Forced to Live Together After Picking Up the Child of My Rival Alpha - Chapter 6
Yu Jin cast a complicated glance at Song Yuan without saying a word, then shifted her gaze directly to Luoluo.
Contrary to her usual behavior, Luoluo struggled to climb out of Song Yuan’s embrace, stretching her little hands insistently toward Yu Jin.
“Luoluo, be good, don’t fuss!”
While holding Luoluo with one arm, Song Yuan calmly pressed down the child’s restless hands. Luoluo pouted, her tiny hands still stubbornly reaching toward Song Yuan.
Song Yuan thought to herself, What kind of situation is this? She leaned close to Luoluo’s ear and whispered softly, “That’s not your mommy. Don’t just call anyone mommy!”
Luoluo looked at her with bewildered, helpless eyes, the tears welling up growing larger and larger, making Song Yuan feel inexplicably guilty.
“Miss Song, it seems you’re not very good at handling children. Why don’t you let me take Luoluo?”
Yu Jin could accept Song Yuan’s dislike for her, but she couldn’t stand the way Song Yuan acted so coldly in front of the child. A surge of anger rose in her heart.
The scene of the two alphas vying for the child was quickly turned into memes during the livestream. On one side was the stunningly beautiful Song Yuan, who kept holding the child. On the other was Yu Jin, whose expression was stern and aura subdued, yet exceptionally gentle when facing the child.
Meng Yanyan seized the moment and turned to the camera, saying, “It seems our little friend Luoluo really likes Actress Yu! Who will Luoluo ultimately choose to form a family with? I’m already looking forward to it!”
In the end, unable to hold out any longer, Song Yuan had no choice but to set Luoluo down.
Once freed, Luoluo’s small body instinctively leaned toward Yu Jin.
In a soft, milky voice, she murmured, “Mommy~”
At that moment, Song Yuan felt more heartache than surprise. A genuine sense of frustration welled up inside her. After taking such meticulous care of the little girl for so many days, this ungrateful child was calling Yu Jin “mommy” so happily upon their first meeting.
This time, in front of the camera, Yu Jin shed her usual indifferent demeanor. To accommodate Luoluo’s height, she bent her long legs and crouched down in front of the child.
Her expression softened into a tenderness no one had ever seen before.
Before Song Yuan could even widen her eyes in surprise, she saw Yu Jin extend her slender, well-defined hand, gently wiping Luoluo’s face and then carefully smoothing the child’s disheveled hair, tousled from her earlier struggles.
“Luoluo, don’t cry.”
Compared to the Yu Jin of the past, this newfound gentleness was enough to leave everyone astounded.
The barrage went wild the moment the two began vying for the child. When Yu Jin, defying expectations, started comforting the child, the viewers went even crazier.
Yu Jin’s massive fanbase flooded the screen with exclamation marks, carrying their collective excitement.
【Yu Jin’s : Ahhhh!!! My wife is so gentle!!!】
【Hibiscus Flower #: I’m going insane!!! So this is how gentle my sister can be! A once-in-a-lifetime moment, ahhhh!!!】
【Bright Future @ Yu: I want to be Luoluo! I am little friend Luoluo!!! Sob, Old Yu, touch my face, touch me, touch me.】
【Yuan Yuan’s Big Wife: Why is Yu Jin suddenly so nice to this child? Little Luoluo has been raised by my wife Yuan Yuan all along.】
【Yuan Yuan Lying Beside Me, Do Not Disturb: I don’t get what’s going on, but I bet Song Yuan’s face is green right now.】
Song Yuan’s face wasn’t exactly green after years in the entertainment industry, she had mastered the art of keeping a straight face even in the most shocking situations.
Ma Tianmeng seized the opportunity and stepped forward. Facing Yu Jin with a hint of shyness, she also crouched down to Luoluo’s eye level and said, “Little Luoluo, you’re so adorable. Would you let me be your mommy?”
Song Yuan looked down at the three of them, sneering inwardly. They really looked like a perfect little family, didn’t they? So infuriating!
Even as anger simmered inside her, a pang of bitterness tugged at her heart. At the same time, she strained her ears to hear whether Luoluo would ask Ma Tianmeng to be her mother.
Noticing this out of the corner of her eye, Yu Jin’s lips curved into a faint smile.
Luoluo, however, was completely immune to Ma Tianmeng’s gentle coaxing. Clutching the hem of Yu Jin’s pants with one hand, she stretched her other little arm toward Song Yuan.
Song Yuan, the newly minted “mother,” nearly burst into tears on the spot.
You little ungrateful thing, finally remembering who’s been slaving away taking care of you these days, huh?
Yu Jin allowed Luoluo to tug her along by the pant leg, following the child’s lead until they stood before Song Yuan.
Now delighted, Luoluo held Yu Jin’s hand with one of hers and Song Yuan’s with the other. She looked up at Yu Jin and called, “Mommy,” then turned to Song Yuan and said, “Mama.”
Her earnest attempt to treat them both equally was utterly amusing.
Song Yuan gazed at Luoluo’s innocent, beaming face and found she couldn’t stay angry.
Catching the warmth in Song Yuan’s peach-blossom eyes, the chill in Yu Jin’s gaze softened slightly. Seizing the opportunity, she said smoothly, “Then it’s settled.”
Huh?
Everyone around them was still processing what had just happened. Settled? Settled how? Did she mean what they thought she meant?
Two Alphas? Forming a family? Raising a child together?
Song Yuan was also stunned. What did she mean, “settled”?
The next moment, she saw Yu Jin turn to face her, her tone unusually serious. “Song Yuan, are you willing to be Luoluo’s mother?”
Of course, Song Yuan was willing. The words slipped out without a second thought: “Of course, I am!”
