie!!
He didn’t expect that only two days after his bestie left his side, he’d already be “eating” something this good!! He was jealous!!
……
In the end, several people were taken to the counselor’s office, including Jinbao-er and Hu Xiaowen.
Even after they left, the small clique from Jinbao-er’s class was still looking in that direction. One girl with a ponytail kept staring at the direction Zhao Yuheng had departed.
“Yang Hui, what are you looking at?”
“Don’t you think that Zhao Yuheng is really handsome?” Yang Hui said with a starstruck expression.
Her best friend beside her looked over and said objectively: “He’s handsome, sure, but he’s too tall and burly. He looks a bit fierce too feels like he might be hard to get along with.”
“I think he’s great. Look, he stood up for his friend and was so generous in drumming up votes for his brother. I think this person is good, very responsible,” Yang Hui said seriously.
Her friend heard this, nodded, and didn’t deny it.
……
Counselor’s Office
The counselor asked for the reason and, knowing Wang Meng started the trouble, severely criticized him and made him apologize to Hu Xiaowen and Jinbao-er. Under the counselor’s pressure and persuasion, Wang Meng reluctantly muttered a “sorry.”
Then the counselor gave Zhao Yuheng a talking-to. After all, scolding someone so harshly in front of everyone was unbecoming of a university student. Zhao Yuheng just let the words go in one ear and out the other, not taking it to heart at all. He even took the chance while the counselor was lecturing him to secretly wiggle an eyebrow at Jinbao-er and mouth the words:
“Don’t be afraid, it’s fine.”
Jinbao-er felt both guilty and moved.
They left the office.
“Hmph! Three dead g@ys!!” Wang Meng spat out this curse. Seeing Zhao Yuheng raising his fist to come at him again, he immediately bolted!
Then Hu Xiaowen said he had taken the day off and didn’t want to go to military training, so he went back to the dorm.
Only after Hu Xiaowen left did Jinbao-er see the silent Zhao Yuheng. He knew the man must have questions to ask. When the time came to ask if he was gay… should he tell him? If he didn’t, was he lying? But if he did, their friendship might be completely over.
Suddenly he felt nervous, his mind a blur. Just as his Heng-ge was about to speak:
“Heng-ge, hold my phone for a second, I’m going to the restroom.”
Because it was so hot, Jinbao-er was only wearing a short-sleeved shirt. The pockets in his pants were too small to fit the phone, so he had to hand it to Zhao Yuheng. Zhao Yuheng didn’t think much of it and took the phone. Then he watched Jinbao-er run toward the restroom.
He walked to a nearby railing, rested his hands on it, and looked downstairs.
He did have some things he wanted to ask Jinbao-er. He wanted to ask if those two had known each other for a long time. He wanted to ask if Hu Xiaowen really was gay. But what he wanted to ask most of all was whether Jinbao-er was gay.
He actually didn’t dare to ask. His palms were already sweating. If Jinbao-er really was gay… he truly didn’t know what to do. At the mere thought of “homosexual,” before even thinking deeply, he felt a wave of nausea rising in his throat.
While he was lost in his confusion, the phone suddenly vibrated. He didn’t have the bad habit of looking at other people’s messages, but this time, he instinctively glanced at the screen.
The screen lit up, popping up a WeChat preview:
Heart’s Tip: Baby, the skirt you bought for me looks so good, thank you~
Seeing this, the giant stone in Zhao Yuheng’s heart suddenly dropped. He let out a long, slow breath, feeling a sense of relief as if he had just survived a disaster. Then he laughed helplessly.
They were worried this kid couldn’t find a wife, yet he had started dating even earlier than them.
“Heart’s Tip”… only he could come up with such a cheesy nickname.
A few minutes later, Jinbao-er walked out of the restroom. He had splashed his face with water; it was soaking wet, dampening the hair at his temples, making him look a bit pitiful.
He walked up to Zhao Yuheng, prepared to face Heng-ge’s interrogation.
“Let’s go back to training.”
Zhao Yuheng had a relaxed smile on his face. He threw an arm around Jinbao-er’s shoulder, the force almost squeezing the breath out of him. Then the two walked toward the training field.
Jinbao-er was dazed.
That’s… it? No questions?
