Chapter 2: A Lady in the Living Room, a Deviant in the Bedroom
The moment Tao Yao sent her reply, her phone chimed.
A new message popped up in the private DM interface from a user with the ID “L.” It consisted of two words, so concise they bordered on indifferent: “Hello.”
Tao Yao’s heart skipped a beat.
She sat cross-legged on her bed, clutching her phone, her fingers hovering over the screen for several seconds. If she couldn’t figure out who was on the other end, the plan couldn’t proceed. She needed to confirm if this person was indeed the parent who called her a “gold digger,” while simultaneously establishing her persona as a “Relationship Coach.”
Taking a deep breath, Tao Yao began her performance. She typed rapidly, a cunning and spiteful smile curling at the corners of her mouth.
Tao Zhi Yao Yao: “Hello, Big Sister! I saw your post. A complex situation involving status gaps, age differences, and a mix of mother-daughter and teacher-student relationships definitely needs careful handling! But don’t worry, leave it to me!”
To increase her credibility, she combined her experience of reading various romance novels and forum gossip, starting to talk pure nonsense:
Tao Zhi Yao Yao: “To be honest, I have quite a bit of romantic experience and have helped many friends analyze similar problems with a high success rate. A mature, successful woman like you is actually very charming; you might just need a few methods to release signals so the other person can perceive them!”
The message was sent, but it was like a stone sinking into the ocean.
Five minutes, ten minutes, twenty minutes…
Tao Yao stared at the motionless chat interface, starting to feel nervous. No way? Was it too wordy? The other person is clearly a mature, rational workplace elite; would she think I’m a scammer and just block me?
“Sigh, a bad start.” She tossed her phone aside in frustration and scratched her hair. “Whatever, sleep! I still have to deal with that little demon tomorrow, plus rush my manuscript…”
She took a shower, quickly put the matter out of her mind, and climbed into bed exhausted.
After sleeping for an unknown amount of time, the phone by her pillow suddenly vibrated continuously, its screen glowing ghost-like in the dark. Tao Yao groggily grabbed the phone, squinting at the time: 1:30 AM.
When she saw the source of the message, she was instantly wide awake.
L: “Apologies, I just finished an international video conference. I’ve been busy until now and finally have a moment to reply.”
Tao Yao perked up instantly and began typing furiously, committing fully to the “Relationship Coach” bit:
Tao Zhi Yao Yao: “No worries, no worries. Successful people are always busy with a thousand things. Let’s get straight to the point: what is your biggest confusion right now? Is it not knowing how to approach her, or are you worried about your daughter?”
She tried to make her words sound both caring and professional, as if she were a truly helpful relationship expert.
This time, L replied faster than before:
L: “Both. However, before discussing specific issues, I have a question I want to confirm first. Are you a T or a P?”
Tao Yao stared at those two letters on the screen, blinking repeatedly.
T? P? What on earth is that?
As a straight girl, her knowledge of “Saphic circle” terminology was limited to the shallowest level. She vaguely guessed it was to distinguish roles/attributes, but she was completely clueless as to what they specifically corresponded to.
She couldn’t show weakness; showing weakness now would mean all her previous efforts were in vain!
Tao Yao quickly minimized the chat box and opened her browser, frantically searching. After skimming through a few educational posts and forum discussions, she managed to figure it out: “T” usually referred to the active/dominant party, while “P” referred to the passive/submissive party… it was a lot of information, but she got the gist.
So the other person is confirming my ‘attribute’ to better seek advice?
Tao Yao looked down at herself. Under the relentless whipping of her boxer father, she had long ago developed sleek, tight muscles, and her “waistline” was a piece of cake. Back in school, many female classmates couldn’t help but poke her abdomen in amazement, exclaiming dramatically, “Wow, it’s really hard!”
Hmm, I guess I look more like a T?
So, she replied with full confidence: “I am a T, of course. A pure one!”
The moment the message was successfully sent, Tao Yao’s brain buzzed as she suddenly realized—
Crap!
