Forced to Romance the Omega Psychiatrist - Chapter 51.1
Trapped in Bai Shuixi’s embrace, Xia You shifted slightly and softly called her name.
Only then did Bai Shuixi snap out of her daze, instinctively loosening her grip around Xia You’s waist.
When Xia You had left the house, she had draped a long knitted coat over her slip dress—soft and warm to the touch. Bai Shuixi couldn’t resist giving it a light squeeze before letting go.
Xia You: “…”
Surprised, Xia You glanced back at her coat and asked, puzzled, “What was that for?”
“Hmm,” Bai Shuixi cleared her throat, smiling at Xia You, “Just, felt like it. The fabric of this coat is really nice. Do you want to keep walking?”
The crowd remained dense. Xia You stayed close to Bai Shuixi, following her slow steps as she mulled over something before suddenly looking up at Bai Shuixi’s profile. Leaning in, she whispered by her ear, “Did you want to hug me?”
Bai Shuixi: “…”
Temple Street was still bustling, strangers brushing past them as tourists snapped photos while moving forward, unfamiliar faces flickering in and out of view.
Bai Shuixi lowered her gaze to Xia You, at a loss for words. She could only reply in a hushed voice, “Xia You, we’re in public. With people everywhere, and you’re asking me this?”
“In public…”
Bai Shuixi’s words had no effect whatsoever.
Xia You, who hadn’t given it much thought before, now felt a teasing itch at Bai Shuixi’s restrained tone, half wanting closeness, half holding back. Unable to resist provoking her, she stayed pressed against Bai Shuixi’s side, rising slightly on her toes to murmur with a light laugh,
“So, do you want to hug me or not?”
Her soft, crimson lips nearly grazed Bai Shuixi’s ear, warm breath brushing over the shell. Bai Shuixi stiffened for a moment before instinctively steadying Xia You by the waist.
She was starting to think she wanted to head back to the hotel.
“Do you want to kiss me?” Xia You, completely oblivious to the danger, continued smiling up at her, letting Bai Shuixi hold her close.
“Xia You,” Bai Shuixi took a deep breath, fingers tightening around the fabric of Xia You’s coat as she struggled to rein herself in. Relenting slightly, she asked in a low voice, “What exactly are you trying to do?”
“Just asking,” Xia You replied, one hand resting on Bai Shuixi’s shoulder and arm, her gentle eyes brimming with amusement, her expression utterly fearless.
Bai Shuixi studied her face for a moment before suddenly giving Xia You’s waist a firm squeeze through the layers of her coat and dress. Then, without warning, she tugged Xia You in the opposite direction.
“Huh?” Xia You blinked. “Hey?”
The shops along the night market street bore nostalgic, weathered signs, their modest storefronts adorned with red-paper labels that exuded a carefree vibe as if nothing here cost more than twenty bucks. Stalls lined the sidewalks, displaying all sorts of quirky trinkets, while the mingled chatter of locals in Cantonese and tourists in various dialects filled the air with lively energy.
Tall and slender, Bai Shuixi easily spotted the stalls in the distance and the dimly lit corners of the street.
With bodyguards trailing far behind, she pulled Xia You beneath a sign adorned with blue neon lights, striding past a stack of old liquor crates before pressing Xia You against the worn wall of the old alley.
A searing kiss followed.
Before Xia You could react, she was already being kissed. In the brief moments their lips parted, Bai Shuixi’s fingers glided over the smooth, body-hugging slip dress as she murmured, “Now I can kiss you.”
Under the dim lighting, the two kissed for a long time, only separating when their legs grew too weak to stand steadily.
Xia You was already somewhat breathless, leaning against Bai Shuixi to steady her breathing. After a pause, she still felt overwhelmed and couldn’t help but grasp Bai Shuixi’s hand, stammering, “W-wait a moment.”
Bai Shuixi let her lean, not disturbing her as she caught her breath, but continued placing light, intermittent kisses along Xia You’s neck. In a sweet, sticky tone, she whispered coquettishly, “Weren’t you just asking if I wanted to hold you? Well, I do.”
“N-no, that’s not, you should wait too.” Xia You couldn’t hold back and clutched Bai Shuixi’s hand. “I-I was just asking.”
“What so you were just asking without actually intending to let me kiss you?”
Bai Shuixi suddenly understood, lifting her hand to grasp Xia You’s wrist as she looked at her. “Sister, don’t you think you’re being a little mean?”
Xia You quietly turned her face away, stealing glances at Bai Shuixi. “It doesn’t make a difference anyway. You still kissed me..”
“How is that the same?”
Bai Shuixi chuckled teasingly, “This was me pulling you in and forcing you.”
