- Flash Marriage with a Seductive Beautiful Omega After Being Dumped/Having the Engagement Broken
- Chapter 22 - Of Course Sleep With Me
Bai Youxi had never considered Shen Jiangxu’s previous relationship, nor had she thought about Niannian’s biological mother. She only knew that when they went to the marriage registry, the staff did not inform them that either party had been married before.
She didn’t dare to think too much.
Since it was just a contractual marriage, she only needed to fulfill the agreement where she could see and hear. Without permission, she didn’t need to explore Shen Jiangxu’s past.
However, in the current situation, she suddenly felt like she was superfluous.
And, very agitated.
If they kissed, would Niannian see it?
If they kissed, did she need to look away?
If they kissed, could she…
…stop it?
Something was screaming in her blank mind, trying to take root, sprout, and break through the soil.
But as she took just one step forward, Chu Yucheng had already quickly turned her body, shielding the Niannian in her arms, and huffed out, “I won’t talk about it, I won’t talk about it. You’re so petty. Let me hold her a little longer.”
Shen Jiangxu lowered her arm, and a hint of coldness rose on her gorgeous face. “If you talk nonsense again, don’t come back in the future.”
Bai Youxi paused her steps, suddenly unsure if she should continue walking over.
It turned out she wasn’t asking for a hug and a kiss, but simply asking Chu Yucheng for the Niannian in her arms.
Yet, what an intimate relationship.
Suddenly, Shen Jiangxu’s gaze landed on her, her pine-smoke gray eyes devoid of emotion, as she simply said, “Why are you standing so far away?”
Bai Youxi awkwardly rubbed the back of her head, then smiled and walked over.
Seeing her stop, Shen Jiangxu pointed to Chu Yucheng, who was still stuffing gifts into Niannian, “Chu Yucheng, you might have seen her on TV. Stay away from her.”
Chu Yucheng was originally disdainful and didn’t look like she intended to listen, but when she heard the end, she couldn’t help but speak up, “Hey, what do you mean stay away from me!”
Shen Jiangxu ignored her and then pointed to Bai Youxi, “Bai Youxi, my wife.”
Chu Yucheng, who was about to say something aggressively, suddenly went silent, looking over with an expression of disbelief, scrutinizing Bai Youxi back and forth.
Bai Youxi had thought Shen Jiangxu would vaguely pass off their relationship as she did with Niannian, but she didn’t expect Shen Jiangxu to openly reveal everything to Chu Yucheng.
Amidst the clear shock, a flush of bright red rapidly crept up her ear tips and quickly spread, coloring her entire face.
She didn’t even notice Chu Yucheng’s scrutiny or Niannian’s bewilderment. She just stared wide-eyed at Shen Jiangxu, who showed no change in expression.
The more she did this, the more it aligned with the conjecture in her heart, leaving her utterly confused.
Chu Yucheng immediately put down the Niannian she was reluctant to let go of, reached out and grabbed Shen Jiangxu’s wrist, and walked straight towards the study behind her. “You come with me for a minute.”
Bai Youxi subconsciously wanted to follow, but Chu Yucheng seemed to anticipate it. She turned back and fiercely bared her teeth at her, “Stay away!”
Shen Jiangxu looked indifferent and nodded to her.
The study door was slammed shut by Chu Yucheng. The rush of air brushed past Bai Youxi’s ears, stirring the stray hairs on her forehead.
Bai Youxi blinked, looking at the tightly closed door, feeling as if she were in a dream.
In the dream, Niannian walked up and held her little finger, shaking it. Bai Youxi snapped back to reality and looked down.
She saw Niannian opening her big, purple-grape-like eyes, her gaze pure and confused. “What’s going on with Little Bai and Mommy?”
Faintly, Chu Yucheng’s questioning voice could be heard from inside the door. The content was unclear, but the tone didn’t sound good.
Niannian seemed to hear it too. She glanced towards the door, and her expression changed slightly.
Bai Youxi turned her hand to hold Niannian’s small hand, leading her away from the study area.
She knew Niannian was a smart child and understood simple titles and relationships. So, in fact, Shen Jiangxu had also disclosed their relationship to Niannian.
She carried Niannian to sit on the sofa and crouched down in front of her, gazing into those beautiful big eyes. After a moment of hesitation, she finally spoke, “Niannian, do you want me, Niannian, and Mommy to live together?”
Niannian blinked her eyes and nodded very quickly. “Niannian likes Little Bai, and Mommy also likes Little Bai.”
Bai Youxi unconsciously curved her lips, but the bitterness in her heart twisted and became complicated, not diluted, but seemingly thicker.