Looking at that Lu Xuelan—her looks, her temperament, that high-and-mighty, “my word is law” attitude—she should be the dominant T no matter how you sliced it! Why was she, a fake, acting like a big shot here? A “Pure T” at that?
Now she’d done it. The attributes didn’t match. The other party would surely think she had no reference value and delete her. She scratched her hair in frustration, already imagining the scene of the other person coldly pressing the delete button.
It’s over, it’s over. The plan to scout the enemy has died before it even began.
Just as she was feeling dejected and preparing to accept the failure of her plan, the DM box jumped again.
L: “Hm, that’s perfect then.”
Tao Yao froze. Perfect? What’s perfect?
Immediately, the next message popped up:
L: “I am a P. Since you are a T, you should understand a T’s thoughts and preferences better.”
L: “I want to know: what kind of P would attract a T’s attention and favor more?”
Tao Yao stared at that line, her eyes widening bit by bit, her mouth hanging open unconsciously.
She… is a P?
That Lu Xuelan—the CEO of a listed group who wore sharp suit skirts, had a gaze that could freeze people to death, spoke words as sharp as knives, and had a ten-foot-tall aura… actually considered herself a P?!
Tao Yao’s first reaction was that she had the wrong person and the other party wasn’t Lu Xuelan at all. But the timing, the relationships, the detailed descriptions… every clue fit perfectly. Could there really be such a coincidence in the world?
A massive sense of absurdity washed over her again. This contrast was too ridiculous! By day, she coldly belittled her as a worthless gold digger; by night, she was secretly on a forum asking how to pursue her—and claiming to be a P…
Her anger seemed to fade, replaced by the excitement of discovering a secret and a wicked sense of fun.
Fine, you old pervert, you repressed flirt! You’re playing both sides quite well! On one hand, you lecture your daughter not to lose her heart to a gold digger; on the other, you’re secretly pining for her yourself, and even pretending to be an innocent P here to ask for advice?
See if “Big Sister” doesn’t play you to death!
A surge of adrenaline-fueled pleasure from a successful prank and a desire for revenge hit Tao Yao. She rubbed her hands together like a soldier about to head to the battlefield, adjusted her posture, and began to talk serious-sounding nonsense:
Tao Zhi Yao Yao: “Big Sister, you’ve hit the nail on the head! Based on my years of experience and common feedback from the sisters in the circle, most Ts actually don’t like Ps who look too flashy or extroverted on the outside.”
She paused, intentionally keeping the other person in suspense.
L: “Oh? Then what do they like?”
She’s hooked! Tao Yao’s eyes lit up as she continued her earnest teaching:
Tao Zhi Yao Yao: “They crave that sense of contrast! To put it simply: someone who looks upright, intellectual, elegant, almost untouchable on the outside—someone who looks very abstinent and dignified. But in reality, in private, they reveal a completely different charm—passionate, active, and even very open… as the old saying goes, the ultimate contrast of ‘a lady in the living room, a deviant in the bedroom’!”
Tao Zhi Yao Yao: “You have to learn to switch between different states; that’s how you truly catch a T’s eye and spark her interest and desire to conquer.”
She mashed together tropes she’d seen in various novels and movies, making it sound very convincing.
L was silent for a while on the other end, seemingly digesting this theory. After a bit, she replied: “The girl isn’t very old; will it scare her? Or make her think I’m frivolous?”
Seeing Lu Xuelan actually worrying about scaring her, Tao Yao nearly burst out laughing. When she called her a gold digger during the day, she didn’t seem to have any reservations.
She suppressed her laughter, her fingers flying: “Big Sister, that’s where you’re wrong. Young people nowadays play very wild in private. If you’re too subtle, she might find you boring.”
L seemed convinced. After a while, she asked a more specific question:
L: “I’m usually in a work setting; my attire is basically formal professional wear like suits, shirts, and skirt sets, mostly in plain colors. According to your theory, do I need some… different clothes?”
Here it comes, here it comes! The main event!