Xia You fell silent, not responding. Somewhere on the temple street, a street performer suddenly made a loud commotion. Distracted, Bai Shuixi glanced toward the noise. In that brief moment, Xia You suddenly stood on her tiptoes, wrapped her arms around Bai Shuixi’s neck, and kissed her.
Feeling the warmth against her lips, Bai Shuixi instinctively lowered her gaze, surprised to see Xia You’s face so close.
Xia You’s eyes were beautiful—when closed, their shape resembled flower petals, her thick lashes trembling slightly. Along with her cautious, restrained movements, they betrayed her nervousness.
Bai Shuixi’s breath hitched before she pressed closer, stealing Xia You’s breath away.
Thanks to Xia You’s momentary impulse, their hidden kiss lasted much longer than intended. By the time they reappeared on the night market street, Xia You’s face still carried an unnatural flush, while Bai Shuixi walked beside her with amusement in her eyes, her lips uncharacteristically red and glistening.
The two bodyguards followed at a distance, their expressions as stoic and serious as ever, as if they hadn’t been standing guard for their bosses at all.
The temple street remained lively. Bai Shuixi strolled leisurely, buying all sorts of trinkets averaging under 30 yuan—some even after debating their aesthetic merits with Xia You.
It wasn’t that she particularly liked them; Bai Shuixi wasn’t the type to be charmed by such novelties. She was simply in high spirits, wanting to mimic Xia You’s cheerful shopping spree, holding hands as they immersed themselves in the street’s vibrant atmosphere.
By the time they reached the end of the street, Bai Shuixi’s hands were full of odd little souvenirs. Their final stop was a goldfish scooping stall.
Noticing Xia You’s eager expression, Bai Shuixi smiled and asked, “Want to give it a try?”
Hearing Bai Shuixi’s voice, Xia You immediately turned her head with an eager “Hmm?” Her clear, beautiful eyes sparkled with light emotions, reflecting the streetlights like a shimmering, crystal-clear stream.
Bai Shuixi couldn’t help but smile. “Come on, let’s go take a look.”
A small crowd had gathered around the stall, where a transparent fish tank lined with LED lights held a large school of bright orange goldfish swimming at a surprisingly brisk pace.
“Have you ever tried goldfish scooping before?” Xia You asked Bai Shuixi in a hushed voice.
“No,” Bai Shuixi replied, frowning slightly as she studied the tank with a serious expression. “I’ve never been to a place like this.”
“Really?” Xia You was a little surprised but quickly regained her composure, leaning in to whisper, “Then just watch me later. I’m really good at scooping fish.”
Bai Shuixi paused, then lowered her head and laughed.
Her cool gaze shifted from the fish to Xia You, who was intently observing how others played the game. Without realizing it, Bai Shuixi’s eyes softened with tender focus.
After watching Xia You for a moment, Bai Shuixi suddenly leaned in closer and asked in a low, greedy voice, “Sister, I really want the fish. A lot of them. Will you give them all to me?”
Xia You, who had been carefully studying the fish’s movements to strategize her scooping, felt her ears tingle at Bai Shuixi’s husky tone. Immediately, her face burned red.
“Well?”
Seeing Xia You blush, Bai Shuixi chuckled teasingly and pressed, “Can I have them?”
“Mhm, sure. I’ll scoop them for you. All of them,” Xia You replied, her face still flushed as she squeezed Bai Shuixi’s hand in return.
Too embarrassed to meet Bai Shuixi’s eyes, Xia You looked away.
But Bai Shuixi’s heart melted at Xia You’s promise, her fingers tightening around Xia You’s hand as she wished this moment could last forever.
“…Um, that kind of hurts.”
After a brief silence between them, Xia You finally whispered, unable to hold back any longer. “Can we hold hands later? I won’t have any strength left to scoop fish.”
Bai Shuixi instinctively loosened her grip, then laughed, adjusting her hold to interlace their fingers properly. With an amused glance away, she teased, “Even if I’m gentle?”
Xia You: “Fine.”
The line for goldfish scooping wasn’t too long, and since multiple people could play at once, it was soon Xia You and Bai Shuixi’s turn. Xia You looked completely focused as she dipped the paper net vertically into the tank, stirring the water lightly.
Unfamiliar with the game, Bai Shuixi simply stood by her side, watching with a smile so tender it nearly spilled from her eyes.
“She got one!”
A soft exclamation came from the crowd.
Bai Shuixi glanced over and saw a goldfish already caught in Xia You’s net.
“That fast?” Bai Shuixi said, surprised.
“I told you I was good at this,” Xia You replied, turning to flash her a grin and a playful wink.
Even the stall owner gave a thumbs-up and praised, “This lady’s really skilled! You don’t see that often.”
Bai Shuixi smiled, her gaze sweeping over the circle of onlookers whose faces were filled with awe. She raised an eyebrow meaningfully and leaned closer to Xia You, whispering a reminder: “They’re all mine, sister. You can’t give them to anyone else.”