In her struggle, she ultimately revealed her lack of confidence to Niannian, “Then, what about Yucheng? What about Yucheng?”
Niannian didn’t understand her gaze but heard the constricted urgency in her tone. She thought carefully and said, “We’ve known each other for a long time, but Mommy never took me to see her. It’s always Yucheng who comes over.”
Niannian took her hand. “She won’t be here all the time.”
Bai Youxi’s heart felt even heavier upon hearing this.
Not long after, just as Bai Youxi had finished re-tying Niannian’s hair, the study door opened.
Chu Yucheng still looked very unhappy, slamming the door open. Her high heels loudly clacked on the floor as she aggressively marched towards Bai Youxi.
Bai Youxi was sitting on the sofa with Niannian in her arms. Startled by Chu Yucheng’s imposing manner, she couldn’t stand up for a moment and thus looked up at Chu Yucheng.
Chu Yucheng’s bright and beautiful face looked utterly dark. She stood in front of Bai Youxi, glared at her, and delivered a mean warning, “Let’s re-introduce ourselves. If you dare to cause trouble, you’re dead.”
Bai Youxi subconsciously swallowed and stiffly nodded. Then she turned to look at Shen Jiangxu behind her.
Shen Jiangxu looked completely calm. She caught Bai Youxi’s gaze, blinked, and said in a light voice, “Ignore her.”
Having known each other for so long, Shen Jiangxu was always able to easily grasp Chu Yucheng’s weak points, effortlessly making Chu Yucheng go from questioning to breaking down, and then grudgingly accepting.
And now, she had made Chu Yucheng break down again.
Chu Yucheng couldn’t figure out why Shen Jiangxu, an Omega with excellent conditions in all aspects, would impulsively flash marry an Alpha whose background was completely unclear.
Shen Jiangxu even said it was because she was good-looking. Was she better looking than her?
Isn’t this just a blatant gigolo!
Bai Youxi turned back and saw Chu Yucheng’s look of grinding teeth, internal turmoil, and intense resentment.
After being helpless against Shen Jiangxu, her sharp gaze shifted to Bai Youxi.
Her conjecture seemed even more credible.
Perhaps, even without a marriage certificate, Chu Yucheng and Shen Jiangxu had a romantic relationship, and even, Niannian might be their child.
Chu Yucheng was a big star, a big star who had been famous for many years.
Such a big star was always busy, and perhaps there were other unspeakable reasons why they didn’t end up together.
But it looked like Chu Yucheng didn’t intend to give up the relationship, which was why she became so furious when Shen Jiangxu said “wife.”
She didn’t know Shen Jiangxu’s purpose for suddenly making it public in front of Chu Yucheng, but she remembered that their marriage agreement required her to play the role of a good wife.
She couldn’t understand their relationship, but right now, she was Shen Jiangxu’s wife.
So, Bai Youxi, who had never dealt with a big star and a romantic rival before, smiled at Chu Yucheng as Shen Jiangxu’s words faded.
“Would you like something to drink?”
Chu Yucheng scowled and didn’t speak, finding Bai Youxi, who could make Niannian sit quietly in her arms, even more of an eyesore.
She unconsciously ground her teeth. “Are you made of catnip or something!”
Why were both of them so clingy? Clinging outside wasn’t enough; she had to bring a marriage certificate home and stick around.
Niannian pouted. “No, not catnip. Little Bai is just Little Bai, a little cat.”
The long-unmentioned nickname suddenly returned. Bai Youxi was stunned for a moment and was about to speak quickly, but Shen Jiangxu, who had already walked closer, interrupted her first.
“If you’re not drinking, then leave.”
Chu Yucheng stiffened her neck and stared at Shen Jiangxu for a while, then lowered her head to glance at Bai Youxi again. “Drink! Bring me something good! You make it for me!”
After saying that, she turned around and plonked down onto the single sofa, patted her lap, and softened her tone, “Niannian, come sit here.”
Niannian looked up at her, a hint of difficulty flashing in her big eyes.
Bai Youxi smiled. “I’ll go make tea for Yucheng.”
Niannian was about to nod when Chu Yucheng suddenly jumped up. “Hey, who told you to call me Yucheng!”
Bai Youxi was startled and quickly apologized, “I’m sorry, Miss Chu.”
Chu Yucheng snorted. Seeing Niannian stop halfway, she reached out and scooped her up onto her lap.
Bai Youxi didn’t linger and went straight to the kitchen.
Shen Jiangxu glanced at Chu Yucheng and said lightly, “So childish.”