Tao Yao almost laughed out loud. Her eyes darted around as her mischievous thoughts intensified. She immediately exited the chat and quickly opened a shopping app and several websites she visited when collecting materials. She typed in keywords: Sexy, Mature Beauty, Pure Desire, Slip Dress, Battle Robe, Bold Designs…
A dazzling array of product images popped up, each using less fabric than the last with bolder designs. Tao Yao suppressed her laughter while browsing, imagining Lu Xuelan’s cold, emotionless face paired with these clothes… the image was too beautiful; she didn’t dare think about it in detail.
But just thinking about it roughly made her incredibly happy. After careful selection, she took a few screenshots and sent them to L.
The first: A black lace slip nightgown with a deep V-neck that almost reached the stomach and a completely backless design with thin crisscross straps.
Tao Zhi Yao Yao: “Look at this one! Black is an eternal classic, lace adds mystery and temptation, and the deep V and backless design will definitely show off your great figure, Big Sister! This kind of “now you see it, now you don’t” covering is the most heart-stirring! Imagine: you’re at home at night, wearing a silk robe with this underneath, and then she happens to see it… that contrast is perfection!”
The second: A wine-red silk dress, the satin tightly hugging the body’s curves, with a high side slit that revealed the leg lines with every step.
Tao Zhi Yao Yao: “This one! Wine red is super skin-brightening and feminine. The silk material is skin-friendly, high-end, and fits your curves. A looming temptation, you get it? It’s more flavorful than direct exposure!”
The third: A modified Cheongsam-style miniskirt with exquisite cutouts at the chest and side waist, combining Chinese subtlety with Western boldness.
Tao Zhi Yao Yao: “This one has some Chinese elements; it’s perfect for that teacher’s Chinese major background! It’s both dignified and pure desire. I guarantee it will make the other person’s eyes light up and their heart race!”
After sending the pictures and descriptions, Tao Yao held her phone, her shoulders shaking with laughter so hard she almost rolled off the bed. She could almost imagine Lu Xuelan on the other side of the screen, frowning and looking at these disreputable clothes with a face full of disgust—she might even coldly comment that they were unseemly.
Getting her to wear these? Only if the sun rises in the west!
But as long as it could annoy her slightly, Tao Yao felt vindicated.
Sure enough, the other party was silent for even longer. Just as she was feeling a bit disappointed that the game might end there, a message actually came back:
L: “…Aren’t these too revealing?”
Tao Yao couldn’t help but roast her internally: Your daughter is that big already; what haven’t you seen? Why are you acting like an innocent little Pure P with me!
Tao Yao suppressed her laughter and continued to fan the flames.
Tao Zhi Yao Yao: “Big Sister, that’s exactly the effect we want. Contrast, remember?”
Tao Zhi Yao Yao: “Listen to me, you can’t go wrong! Just pick one and let her see it “accidentally.” For example, when you’re at home at night, throw on a cardigan with this black slip dress underneath, and then use the excuse of asking about your daughter’s progress to have some close contact… Your persona will instantly change from “The student’s majestic parent” to “A mysterious and seductive sexy lady.” Your impression points will skyrocket!”
Another long silence followed. Tao Yao waited so long she almost fell asleep. Just as she thought this midnight farce would end with the other person blocking her, the phone vibrated again.
On the screen, three words slowly appeared, seemingly carrying the owner’s immense determination and hesitation:
L: “I’ll try.”
Tao Yao: “!!!”
She lunged up from her bed, staring at those three words in disbelief.
Try… try?
Lu Xuelan was actually going to buy those kinds of clothes? And planned to wear them? And planned to “accidentally” show them to her?
Tao Yao couldn’t help but roll around on her bed clutching her blanket, laughing until tears nearly came out, then quickly covering her mouth for fear of waking the neighbors.
“Hahaha… Lu Xuelan, you have your day too. You called me a gold digger; see if I don’t bluff you until you’re crippled. ‘I’ll try’… pfft!”
This was too fun! This was more melodramatic and exciting than the plots she wrote in her own novels. It was a complete counterattack, a perfect face-slap.
Tao Yao was so excited she couldn’t sleep at all. She repeatedly rehearsed various possible scenarios in her mind, each one making her chuckle and raising her expectations to the max.
She really wanted to see if that repressed flirt actually dared to come and hit on her!
