- Double Mother: The Miracle Woven by Haruka and Mana's Love
- Chapter 21 - Our New Morning
On a spring afternoon with soft sunlight streaming in, lively voices filled the living room. The twin girls born to Haruka—Himari and Mei—and the twin boys born to Mana—Hiroto and Minato. The four babies were each beginning to show their own personalities.
“Ah! Himari-chan, you can’t take your brother’s toy again.”
When Haruka gently chided her, Himari looked up at her mother with a puzzled expression. The gesture was so adorable that Haruka couldn’t help but smile.
“Oh, this girl…”
Mana peeked out from the kitchen and smiled at the scene. Even through her tired expression, deep affection seeped through.
Haruka and Mana sat side by side on the sofa. Soft indirect lighting gently enveloped this special time.
“Himari-chan, Mei-chan, you must be hungry, right?”
Haruka held each of her daughters in her arms and began to breastfeed them gently. Their tiny lips desperately latched onto her nipples, seeking their mother’s warmth. With that sensation, Haruka’s chest filled with an almost painful surge of love.
“Hey, Mana-chan.”
Haruka smiled gently at Mana, who was breastfeeding Hiroto and Minato beside her.
“Are the boys drinking well?”
Mana gazed at her children and nodded with a soft expression. Tears glistened on her long eyelashes.
“Yeah! Minato always tries to drink in a hurry, but Hiroto takes his time at his own pace. They’re so different, but both so cute…”
Mana’s voice trembled slightly. Breastfeeding, especially under the influence of hormones, made her more emotional. Sensing Mana’s delicate heart, Haruka gently leaned her shoulder against hers.
“My girls are the same. Himari is always forceful, while Mei is more reserved. But when I feel this warmth, I truly realize I’ve become a mother.”
In the quiet darkness of the night, only the soft sounds of the babies nursing could be heard. Occasionally, one would make a satisfied sound, while another would fuss for more milk. Every little gesture was so precious that the two women kept exchanging glances and smiling at each other.
“Mana-chan, your profile is so beautiful.”
Haruka murmured suddenly. Mana, while breastfeeding, radiated a divine beauty even more than usual.
“Oh, Haruka-chan…”
Mana replied, her cheeks flushing.
“Haruka-chan, you’re the one who’s most wonderful right now. Becoming a mother has made you even more attractive.”
The air between them grew more intimate. The wonder of life they felt through their children and their deep love for each other made this moment special.
“Mmm…”
Himari let out a small sound.
“Oh, are you full already?”
As Haruka gently patted her child’s back, Mana was similarly tending to Hiroto, who had finished nursing.
“Did he burp?”
“Yeah, he did it well.”
As the night deepened, the two cherished this peaceful time while putting their children to sleep. Even if they had to rub their sleepy eyes, this moment was an irreplaceable happiness.
“Hey.”
Mana spoke softly.
“Our children… they’ll be happy, right?”
“Yeah.”
Haruka answered with conviction.
“Because they’re being raised with so much love. Our love will surely nurture their hearts.”
Even after the four babies had fallen asleep, the two watched over their little sleeping faces for a while. Their expressions were filled with a mother’s pride and deep affection. This was the shape of the happiness they had chosen. Thinking this, Haruka and Mana quietly smiled at each other.

One afternoon.
Haruka gazed at Mana’s profile, captivated by the gentle sway of her long eyelashes. Even amidst the busy days of childcare, Mana’s beauty hadn’t faded in the slightest.
“Huh? Is Mei napping?”
“Yeah, she finally fell asleep but Minato-kun woke up.”
Before Mana could finish speaking, Minato began to cry softly.
“I’ll take care of him.”
As Mana reached to pick him up, Haruka embraced her from behind.
“You can rest a bit. Mana-chan, you’ve been standing all this time.”
At Haruka’s gentle voice, Mana’s cheeks flushed involuntarily.
“But…”
“It’s fine. I’ll do it.”
Haruka gave Mana’s shoulder a soft kiss and picked up Minato.
Hiroto watched their interaction with interest. He was the quietest of the four and always observed his surroundings carefully.
“Oh, Hiroto-kun, you’re awake too?”
When Mana picked up her son, he smiled as if relieved. In his mother’s arms, Hiroto reached out his tiny hands and began playing with Mana’s hair.
“Hey, Mana-chan.”
“What?”
“We’re happy, aren’t we?”
At those words, Mana’s eyes grew moist. Their days were certainly hectic, and they didn’t get enough sleep. But every single moment spent with this family was an irreplaceable treasure.
“Yeah, so happy…”
Just then, Mei woke up and began to cry softly.