Xia You blushed slightly at her words and murmured in response, “There was never anyone else to begin with.”
Bai Shuixi smiled contentedly at that.
In the end, Xia You managed to scoop up six little goldfish, all of which were handed over to Bai Shuixi in a transparent bag.
When she passed the bag to Bai Shuixi, Xia You wore a deliberately indifferent expression, as if it wouldn’t matter if Bai Shuixi didn’t like them. But the slight pursing of her lips and the way she averted her gaze betrayed how much she actually cared.
Seeing Xia You’s expression, Bai Shuixi couldn’t help but laugh.
She held the bag of fish—worth less than 10 yuan on the market—and couldn’t quite understand why she was so happy. She thought that even if someone gifted her an entire pond of prized Ranchu goldfish, she wouldn’t feel anything. But she loved these little fish because Xia You had given them to her.
With a smile, Bai Shuixi took Xia You’s hand and pressed a light kiss to the corner of her lips. “Sister, I love them. Thank you.”
They were still in the middle of the night market, and nearly every passerby close enough had witnessed the kiss. It was a bold, unapologetic declaration of their relationship.
Xia You: “!!!”
She barely had time to react.
Bai Shuixi didn’t linger too long—just a soft brush of her lips before pulling back. Amused by Xia You’s dazed expression, she chuckled and asked, “Shall we go?”
“Ah,” Xia You snapped out of it, her fingertips lightly touching her lips as she murmured, “Go? Are we heading back now?”
“Hmm? Is there anywhere else you’d like to visit?” Bai Shuixi glanced around. They had already explored nearly every corner of the night market, and there wasn’t much left to see.
“Uh, no! Nothing else. Let’s go back now!”
Finally regaining her senses, Xia You quickly cut off any further wandering thoughts and tugged Bai Shuixi’s hand, leading her out of the night market.
The winter night breeze in Harbor City was crisp, carrying the faint, damp scent unique to coastal cities—a gentle coolness against the skin.
Xia You and Bai Shuixi walked all the way to the end of Temple Street, where the Maybach waiting for them was parked by the roadside.
“Let’s go.”
They got into the car together.
On the way back to the hotel, Bai Shuixi didn’t ask the driver to roll up the rear windows, letting the soft night breeze of Harbor City drift in as they made their way back.
The suite had already been prepared with a small fish tank for the goldfish. Bai Shuixi took just enough time to transfer the fish into the tank before turning around and pulling Xia You into a deep kiss.
Their tongues intertwined, the warmth of shared breath giving Bai Shuixi an overwhelming sense of security.
Ever since hearing Xia You’s promise, something had been stirring restlessly in Bai Shuixi’s heart. The journey back had given her plenty of time to think, and now all she wanted was to confirm Xia You’s presence—to claim her breath, her attention, her emotions everything. Every last bit of Xia You.
“W-Wait, we haven’t showered yet.”
Xia You didn’t know what Bai Shuixi was thinking. Dazed, she responded to Bai Shuixi’s kisses. Though completely unprepared, she instinctively clasped Bai Shuixi’s hand and opened her arms without reservation, allowing Bai Shuixi to draw closer.
In the interlocked space between their fingers, Bai Shuixi glanced at Xia You, her gaze so intense it sent tingles down Xia You’s lower back.
“Together?” Bai Shuixi asked.
Xia You paused, hesitating slightly. “What… showering? But—”
“I’ve checked. The bathtub is big enough for both of us.”
Bai Shuixi answered softly, her gaze drifting slowly from Xia You’s brows down to her lips, as if kissing them with her eyes.
Xia You grew flustered under that look, swallowing lightly before impulsively murmuring, “Then, maybe we could…”
Bai Shuixi’s eyes lifted instantly, a pleased smile curving her lips as she wrapped an arm around Xia You’s waist, guiding her toward the bathroom and pushing the door open with her free hand.
Over the next few days, Bai Shuixi spent her time exploring Hong Kong with Xia You, seemingly indifferent to the “business matters” she’d mentioned before their trip. She showed little concern for Zhou Wanwan’s affairs either.
Xia You was somewhat puzzled by Bai Shuixi’s unusually lazy demeanor, but privately, she had no desire to meddle in Li Wei and Zhou Wanwan’s drama, so she didn’t press further.
Bai Shuixi sensed Xia You’s curiosity but deliberately ignored it, pretending not to notice.
Every moment with Xia You was precious. Trivial matters could be handled in the gaps between their dates—they weren’t worth disrupting the atmosphere between them.
“Stand straight. Relax your arms and swing naturally.”
In the hotel’s indoor golf simulator, Bai Shuixi stood behind Xia You, enveloping her completely as she guided her hands through the motions.
Her voice was low as she deliberately nudged Xia You’s knee to correct her stance.
