Everyone I Flirted With Says They Won’t Let Me Go (Quick Transmigration) - Chapter 6
It felt like a bucket of cold water had been poured over him. From head to toe, inside and out, chilling him to the bone.
Xia Chengxi swallowed hard, instinctively wanting to flee, but his legs felt as heavy as if they were filled with lead. His hands hung limply at his sides, unconsciously gripping his slightly loose trousers. In a near-whisper, he murmured, “Brother.”
Gu Chengxi snapped back to reality just as the cigarette pinched between his fingers was about to burn his fingertips. He tossed the butt to the ground and crushed it under the gleaming leather of his shoe, grinding it back and forth with a natural, practiced motion. To Xia Chengxi, it felt as though he himself were that cigarette butt—being ground relentlessly into the dust.
There was no anger or accusation in Gu Chengxi’s gaze, only an unexpectedly calm demeanor as he looked at Xia Chengxi. But Xia Chengxi didn’t dare lift his head or meet his eyes, his mind racing with nothing but “What do I do? What do I do? What do I do?”
No words were spoken.
Gu Chengxi reached out and took Xia Chengxi’s sweat-drenched hand, leading him toward a private room on the top floor.
A section of the corridor was lined with soundproof glass, beyond which fragmented lights flickered and the ceaseless flow of traffic buzzed. Xia Chengxi felt dazed, as if Gu Chengxi’s words were mingling with the chaotic honking of cars and drifting into his ears.
“Why did you come here, Xia Xia?”
Xia Chengxi jolted, instinctively trying to pull his hand back and escape, but Gu Chengxi’s grip was too firm. He couldn’t break free.
“I was too bored at home, so I came out to wander around…”
As soon as the words left his mouth, Xia Chengxi wanted to slap himself.
“Did you come to drink or to have fun?”
Xia Chengxi stammered, “D-drink…” Then, abruptly remembering his recent gastroscopy, he quickly corrected himself, “T-to have fun.”
Gu Chengxi let out a soft laugh. Summoning his courage, Xia Chengxi looked up at him and noticed that Gu Chengxi’s smile seemed genuine?
Panic set in.
Xia Chengxi was instantly thrown into disarray.
[Little Green Hat, come out and analyze what my husband is planning to do!]
[Probably thinking about how to kill you. If I were him, I’d kill you too—stepping out on him, breaking your marital vows!]
[…]
What rotten luck to be stuck with such a system!
Xia Chengxi was led by Gu Chengxi into Chu Ran’s private room. The spacious room was filled with people sitting or standing in small groups, their expressions making it clear who were the main guests and who were the “golden” male escorts.
But the moment Gu Chengxi entered, those drinking set down their glasses, those chatting subdued their expressions, those shaking dice stopped to look at Gu Chengxi, and even those fooling around with their companions froze mid-action.
Gu Chengxi pulled Xia Chengxi down to sit in the center of the sofa. Clearly, no one in the room recognized Xia Chengxi, and though their eyes lingered on him, none dared to stare openly.
Even though Xia Chengxi was usually composed, he now felt as if he were sitting on pins and needles. Gu Chengxi held him with one arm while pouring a drink into an empty glass with the other, then placed it in front of Xia Chengxi. “Drink.”
At that single word, all eyes in the room fixed on Xia Chengxi, watching him with the usual anticipation of a spectacle.
Pressing his lips together, Xia Chengxi picked up the glass and downed it in one gulp.
A burning sensation seared his throat all the way to his stomach. He had drunk too quickly, and as he coughed a few times, his heart pounded wildly. A wave of heat surged from his stomach to his head, flushing his face instantly.
As soon as he finished the glass, Gu Chengxi poured him another. Xia Chengxi wasn’t much of a drinker, and now, with his throat stinging from the alcohol, he looked at Gu Chengxi in a fluster of panic.
He couldn’t drink anymore. He knew exactly how he behaved when drunk. One question and he’d spill everything without anyone even pressing him, blabbering until every secret was laid bare.
“Brother, I was wrong. Please don’t make me drink anymore, I’m begging you. My stomach hurts, it really hurts.”
Gu Chengxi’s expression remained unchanged, clearly unmoved.
Xia Chengxi steeled himself and decided to go all the way. He kicked the coffee table, sending the glasses and unfinished alcohol crashing to the floor, splattering liquor everywhere.
“I won’t drink! You know my stomach hurts—why are you forcing me to drink?”
His outburst was utterly unreasonable. Having done wrong himself, he still dared to act so recklessly—truly spoiled by indulgence.
Most of the time, Xia Chengxi was eccentric and ingratiating in front of Gu Chengxi, rarely showing such a violent side. Watching his once submissive lover show no regard for his face, Gu Chengxi still didn’t get angry.
But everyone else in the private room stared at Xia Chengxi as if they’d seen a ghost, swallowing nervously with stiff expressions, as though he had committed some unforgivable offense.
“Don’t like drinking? Fine, then don’t drink.”
Gu Chengxi lazily leaned back and casually pointed at one of the male escorts in the room. “You, go take good care of Young Master Xia.”
Xia Chengxi’s face instantly turned pale.
“What’s wrong? Didn’t you say we were here to have fun? I’m hosting today—enjoy yourself to the fullest.”
The male escort Gu Chengxi pointed at walked over. In this line of work, you couldn’t survive without looks or a good body, but compared to Xia Chengxi, he fell short in both.
No one in the room dared to breathe loudly. The escort was new to the industry and didn’t yet understand boundaries. When Gu Chengxi told him to “take care of” Xia Chengxi, he assumed Xia Chengxi was just like him—someone who didn’t know his place in front of the bosses.
