- Having Played the Villain for Ten Years, I Came Back
- Chapter 14 - The Stalker in the Classroom
Wen Cheng stared in shock at the extra person sitting at the dining table. He wasn’t the only one; the kitchen maids and the butler couldn’t help but fix their gazes on the man. Gu Chi sat there with perfect composure, looking not at all like a guest in a stranger’s home.
The man was tall, with deep, sharp features and expensive clothing. He radiated an aura of immense authority.
“Brother, who is this?” Wen Cheng didn’t recall Wen Linyu inviting anyone over last night, especially someone with such an overbearing presence. If he had seen this man before, he certainly wouldn’t have forgotten him.
However, Wen Linyu’s expression today was icy. When Wen Cheng asked, Linyu didn’t even glance at Gu Chi. He simply said, “No one important.”
Gu Chi wasn’t annoyed by the dismissal. He sat very close to Wen Linyu. Just as Linyu cut a piece of meat and was about to put it in his mouth, Gu Chi suddenly reached out, caught Linyu’s hand, and redirected the fork to his own mouth, swallowing the meat.
Wen Linyu applied force to pull his hand back, regaining his freedom, but he had completely lost his appetite.
How annoying!
Wen Cheng froze again. When the man snatched the meat, Cheng had almost spoken up to warn him; after all, over the past few days, anyone who crossed Wen Linyu ended up regretting it. Yet, this man hadn’t been struck?
More importantly, he actually ate Wen Linyu’s food!
Who on earth was this guy? And what was the relationship between them?
“Gu Chi,” the man said pleasantly. He then looked at the butler and added, “I’ll be living here from now on. As for a room, don’t bother arranging a separate one. I’ll be sleeping with him.”
The butler: Wait, who do you think you are? I’m not your butler!
Wen Cheng, on the other hand, caught the main point: Sleeping with him? That meant they—Holy crap! He wanted to ask when this had started. He had never seen Wen Linyu close to anyone before.
Wen Cheng was dying to gossip, but Wen Linyu looked frozen in anger, and Gu Chi looked like the kind of person who wasn’t “good” the kind who might make you disappear if you said too much.
He could only shut his mouth and eat his breakfast in silence.
When they headed out, Wen Linyu got into the car, and Gu Chi followed right behind him into the back seat. Wen Cheng had intended to sit in the back as well, but Gu Chi cast a single, calm glance his way.
His feet suddenly developed a mind of their own, and Wen Cheng found himself forced to turn around and sit in the front passenger seat instead.
Seeing that Gu Chi intended to follow him all the way to school, Wen Linyu finally couldn’t hold back. “I’m going to class. Why are you following me?”
Gu Chi replied as if it were the most natural thing in the world: “I know. I’m coming along.”
Hadn’t he accompanied Wen Linyu like that for ten years? He was long used to it, even if the school was boring and the lessons were incredibly basic.
Wen Linyu stared at that face. He had occupied this body for ten years, but now that the soul had changed, the same face felt completely different.
It was truly frustrating. He hated this feeling of being under someone else’s thumb.
The car started. Wen Linyu was in no mood to enjoy the scenery along the way because a certain person was pressing close to him again.
Gu Chi took one of Linyu’s hands, pulling it close to inspect it. After looking it over, he began to rub Linyu’s fingertips and knead his knuckles. Finally, he even leaned in and took a bite.
That unfamiliar, intimate sensation made Wen Linyu shiver reflexively. Reaching his limit, he yanked his hand back and instinctively slapped the psychopath across the face.
The slap was loud—so loud that everyone in the car heard it.
The driver nearly swerved, and Wen Cheng blurted out a “Holy shit!” before he could stop himself. He couldn’t help but steal a glance through the rearview mirror.
He saw Gu Chi looking slightly stunned, but there was still no trace of anger on his face. He even touched the cheek where he’d been hit and let out a strange smile, as if he were savoring the moment.
Wen Cheng & The Driver: F… What a total pervert!
Wen Linyu turned his head away, trying to put the man out of his mind, though his slightly tingling palm was a reminder that he had indeed just slapped Gu Chi.