“Oh dear, big sister is awake too?”
As Haruka picked up Mei, Himari crawled over as well. With all four babies gathered, the room suddenly became lively.
“Mana-chan, look! They’ve all come together.”
At Haruka’s delighted voice, Mana nodded with a smile. The spring light streaming through the window gently enveloped the new family.
“Hey, Haruka-chan.”
“Yeah?”
“We’ll become good mothers, right?”
“We already are. Just look at everyone’s smiles.”
The four babies expressed their happiness in their own ways: Himari’s bright smile, Mei’s gentle eyes, Hiroto’s quiet demeanor, and Minato’s curious expression. Each was different, yet each was a definite form of love present there.
Mana and Haruka looked at each other and nodded slightly. Even if every day was as busy as a battle, as long as they supported each other, they could overcome any difficulty. That had been an unchanging truth since the moment they gave birth.
Outside the window, cherry blossoms danced, heralding the start of a new season. This family’s story had only just begun. But it was becoming a precious story filled with certain love.
◆
Past 11 p.m., the four babies had finally settled down to sleep. Only the soft indirect lighting illuminated the living room, and a calm atmosphere flowed. Haruka sank deeply into the sofa and let out a big sigh.
“They finally fell asleep…”
Mana finished the last of the cleaning in the kitchen and sat gently beside Haruka. Amid their busy childcare days, it had been a long time since they had time to spend alone together.
“Haruka-chan, you did great today.”
When Mana smiled gently at her, Haruka found herself captivated by that expression. Mana’s profile, illuminated by the soft light, was as beautiful as a painting.
“Mana-chan, you too… you worked hard today as well.”
In a natural flow, Haruka ran her fingers through Mana’s long hair. The sensation of the glossy black hair slipping through her fingers brought forth nostalgia and affection.
“Mmm…”
Mana closed her eyes slightly at Haruka’s gentle gesture. Even though she should be tired, she couldn’t help but find Haruka’s presence comforting.
“Hey, Mana-chan.”
“What?”
“We haven’t had much time to talk lately, have we?”
As she said this, Haruka rested her head on Mana’s shoulder. The warmth of Mana’s soft body and her familiar scent soothed her heart.
“Yeah! But just being like this makes me happy.”
Mana took Haruka’s hand and gently intertwined their fingers. Their slender, supple fingers entwined as if seeking each other.
“Mana-chan, your hands are still so beautiful.”
Haruka murmured this and lightly kissed Mana’s fingertips. At the gesture, Mana blushed.
“Oh… Haruka-chan.”
Though she said it as if to hide her embarrassment, Mana smiled happily. That expression was so adorable that Haruka couldn’t help but touch Mana’s cheek.
“Mana-chan, you’re cute!”
As Haruka’s fingers traced Mana’s cheek, Mana naturally leaned her face into the hand. Their breaths quietly overlapped.
“Haruka-chan, you’re beautiful too… becoming a mother has made you even more attractive.”
At Mana’s honest words, it was Haruka’s turn to blush. For Haruka, who had been a little concerned about her post-birth body changes, those words were the greatest encouragement.
“Thank you!”
When Haruka whispered this, Mana gently stroked her long hair. The touch felt so pleasant that Haruka naturally closed her eyes.
“Haruka-chan, your hair is so soft…”
Every time Mana’s fingers combed through Haruka’s hair, a pleasant shiver ran through her body. A deep bond, impossible to express in words, flowed between them.
“Hey, Mana-chan.”
“Yeah?”
“We’re really happy, aren’t we?”
At Haruka’s words, Mana nodded deeply. Blessed with four children and a relationship where they could love each other deeply. It was the very happiness they had dreamed of for years.
Mana placed a finger under Haruka’s chin and gently lifted her face. Gazing at her own reflection in Haruka’s eyes, she slowly brought her face closer.
“I love you, Haruka-chan.”
Their lips met gently. It was both a confirmation of deep love and an eternal vow. After the kiss, they pressed their foreheads together and quietly closed their eyes.
Outside the window, the night breeze gently rustled the trees. The sound of the babies’ breathing in the next room and the quiet space just for the two of them—all of it blended together to create this happy time in their home.
“Shall we rest a bit?”
When Mana said this, Haruka nodded silently. Still leaning against each other, they began to doze off on the sofa. Another hectic day would begin tomorrow. But being able to spend time alone together like this occasionally was their greatest happiness.
Eventually, Haruka and Mana fell into a quiet sleep, wrapped in each other’s warmth. Their sleeping faces were peaceful and filled with deep love. And so, the new family’s story continued to move forward, step by steady step.