He plopped down beside Gu Chengxi, swaying his slender waist and narrow hips, his gaze seductive and smile cloyingly sweet. Clinging to Gu Chengxi’s arm, he leaned close to his ear and whispered, “Young Master Gu, how about I take care of you instead?”
Xia Chengxi’s expression shifted slightly.
Gu Chengxi raised a hand to stroke the back of the escort’s head. Like Xia Chengxi, he had black hair, just as soft, yet it felt completely different to the touch.
Gu Chengxi looked at Xia Chengxi and said, “Xia Xia, how about this? What do you think?”
Xia Chengxi watched as Gu Chengxi caressed the escort’s head. The escort, carried away by arrogance, pressed closer into Gu Chengxi’s embrace, almost climbing entirely onto him.
He knew Gu Chengxi was doing this on purpose. Making him taste the bitterness of jealousy.
And indeed, he was jealous. A single gesture was enough to ignite his envy.
Xia Chengxi reflected that he wasn’t someone who looked down on others. When he first arrived in this world, he too had been a male escort groveling at others’ feet, no different from the person clinging to Gu Chengxi now—equally repulsive, equally lowly, capable of anything for money. So, who was really any nobler than whom?
Seeing Xia Chengxi standing there trembling, his eyes rimmed red, Gu Chengxi suddenly grabbed the escort’s hair and yanked his head back. The escort looked up, tears welling in his eyes as he whimpered in pain. With a fierce tug and a shove, Gu Chengxi sent him crumpling into a corner of the sofa, not daring to make a sound. Finally, belatedly, the escort understood that this delicate, fierce porcelain doll throwing a tantrum in front of Young Master Gu was nothing like them.
The porcelain doll could throw tantrums and yell in front of Young Master Gu, but Young Master Gu could never allow the porcelain doll to be unhappy in his presence.
Gu Chengxi viciously kicked the coffee table in front of him, producing an extremely grating noise. He scanned the room with a glare and roared, “Get out!”
To everyone in the room, it felt like a pardon from execution!
They all scrambled out the door, closing it behind them.
After venting his fury, Gu Chengxi finally stood before Xia Chengxi, composed and ready. “Speak.”
Xia Chengxi truly had no idea what to say.
Should he say he came here deliberately to stir up trouble with Chu Ran?
Or that he came to tip off Chu Ran?
Either option would mean certain death.
Xia Chengxi took a deep breath, steadying himself. “I did it on purpose. I followed you here deliberately. You keep saying you love me, yet you come to this nightclub to have fun! I’ve known you for so long, but you’ve never introduced me to anyone, never let outsiders know I exist. You just hide me away in the villa for your own pleasure! I’m your plaything, your forbidden fruit—untouchable, unseen. You come back to the villa when you need me and disappear for days when you don’t. What do you take me for? Do you really love me? Do you even know what love is?!”
[Host, such eloquence! You truly have a talent for twisting the truth!]
Xia Chengxi’s palms were drenched in sweat, his chest heaving. Yet, he stubbornly kept his eyes open, refusing to cry. His dark pupils faintly reflected despair.
The ferocity in Gu Chengxi’s eyes faded as he met Xia Chengxi’s gaze, quietly listening to his outburst and roar without a flicker of emotion. Xia Chengxi’s heart trembled with fear.
After a moment, when Xia Chengxi had completely calmed down, Gu Chengxi raised his hand.
Xia Chengxi instinctively shut his eyes, bracing himself. Go ahead, hit me. It’s my fault anyway.
But the slap never came. Instead, Xia Chengxi was abruptly pulled into Gu Chengxi’s embrace. A deep, magnetic voice resonated beside his ear, devoid of its earlier coldness and filled with overwhelming tenderness. “Xia Xia, stop making a scene. Be good.”
Tears instantly streamed down Xia Chengxi’s face.
Damn it!!! Why can’t you just treat me badly? Why can’t you just hit me?!
“I… I’m just scared. I’m so useless. What will I do if you abandon me one day?”
“Belittling yourself is a habit you’ll never break. But remember, I will never abandon you. I love you!”
[Congratulations, Host! Gu Chengxi’s sincerity level has reached 94%, achieving another breakthrough!]
Gu Chengxi patted his back with one hand, soothing him, while his thumb gently traced the nape of Xia Chengxi’s neck. The flawless, pale skin looked utterly enticing. He bit down softly on the back of Xia Chengxi’s neck, nibbling gently. Gu Chengxi knew all his sensitive spots and never missed. Feeling Xia Chengxi tremble, his hand slid downward, reaching for the belt at his waist.
Xia Chengxi was instantly terrified out of his wits.
Here? Now?
How damn desperate are you?!
“No!” Xia Chengxi firmly grabbed Gu Chengxi’s hand, enunciating each word clearly. “I don’t want to! Not here!”
“Plaything? Forbidden fruit? Xia Xia, that was quite the performance and deeply hurtful.”
Xia Chengxi closed his eyes, released his grip, and buried himself in Gu Chengxi’s embrace, not daring to look up. The room’s air conditioning was on, and it felt chilly. Every place Gu Chengxi’s hand brushed over sent shivers down his spine, raising goosebumps.
Unbuckling the belt, pulling down the trousers, yanking off the tie, shedding the jacket, and blindfolding the eyes. The belt snapped against the sofa with a sharp crack. Xia Chengxi jolted in alarm, a cold sweat breaking out. Was he about to be beaten to death?
