- You Smell So Good! After Reuniting, My Ex-Boyfriend Forcefully Took Me Back
- Chapter 17 - What Child?
As soon as they arrived home, Xue Yufen grabbed Liang Huaiqiu by the arm and dragged him upstairs.
Closing the door and locking it was all done in one fluid motion.
Liang Huaiqiu sat on the sofa by the window, watching Xue Yufen pace back and forth in front of him, her fists clenched in excitement as she muttered to herself.
“What’s going on?”
Xue Yufen stopped abruptly, turning to look at him with eyes that sparkled.
“Husband!”
The sheer energy in her voice gave Liang Huaiqiu a start. “Yes!?”
“We’re going to have a grandson!”
Now, it was Liang Huaiqiu’s turn to get excited.
“What!?”
“Xiao Yu is pregnant!?”
“Then we need to get them registered and hold the wedding immediately!”
“No, I have to call Old Lin right away!”
“We need to book the wedding venue now!”
“Oh dear, this is so rushed!”
“How could Yanxiu be so careless!”
“Hey, let go of me, I need to find my phone and make the call!”
Xue Yufen hurriedly held him back. “No, wait, don’t get ahead of yourself!”
“How can I not be excited? We’ve been wishing upon every star for this!” Liang Huaiqiu exclaimed.
“We’ve waited all these years, and finally, a grandson! They need to get married, they aren’t getting any younger! He’ll be thirty-five after the New Year!”
Xue Yufen snatched the phone out of Liang Huaiqiu’s hand, looking conflicted.
“Calm down for a second, I haven’t finished speaking!”
Liang Huaiqiu pressed her, “Then say it already!”
Xue Yufen gritted her teeth. “The child… probably isn’t Xiao Yu’s!”
“What?”
Liang Huaiqiu was stunned.
“Not Xiao Yu’s?”
“Mhm!”
Xue Yufen explained, “That child looks to be about four years old. Xiao Yu only met Yanxiu the year before last, so the child can’t be his.”
As they both calmed down, Xue Yufen took out her phone and opened the photo.
Liang Huaiqiu’s excitement spiked once again, even more so than hers had.
It took another half hour before their emotions finally leveled out.
Xue Yufen stared at the photo. “This child looks exactly like Yanxiu did when he was little!”
Liang Huaiqiu found an old photo album, opened it, and found a picture of Liang Yanxiu as a child for comparison.
It wasn’t just a resemblance, they were carbon copies of each other!
Xue Yufen began pacing around the table again in a fit of excitement.
“Oh, my heart can’t take this.”
“That little brat, getting into something this big and keeping it from us!”
“We have to call him!”
Liang Huaiqiu stopped her.
“What’s the use!?”
“He’s been hiding this and keeping his mouth shut for years. If you call him now, he’ll definitely just deny everything.”
Xue Yufen raised her voice. “I have proof!”
“What good is proof!?”
“Even if you put the grandson right in front of him, if that stubborn mule of a son won’t admit it, there’s nothing you can do!”
Xue Yufen calmed down significantly at that.
“True.”
“That little brat.”
“I wonder which poor Omega he messed around with.”
“And he didn’t even take responsibility!”
“How did I raise a son with so little character!?”
The couple spent the rest of the afternoon scolding the son they had been so proud of for years.
The man in question, meanwhile, had absolutely no idea.
After whispering behind closed doors all afternoon, the couple finally couldn’t hold back anymore and called Liang Yanxiu that evening.
Liang Yanxiu had just finished a meeting. Seeing the call from Xue Yufen, he picked up.
“Mom.”
“Yanxiu, tell me, are you hiding something from your father and me?”
Liang Yanxiu thought for a moment. “No. Why do you ask?”
Liang Huaiqiu snatched the phone from Xue Yufen’s hand.
“Yanxiu, tell your father the truth. Do you have a child out there?”
There was a long silence from Liang Yanxiu. He pulled the phone away to double-check the caller ID before replying helplessly, “Dad, what are you talking about? What child?”
