For the One Who Hates Me - Chapter 4
Tasha and the maids rushed out of the room. Karl grabbed Aura’s wrist and strode toward the balcony. Aura was pulled along helplessly.
Bang!
He slammed the glass balcony door shut. Karl pushed Aura all the way to the railing. Her lower back was pressed against the hard, cold rail, just like the reality she was living in.
“…”
“…”
Aura glared at Karl. Karl glared back at Aura. Their breaths mingled in the cold air.
“Let go of that.” Karl gestured with his chin to the spoon she was holding. When Aura didn’t release it, Karl tightened his grip on her wrist. The pressure made her fingers lose their strength.
“Ugh…”
Clang!
The spoon hit the railing and fell off the balcony.
Karl’s voice was a low growl. “A spoon? Were you trying to kill someone with that? No. You can’t, Aura.”
“Let go.”
“Could you really gouge out someone’s eye? A princess like you, who was at the top of the world?”
The top of the world. Aura gave a self-deprecating laugh at his words. “No, Karl. You’re wrong.”
“…”
“I’ve fallen all the way to the bottom.”
“Don’t say that!” Karl roared.
Aura didn’t back down. “Do you still see me as that naive girl who came here to marry? Do you still not see how much I’ve changed and broken?”
“Don’t you dare say you’re broken.”
“…”
“Say it one more time, and I won’t forgive you.”
Aura fell silent. Not because she was afraid of him, but because the way he was getting angry felt different. It was as if…
No. It couldn’t be.
Aura looked up at the sky. Snowflakes were starting to fall. A single flake landed on her forehead. It was cold. Her mind, now clear, told her this could be an opportunity to get revenge on him.
“Karl.” Her tone had softened, making Karl pause. “My back feels like it’s going to break. Help me up.”
Karl frowned, as if asking what she was plotting. But then, he put his hands on her waist and pulled her up.
“Karl.” She decided to ask for certain. “You need ‘True Blood,’ don’t you?”
“I need you.” Karl said it without blinking.
Aura swallowed hard. Just one more time. Let’s test this one more time.
“Karl. The throne isn’t stabilized just by having a royal with ‘True Blood.’ You could find a wife with much better conditions than me. So depose me.”
“I can’t do that.”
“Then divorce me.”
“I can’t do that either.”
“Then kill me.”
“Watch your words.” Karl glared at Aura with the same expression as when he’d said he wouldn’t forgive her.
That reaction again. Aura knew it sounded crazy, but she was willing to cling to the possibility. Maybe… just maybe, Karl…
Aura reached out and grabbed the lapel of his shirt. She pulled him closer, looking straight into his eyes. She was a woman who had been loved more than anyone else in this world. She knew very well what a person’s eyes looked like when they were in love, no matter how much they tried to hide it with anger or a sneer.
“Karl, are you… do you still like me?”
A long white breath escaped his lips. The snowflakes between them were getting thicker. He slowly blinked and opened his mouth.
“What if I do?”
“!”
“What would change?”
Aura’s heart felt like it was plummeting. Even though she had expected this, it felt like she had just heard something that could never be taken back.
Yes. Nothing can be taken back now.
If he liked her, she was going to return that feeling. In her own way, with hatred.
Aura leaned in and kissed Karl. Their cold lips met fiercely. Before either of them could open their mouth, Karl pulled her away.
“You—!”
She paid him no mind and lunged at him again. Karl quickly grabbed her wrists and pushed her against the balcony door. Aura’s back hit the glass.
“Haa…” Aura’s lips were flushed as she exhaled.
Karl’s voice was strained, as if he were holding something back. “What are you doing?”
“You said you like me. I’m giving you a chance, Karl.” She smiled, her lips stretching wide. The stunned look on his face, the way he seemed to be at a loss for words, was beautiful to her.
Aura bit her lip lightly. She could feel it—something irreversible was about to happen if she said this. But Aura didn’t stop.
“You don’t understand what I mean? You’re more naive than you look.”
Her guess was right. Karl’s eyes instantly changed. He grabbed the back of her neck and pulled her in for a kiss.
His lips were hot now. When Aura froze for a moment, he bit her lower lip slightly, and his tongue entered the moment she winced.
“!”
