Everyone I Flirted With Says They Won’t Let Me Go (Quick Transmigration) - Chapter 14
Xia Chengxi once thought he was about to die. The high fever burned his entire body as if he had fallen into a sea of flames. He wanted to struggle, but his body was too weak to even open his eyes.
He vaguely sensed someone wiping his body to cool him down. Dazed and disoriented, Xia Chengxi found the care incredibly comforting. He turned over, instinctively clinging to the person’s hand, and nestled contentedly against their chest.
Through the fabric of the clothes, he could hear the steady thumping of the person’s heartbeat. His stuffy nose caught a familiar scent, and a faint smile touched his lips as he murmured, “Brother…”
When Xia Chengxi finally awoke from his coma, the aftereffects of his prolonged unconsciousness hit him hard. His body felt weak, his head throbbed with pain, and his eyes wandered dazedly around the room before snapping into focus.
He was in an unfamiliar room. Warm orange lighting, minimalist decor, and simple yet elegant furniture filled the space. The curtains were drawn tightly shut, making it impossible to tell whether it was day or night.
As he propped himself up on his elbows, a clattering sound came from under the blanket. Startled, Xia Chengxi pulled back the covers and gasped.
He was naked. And one end of a delicate, finely crafted chain was locked around his ankle, while the other end was fastened to a small iron ring protruding from the wall.
A sudden shock ran through him. His first thought was that he had been kidnapped!
System: [Host, don’t panic. This is the result of the first target character’s descent into darkness.]
Xia Chengxi: [Darkness? What happened to my brother? Why did he turn dark so suddenly?]
As he spoke, he crawled to the foot of the bed to examine the chain more closely.
It was gold—probably worth a fortune.
System: [Suddenly? Movie Emperor Xia, you really have some nerve. After everything you did for Chu Ran, anyone could see how deeply you cared for him. Did you really expect Gu Chengxi to treat you well? It’s merciful enough that he didn’t beat you to death.]
Xia Chengxi swallowed nervously and gave an awkward smile, choosing not to argue. Instead, he continued fiddling with the chain around his ankle.
[Damn, this chain is really sturdy.]
[If it weren’t sturdy, it wouldn’t be used on you.]
Just as the system finished speaking, the door opened.
Gu Chengxi stood at the doorway, half of his figure shrouded in the darkness of the hallway, the other half bathed in the warm light of the room. His gaze was calm and unwavering as he looked at Xia Chengxi.
The silence was heavy, almost unbearably awkward.
Gurgle— The sound broke the silence but only seemed to make things more awkward.
Summoning his courage, Xia Chengxi met Gu Chengxi’s gaze and said, “Brother, I’m hungry.”
Gu Chengxi closed the door behind him and stepped into the room. The sound of his polished leather shoes tapping against the smooth floor echoed sharply. His imposing presence, absolute authority, and Xia Chengxi’s own guilty conscience made him retreat until his back hit the wall—there was nowhere left to go.
Gu Chengxi pulled up a chair and sat by the bed, watching him with an unhurried demeanor. “Do you have anything to say?”
Hearing that long-missed voice again, Xia Chengxi’s eyes grew hot, and his nose tingled with emotion. Tears welled up in his eyes as he stared straight at Gu Chengxi and said pitifully, “Brother, I’m hungry.”
Gu Chengxi’s expression remained unchanged. “What else?”
“I missed you so much.”
“I want you.”
“I want to be with you forever.”
Their eyes locked. When it came to Gu Chengxi, Xia Chengxi had never held back his true feelings.
Gu Chengxi stood up, took off his coat, and got onto the bed.
Xia Chengxi threw himself forward, wrapping his arms around Gu Chengxi’s neck, and fiercely kissed the man he had longed for over the past few weeks.
A nimble tongue pried open the seam of his lips, entwining with Gu Chengxi’s, tasting, sucking, and lingering in an intimate dance.
Gu Chengxi fiercely kissed him back, nibbling, licking, and biting as if he wanted to devour him whole, tearing him apart bone by bone.
Xia Chengxi was kissed until his face flushed crimson, his lips marked with teeth imprints. Weak and breathless, he slumped against Gu Chengxi’s chest, panting uncontrollably. Seizing the moment, Gu Chengxi pressed him, “Have you done it with him?”
Xia Chengxi shook his head. “No.”
“Xia Xia, do you love me?”
Tears streaming down his face, Xia Chengxi still managed to respond, “Yes, I love you.”
“What about Chu Ran?”
Xia Chengxi cried out, “I don’t love him.”
“Taking you on a helicopter ride?”
“No…”
“Helping him escape?”
“I…”
“Pointing a gun at yourself to threaten me?”
“…”
Xia Chengxi’s cries caught in his throat, his voice breaking into silence. It took him a long moment to find his voice again. “Brother, I was wrong. Forgive me.”
