- Dumped by One, Chased by Another? My Ex's Sister Is a Gal and She's Coming for Me
- Chapter 71 - What does she want to do?
“You want to go to the children’s cafeteria?”
“Yeah, if it’s not a bother to you, Kengorou-san.”
“It’s not a bother at all. But why?”
I understood that she looked up to me.
But I still wanted to know—why the children’s cafeteria?
“Ah, of course, I’m not planning to slack off on my exam prep. I’ll balance both, I promise.”
“I’ll support you with your studies too. But you know it’s going to be tough, right?”
“I know. But I just thought it was something really wonderful.”
“I see.”
To me, Haruki’s words didn’t sound like she was just trying to copy me.
“It was really fun. Doing your best for the kids, and seeing how happy it made them. I finally understood what it means to find happiness in helping others. I’m not doing it to imitate you—it’s something I genuinely
like. Something I really want to do.”
“I see.”
If that’s how she truly feels, then there’s only one thing I can say.
“Alright. Then let’s do it together.”
“Yeah!”
I checked my schedule and adjusted it to join her on the next volunteer day at the children’s cafeteria.
“So, Haruki-chan’s officially joining our circle then?”
“Looks like it. Of course, I’ll still be tutoring her properly so she doesn’t overdo it.”
“I see. So, you’re her tutor, her clubmate… and her boyfriend. Sounds like a handful.”
“Oh, shut up.”
At our usual café, Marco, Honoka, and I were lounging around, wasting time as usual with idle chatter.
Naturally, the topic of conversation was Haruki.
Lately, she’s been the subject of at least 80% of our conversations.
It’s getting out of hand.
I need to find a way to fix this balance.
“You two sure love teasing me. What about you guys, huh?”
“Oh-ho, you’re turning the tables now?”
“Well, yeah. I mean, we did just finish the formal family meeting recently.”
“Seriously? That’s impressive.”
They’re practically at the doorstep of marriage now.
Then again, they’ve been dating for four years. It’s only natural that they’ve progressed this far.
Still.
“So, you’ve already met each other’s parents, huh?”
“Why? Something on your mind?”
“I haven’t told my parents about Fuyumi at all.”
“What?”
Marco and Honoka looked at me like I’d just grown a second head.
Well, it’s the truth. Can’t be helped.
There’s not much I can do about it now.
“Yeah, I really need to talk to them soon.”
Thinking about that looming task, I sipped my coffee.