The sensation of his tongue powerfully swirling in her mouth made Aura gasp. His lips sucked, his tongue bit, and his rough movements throughout her mouth turned her mind blank. Feeling his desire so clearly, Aura realized that someone who loves cannot win against someone who hates. If they could, he wouldn’t be this greedy and desperate. He wouldn’t want her so badly when he couldn’t even understand or trust her.
A chance. Aura had said she was giving Karl a chance. But in reality, she was the one who had taken the opportunity. She opened the balcony door, wrapped her arms around his neck, and stepped backward. Karl’s eyes narrowed.
Once they were inside, he pushed her back, deeper and harder. She stumbled back uncontrollably. The moment her calves touched something, Karl, like a beast hunting its prey, pushed her down. The bed rippled like a wave.
“Haa… Haa…”
Aura’s breath came in short gasps. Karl looked down at her, unbuttoning his shirt one by one. His impressive muscles were slowly revealed. The large and small scars covering his body, and even the bandage wrapped around his side.
“You.”
“…Haa…”
“Are you absolutely sure you won’t regret this?”
It was a question that felt like a way out for her. Aura found his relaxed attitude amusing. Especially when his eyes were scanning her, burning with desire.
Aura wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him down fiercely.
“I won’t.” The answer was also a promise to herself. “Karl, are you sure you can stop now?”
Karl smirked. And instead of answering, he buried his face in her neck.
“!”
It felt like electricity was spreading from where his tongue and teeth touched her. Her body trembled with an unavoidable nervousness. Karl wrapped his arms around her shaking shoulders.
“I have no idea what’s going on in your mind…”
“…”
“…But I’ll make sure you don’t regret it, Aura.”
Karl whispered, meeting her gaze. Aura nodded reflexively.
The hand that was stroking her neck went to her back. Tug, tug. The buttons of her dress came undone. The chilling sensation, Karl’s unfamiliar expression filled with desire, and the overwhelming dominance of a man she had never felt before… Before she could even get used to it, her dress was pulled down.
Aura squeezed her eyes shut, overcome by a sense of shame she had never imagined. His hand on her bare chest was so hot it felt like it would burn her. And when his thumb brushed against her nipple…
“Wait…!”
Startled by the foreign sensation, Aura grabbed his hand. Karl kissed her as if to soothe her. Through the hazy pleasure, she heard him whispering, It’s okay. It’s okay.
But contrary to his words, his touch was relentless. Her lower stomach felt ticklish, and she gripped the sheets and twisted her legs. When he parted her legs and settled himself, she had to steel her heart.
He pushed his messed-up hair back and raised his torso. His hand, which had started on her thigh, moved up her calf. And the moment it reached the bandage on her ankle, he frowned.
“Hah… Seriously…”
Karl kissed her bandage.
Aura felt like she couldn’t take it anymore. She pulled her foot from his hand and kicked his shoulder gently.
“…Don’t do anything unnecessary.”
‘I’m not doing this because I want to share something with you.’
A cold smile spread across Karl’s face. He grabbed her knees. A moment later, a foreign pain pierced through Aura’s entire body.
“Ah!” Aura cried out, her voice a mix of pain and a moan.
Karl thrust into her, creating a path for himself. Over and over. Without stopping.
Her moans and gasps were pushed up and escaped her lips uncontrollably. She felt like she had forgotten how to breathe properly.
“It’s okay. Slowly, just breathe.”
He said that, but it didn’t help. Aura just shook her head, enduring it. She wasn’t going to ask him to stop. She was going to see it through.
The sensation below her began to fade. No, it was just overwhelmed by too many sensations at once. As time passed and as he moved inside her, the foreignness became familiar, and the pain turned into pleasure. The moment she felt that pleasure, tears welled up at the corners of her eyes.
“Aura.”
Karl leaned down and kissed her eyelids. Then he kissed her lips again. Their tangled breaths were unbelievably sweet. He wrapped her hands, which were gripping the sheet, around his neck. And he drove into her, harder.
“Ah!”
Aura hugged Karl without realizing it. She didn’t see the smile that crossed his face in that moment. He continued to move, not giving her a chance to let go of him.
“Aah…! Please, ugh!”
She didn’t even know what she was begging for. Part of her wanted it to stop right away, but her instincts were pulling her toward this pleasure.
Aura desperately tried to clear her head. She didn’t want to be drawn in. She didn’t want to enjoy this.
This, she told herself, was just a part of the process of abandoning him.
She dug her nails in, reinforcing her resolve, and raked them as hard as she could down his back.
