- Dumped by One, Chased by Another? My Ex's Sister Is a Gal and She's Coming for Me
- Chapter 78 - The Fall of the Affair Father
As my idiot son’s screams echoed through the house, I ignored them and collapsed heavily onto the sofa in my study.
Originally, I had planned for him to inherit Natsuyama Clinic.
But circumstances had changed.
In fact, at this point, even graduating from university seemed unlikely.
No—it had become practically impossible.
Even if he got expelled, I might have been able to buy his way into another university. But once it came out that he’d laid hands on a minor, that option vanished too.
Given that, the only choice left was to cut him off—before his mess dragged me down with him.
“Ungrateful little bastard, this is how he repays me after everything I’ve done for him.”
I raised him with everything I had, protected him, covered for him.
Every time he committed some borderline crime, I was the one who settled things privately. I covered his tracks, kept it out of the public eye.
And this is how he repays me? Committing crimes behind my back and dragging me down with him?
Absolutely unforgivable.
I still have ambitions to fulfill.
My position as director of this hospital is only the first step. I have political aspirations—real ones.
I’ve already begun building connections with influential politicians.
Ironically—or perhaps fortunately—my skills at burying scandals, honed from cleaning up after my son, have proven useful to these politicians. They’ve earned me favors and leverage.
I’ll start with this district.
Eventually, I’ll move onto the national stage.
That’s the ambition that drives me.
“Hello? Yes, speaking.”
“Ah, Chancellor. A pleasure as always.”
The person on the other end of the line was the chancellor of J Medical University.
To be honest, I never liked the man.
Too righteous for his own good.
If only someone else had been chancellor, I could’ve used more… persuasive methods to smooth things over. If that had worked, I might’ve still had a shot at getting my son back on the path to inheriting the clinic.
But I can’t shake the thought—if only he didn’t exist.
And at the same time, my disappointment in my son deepens. He was useless when it really mattered.
“As for my son, we’ve already severed all ties. He’s an adult now—he should be responsible for his own actions.”
“Yes, I thought as much.”
I kept my tone cold and dismissive.
In truth, I had no real intention of disowning him—not at first. But I had no choice. If I didn’t distance myself, I risked earning the wrath of people like him.
In a way, you could say I abandoned my son for the sake of my own ambition—to stay in their good graces.
“The police are likely heading your way as well.”
“Wh-What?”
My throat tightened. Ice ran down my spine.
“P-Please, wait a moment—”
“There’s no waiting. We know you’ve been covering for your son’s crimes. We’ve confirmed multiple instances of blackmail as well.”
“W-Wait, I—”
“Goodbye. I doubt we’ll be speaking again.”
Natsuyama Clinic collapsed just three months later.