Wen Linyu currently had no cultivation, so the slap was just an ordinary slap from a human.
To Gu Chi, it didn’t hurt, but it did itch a little.
He was indeed savoring it. He couldn’t help but think back to when Wen Linyu had slapped that traitorous subordinate; no wonder that guy had worn such an expression.
It felt like being lightly scratched by a soft cat’s paw.
If he hadn’t realized that Wen Linyu was already genuinely fuming, Gu Chi would have loved to say: Do it again.
For the rest of the trip, the car remained quiet, though the atmosphere was incredibly bizarre. A stranger had suddenly appeared at home, and he seemed to have a complicated relationship with Wen Linyu.
Finally, the car reached the school gates.
Wen Linyu breathed a silent sigh of relief. At least during class, he wouldn’t have to look at this man.
Wen Cheng thought the same. Gu Chi was clearly past school age. Honestly, he felt the man was a bit too old for Wen Linyu. After all, Linyu was only eighteen. This guy had to be at least twenty-eight, right?
Moreover, Wen Cheng searched his memory for anyone named “Gu Chi” in City A but came up blank. He had no idea where Wen Linyu had provoked such a person.
At the gate, Gu Chi watched the security guards and the turnstiles but didn’t try to force his way in.
Wen Linyu couldn’t help but look back at him. Gu Chi smiled and waved, saying, “See you.”
Linyu felt a sense of unease. Having been Gu Chi for ten years, he knew one thing above all: the Great Demon Lord did exactly as he pleased.
He’s not a student at this school; he can’t get in. Does that really mean he won’t come inside?
Wen Linyu doubted it, but for now, the fact that the man wasn’t following him was a blessing. He certainly wasn’t going to be stupid enough to ask why he wasn’t coming along.
Once he was ten meters away from Gu Chi, Wen Linyu realized his cultivation had returned. He didn’t feel a surge of joy; instead, he became highly vigilant.
Would a true Great Villain really be this kind-hearted?
He feared the man was just planning some new trick.
Wen Linyu sat down at his desk with his brow furrowed. His desk mate, who had stopped being afraid of him, immediately shrank back into the shadows, only daring to whisper to the students in the front row.
Wen Linyu wanted to say it wasn’t necessary, but he suddenly received a message on his phone.
He thought it was from Gu Chi, but upon opening it, he saw it was from the person he had pulled out of the drainage ditch yesterday.
It turned out that the person he rescued was the same one who had posted the plea for help on the school forum. The reason his friend request hadn’t been accepted earlier was that the boy had been so tormented by the ghost that he hadn’t had a chance to check his phone.
Sometimes, fate truly worked in strange ways. Even though the request hadn’t been accepted, Linyu had happened to pass by and save his life anyway.
Looking at the string of heartfelt thanks, Linyu’s mood finally improved a little.
But that good mood was short-lived.
“Hmph. Why bother saving him? He sought out his own death. You’re still as soft-hearted as ever.” That familiar voice whispered right into his ear.
Wen Linyu struck back with a palm instinctively. He didn’t hit anyone, but his strike accidentally hit the basketball a boy in the back row was spinning, causing it to explode.
The entire classroom went dead silent.
the boy in the back row nearly lost his jaw, unable to recover for a long time. Are we not allowed to spin balls in class? Is this… is this a capital offense?
Wen Linyu’s face flushed. He muttered a “Sorry” and handed some money to the boy.
No one replied with an “it’s okay”; they were all paralyzed with fear by his sudden outburst.
Another soft mockery sounded in his ear: “Saying ‘sorry’ again.”
Wen Linyu tried to ignore him, but the moment he sat down, his body went rigid. He stood up again immediately.
No one else could see it, but someone was currently sitting in his chair.
The eyes of the entire class were on him again, terrified that he was about to do something drastic. The breathing in the room became very shallow.
Wen Linyu’s lips moved, but no sound came out. Only Gu Chi could hear the words he ground out through his teeth:
“You dead pervert, get lost!”