Gu Chengxi held him face to face.
Xia Chengxi’s eyes were dazed, taking a while to refocus.
Gu Chengxi embraced him like a long-lost treasure, gently patting his back, wiping the sweat from his forehead, and kissing his cheeks. With indulgence, he said, “I forgive you. I’ve told you before, no matter what you do, I’ll always forgive you.”
There is just one person whom you willingly spoil and love, no matter what they do, and you are always willing to love them forever.
Gu Chengxi didn’t understand why it had to be Xia Chengxi, but he only wanted to treat him this way.
“Do you really forgive me, brother?”
“I forgive you. I promised you, I forgive you.”
Staring into Gu Chengxi’s eyes, Xia Chengxi spoke word by word, “But I haven’t forgiven you yet!”
Gu Chengxi was taken aback. This little one was getting spoiled.
Amused, he bit Xia Chengxi’s collarbone, making him arch his back and let out a muffled groan.
“How did I make Xia Xia angry?”
“What’s the deal with that Zhao Yi? I heard you’ve been spoiling him.”
Gu Chengxi chuckled. “Is Xia Xia jealous?”
Xia Chengxi gritted his teeth. “Jealous, jealous, I’m just jealous!”
“Alright, alright, jealous.” Gu Chengxi ruffled his hair and explained, “He helped me once, and his mother and my mother are close friends. At most, I treated him like a younger brother. How could I spoil him the way I spoil you? Come to think of it, aside from seeing him at that banquet half a month ago, it’s been over a year since I last saw him.”
“Do you miss him?”
“Missing anyone is nothing compared to missing you. I don’t know who spoiled you into this unruly, entitled personality.”
Xia Chengxi clearly wasn’t done. “Then… what about that Xia Chengyu? Tell me honestly, did you ever mistake him for me? I saw the video of you two together on the street—you looked pretty cozy!”
“Silly, how could I not tell it’s you? That was all an act for Chu Ran, to make him let his guard down.”
“And Xia Chengyu… is he still living in your villa?”
“He’s your younger brother. Don’t you like him?”
Recalling the past, Xia Chengxi’s voice grew somber. “Xia Chengyu has had kidney problems since he was little. The treatment was expensive, and our family was poor. Our parents spent all their savings but still couldn’t manage. When the debt collectors came knocking, they had no choice but to send him to an orphanage.”
“But when he found out our parents were planning to send him to the orphanage, he drugged me with sleeping pills and pretended to be me. You know, we look identical—enough to fool anyone. So our parents ended up sending me to the orphanage instead, taking Xia Chengyu away and leaving me all alone there.”
A seven-year-old child, facing a strange world and unfamiliar people all by himself. The fear in his heart was truly indescribable.
At this point, Xia Chengxi seemed to recall something, his eyes reddening as he choked back a sob. He asked, “Brother, if you had known me when we were kids, would you have stood up for me at school?”
Gu Chengxi didn’t understand this sudden vulnerability, but he held him tighter, his voice slightly hoarse. “Yes.”
“If someone bullied me, would you beat them up for me?”
“Of course. With me here, no one can bully you.”
“Then would you walk home with me after school?”
“Xia Xia…” Gu Chengxi looked at him with a pitying gaze. “I regret not meeting you sooner, not protecting you earlier, letting you suffer all these years for nothing. I came too late, and I owe you an apology. If you’re angry, you can bite me.”
Xia Chengxi bit down on Gu Chengxi’s Adam’s apple—not hard, just gently grazing it with his teeth. Letting go, he said magnanimously, “It’s fine. I forgive you.”
Resting his head against Gu Chengxi’s chest, Xia Chengxi could feel his heartbeat. Suddenly, he wrapped his arms around Gu Chengxi’s neck, lifting his head to look at him from this angle.
“Brother, I’m sorry. I did something wrong. Punish me.”
Gu Chengxi toyed with the golden chain, nibbling on Xia Chengxi’s ear as his warm breath brushed against it. “Then for the next few days, Xia Xia will have to stay locked up here with me and not go out.”
Xia Chengxi’s face flushed with embarrassment, and he nodded without saying a word.
Gu Chengxi stroked his head. “Xia Xia has really become much more obedient.”
Xia Chengxi was momentarily stunned, then gazed intently at Gu Chengxi. “Brother, do you love me?”
Instead of answering directly, Gu Chengxi pinched the tip of his nose. “Why ask such a silly question? Haven’t you known all along?”
“I want to hear you say whether you love me or not.”
“Love can’t be summed up in just a few words. Even if I never say it, I will always love you.”
Xia Chengxi was deeply moved. If it weren’t for the system, his actions would have made him a complete scoundrel.
“Brother, I never want to leave you again. And you have to promise me that no matter what happens in the future, no matter what happens to me, you’ll stay safe and wait for me.”
I will do my best to complete the mission and return here, to be with you forever!
