The Emperor is a sinister and cruel tyrant. The good news: He is the Imperial Teacher, so he should be exempt from the tyrant’s path of destruction. The bad news: He was the previous Emperor’s Imperial Teacher. The even worse news: The one who ascended the throne is the one who hated the previous Emperor the most.
The Emperor has passed away. To everyone’s surprise, the new Emperor is the most unfavored Fourth Prince. A massive purge has swept through the palace from the inside out; not a single official under the late Emperor has been spared. The only one whose position remains unchanged is the late Emperor’s strategist and teacher. He was kept by the new Emperor, kept right by his side.
When the Imperial Teacher woke up, the first thing he saw was a man whose very presence was as cold as tempered poison. Though his vision was blurred, his mind was sharp; he felt his death was imminent. Ashen-faced, his eyes went dark as he prepared to faint again.
A moment later, his chin was gripped and his face forced upward, compelled to meet a gaze filled with malice and an inscrutable, eerie smile. “What? Are you dissatisfied with being in Our bed?”
Absurd! Rebellious! Frenzied! Bizarre! Ridiculous! But, he was afraid to die!