Then she turned around and followed Bai Youxi into the kitchen.
Chu Yucheng was attacked again and was so angry that she immediately retaliated, “You’re not childish? Didn’t you step on my foot in there just now?”
Bai Youxi had already entered the kitchen. She knew the location of most things, so finding them was familiar, but she truly had no clue what Chu Yucheng meant by “something good.”
She had just opened the cabinet when Shen Jiangxu walked in from behind her. Amidst Chu Yucheng’s shouting, she looked at Bai Youxi, “Don’t listen to her nonsense.”
Bai Youxi was stunned for a moment, still thinking that Shen Jiangxu stepping on Chu Yucheng’s foot was quite impressive.
After lunch, Shen Jiangxu was about to see the guest off, and only then did Chu Yucheng mention that she had an event in Southern City in a couple of days and had come over today during her time off.
“So, make the bed for me. I’m sleeping here tonight.”
Chu Yucheng spoke with a confident air, regardless of whether she received a response. She grabbed Niannian and ran off to play, specifically forbidding Bai Youxi to come near.
She finally understood that as long as she wasn’t paying attention, Niannian would subconsciously gravitate towards Bai Youxi. She had to keep the distance and guard Niannian closely.
Little Niannian couldn’t break free from the strong Alpha and resigned herself to being held in Chu Yucheng’s arms. Her newly styled hair was messed up again by Chu Yucheng rubbing her cheek against it, looking like she couldn’t bear to let go for a moment.
Shen Jiangxu watched her for a while, then turned to look at Bai Youxi, who was staring blankly at the large and small figures, looking dazed.
With the cold, gray eyes in her peripheral vision, Bai Youxi suddenly snapped back and quickly looked at Shen Jiangxu. “What’s wrong?”
Shen Jiangxu shook her head. “Do you think the big star is a little different from what you imagined?”
Bai Youxi subconsciously wanted to defend the big star, but she still couldn’t connect Chu Yucheng, who was clinging to Niannian and refusing to leave, with the powerful Alpha on the screen.
Perhaps it was true that she hadn’t paid much attention to Chu Yucheng she had only occasionally watched Chu Yucheng’s works and programs and didn’t know what Chu Yucheng was like in less formal settings.
After thinking about it, she still said, “A little, indeed.”
Shen Jiangxu didn’t say much. “You don’t need to care about her. Everyone is just an ordinary person.”
Bai Youxi understood what Shen Jiangxu meant. She nodded, but deep down, she still couldn’t categorize Chu Yucheng as an ordinary person.
At least with Shen Jiangxu around, she couldn’t overlook Chu Yucheng, which didn’t fit her perception of an ordinary person.
A buzzing vibration sound went off. Shen Jiangxu glanced at the phone in her hand, hung up, told Bai Youxi something, stood up, and returned to the study.
Chu Yucheng didn’t even lift her head, playing happily with Niannian.
It didn’t look like the two would gather again. Bai Youxi didn’t need to force herself to join either of them and was free to stay wherever she liked, even going back to her room for a nap.
But deep down, Bai Youxi really cared about Shen Jiangxu, cared about Niannian, and cared about Chu Yucheng, even though none of them cared about her position.
So, after changing her scent blocker patch, she still sat on the sofa and turned on the TV.
She held the remote, pressing the buttons back and forth, unsure of what to watch, flipping through aimlessly.
Hearing the sound, Chu Yucheng suddenly glanced over and said arrogantly, “This one is suitable for you.”
Bai Youxi was stunned and looked closely. It was a movie starring Chu Yucheng.
She hadn’t seen this one and didn’t know why Chu Yucheng said it was suitable, but she still smiled. “Then I’ll watch it.”
The plot of the movie was dramatic, and Bai Youxi had only intended to watch casually but slowly became engrossed.
The backdrop of the story included a storyline about a live-in Alpha with ulterior motives and wild ambitions, trying to take over his wife’s business, and ultimately meeting a terrible end.
The end of this storyline was also the end of the movie. The police officer played by Chu Yucheng closed the file and cursed, “Daydreaming, overestimating yourself.”
When the movie reached this point, Chu Yucheng, who was playing with Niannian on the side, seemed to know the movie’s progress perfectly and recited, without missing a beat, “Daydreaming, overestimating yourself.”
The tone was similar yet completely different.
Bai Youxi turned her head to look and saw Chu Yucheng looking back at her, suddenly curving into a smile that was not like the police officer in the movie, but more like the crazy villain in the film.
Just one smile was enough to send shivers down one’s spine.