But?
Before Song Yuan could voice her confusion, Yu Jin spoke first. “Then our family members are decided.”
Her words struck like a thunderbolt. Wei Yang’s eyes widened in shock.
Jian Xi frowned, glancing at the two remaining Omegas who exchanged bewildered looks.
Backstage, the director nearly leaped out of his seat. Pointing frantically at the editing team, he yelled, “Quick! Cut to commercial! Now!”
As viewers were met with an abrupt commercial break, the live chat went wild.
【YuJinx7: ???? Wait, what did our Yu Jin just say? Form a CP with Song Yuan?!】
【CantoneseFoodie: Ugh, seriously? A commercial right at the climax?】
【@YuanYuanYuanYuan: Song Yuan and Yu Jin? Two Alphas! I’m lowkey excited!!!】
【YuJinFan101: Huh? Is this what I think it is? They usually don’t get along, but now. I kind of want to ship them!】
【JinFromHibiscus: No! Stay away from her! Can that trash Song Yuan just get lost already?!】
【YangYang: Tch. Of course, Song Yuan has no standards, she’ll take anything. I hope Yangyang opens her eyes soon!】
Fans from all sides flooded the chat, instantly pushing the show Practice Mom to the top of the trending charts and it showed no signs of slowing down.
After reviewing the data, the director called Meng YanYan over.
By the time the cameraman led Meng YanYan away, Song Yuan was still in a daze.
She could handle taking care of a child. She could maybe, just barely, tolerate forming a CP with Yu Jin. But forming a CP with Yu Jin and raising a child together? That was a scenario Song Yuan had never even imagined.
Just then, Luoluo dug into her little snack pouch and pulled out a gummy bear, one Song Yuan had bought earlier to cheer her up. She took out two, handing one to Yu Jin first before raising her tiny hand to offer the other to Song Yuan.
Song Yuan accepted the candy, letting out an incredulous, exasperated laugh.
What else could she do? She’d just have to spoil the kid.
GG only had three minutes left. Ma Tianmeng, being a seasoned variety show veteran, noticed the situation changing and said with meaningful emphasis toward Yueyue, “Good Yueyue.”
Just as Yu Jin and Song Yuan, both Alphas, were about to hold hands, Jian Xi had just had a minor conflict with Song Yuan. She definitely didn’t want to form a CP with Jian Xi!
Catching Ma Tianmeng’s hint, Yueyue immediately bounced over cheerfully and said, “Sister Tianmeng, let’s be a team.”
Wei Yang’s gaze was fixed intently on Song Yuan, watching the back of her head, her fists clenched tightly at her sides. Her plan to snatch a CP opportunity seemed to be falling apart.
Each guest had their own thoughts, and just then, Meng Yanyan finally returned, and the cameras were set up properly again.
As Song Yuan had anticipated, the program team soon announced that AO, AA, or OO pairings could be formed freely, respecting the guests’ preferences.
Song Yuan, Yu Jin, and Luoluo naturally became a family of three.
Yueyue and Ma Tianmeng had already discussed it and now sat side by side, holding hands naturally, playing with the little pink-dressed girl next to them.
The little girl, named Bella, had two perky pigtails that bounced adorably as she moved. After Yueyue fed her a few snacks, she happily stuck close to Yueyue and Ma Tianmeng.
Wei Yang quietly walked up behind Song Yuan, cautiously tugged at her sleeve, and asked tentatively, “A Yuan, I’m going to form a CP with Jian Xi.”
Yu Jin noticed Wei Yang’s subtle gesture.
Song Yuan turned around, smiling with curved eyes, “Mm.”
To outsiders, it seemed as though Song Yuan had chosen to build a family with Yu Jin but was still reluctant to let go of Wei Yang.
Her peach-blossom eyes seemed to be luring Wei Yang.
Wei Yang was captivated by Song Yuan’s smile but had no choice but to slink away, take the remaining little girl’s hand, suppress her reluctance, and walk quietly over to Jian Xi to form a CP with her.
The adult world was full of calculations and complexities. The happiest among them was Luoluo, who only knew that today she was with both her mothers, her little head filled with joy.
At that moment, Luoluo held Song Yuan’s hand with her left and Yu Jin’s with her right, swinging both arms happily. Song Yuan, like a doting mother, indulged her antics, while Yu Jin also let Luoluo swing her hand, astonishing the others.
With that, the first episode of the show was almost finished filming.
Once the cameras were off, all the staff breathed a collective sigh of relief.
Including Song Yuan, the entertainment industry worker.
Just as Song Yuan was about to pick up Luoluo and leave, her phone vibrated with a message.
Manager Luo Jie: I had to take the nanny car for an emergency.
Song Yuan broke out in a cold sweat. The location was dozens of kilometers from the city walking was impossible, and calling a taxi wasn’t ideal. All the other artists had already left.
Only Yu Jin’s car remained.
“Mommy!”
Luoluo looked at Song Yuan with wide eyes, twisting her body and pulling toward Yu Jin.
Song Yuan weighed her options, racked her brains, and then stamped her foot.
Forget it.
If Luoluo dared to call Yu Jin “Mommy,” and Yu Jin dared to acknowledge it, then what was wrong with having her drive them home?
Was it too much? Probably not.
And bringing her along wouldn’t be too much either, right?
So, mustering her courage, Song Yuan shamelessly picked up Luoluo, politely knocked on the car window, and flashed her friendliest smile. “Hello, Teacher Yu Jin.”
The car window slowly rolled down, and Yu Jin responded indifferently, “Mm?”
Song Yuan lifted the child slightly and said, “The car was borrowed at the last minute. Could you give your newly recognized daughter a ride home?”
