- Double Mother: The Miracle Woven by Haruka and Mana's Love
- Chapter 2 - The Shape of Love
Haruka was gripping Mana’s hand tightly. Her parents standing before them refused to soften their stern expressions. A chilled air drifted throughout the room.
“Why are you so against this?” Haruka asked in a trembling voice. “I love Mana. Are you saying that’s wrong?”
Her father let out a deep sigh and averted his gaze as if troubled. Her mother merely shook her head slightly without speaking. Their home, usually so warm, felt heavy and cold today.
“Marriage is normally between a man and a woman. We’re worried about… well, how society will see you. It’s for your own good.”
Her father’s words left a deep wound in Haruka’s heart. How cruel those words “for your own good” sounded. Mana remained silent beside her, but gently stroked Haruka’s hand while smiling as if to encourage her.
“I will protect Haruka. We want to be happy together. Please try to understand.”
Mana’s quiet, gentle voice softened the room’s atmosphere just a little. But her parents’ reaction remained unchanged. They stayed silent, seemingly bewildered by the couple’s determination.
Haruka squeezed Mana’s hand firmly once more. The warmth of her hand gave Haruka courage.
“That’s enough… I understand. I believe someday you’ll come to understand too. But right now, I want to be with Mana. No matter what anyone says, these feelings won’t change.”
Haruka’s words were filled with determination and resolve. She looked at Mana and smiled gently. Mana responded by softly touching Haruka’s cheek. The quiet love flowing between them was more powerful than any words.
That night, the two sat on a park bench. In the cold autumn wind, Mana draped her coat over Haruka’s shoulders and leaned close.
“It’s okay, Haruka-chan. We’ll get through this properly.”
Mana’s voice resonated deeply in Haruka’s heart. Just being beside her made Haruka feel like they could overcome any difficulty. Through the feel of Mana’s hand and her kindness, Haruka became certain once more – their love was real and couldn’t be broken by anyone.
“Yeah… As long as I have Mana-chan, I’ll be okay. Thank you.”
Haruka leaned against Mana and gently rested her head on her shoulder. In that moment, Mana softly stroked Haruka’s hair. The gentle movement of her hand was like soothing a baby, making Haruka’s heart feel warm and light.
“Mana-chan, you’re always supporting me like this. Really, thank you.”
“Just having Haruka by my side makes me stronger.”
Without words, the two simply sat quietly together. The stars shining in the night sky sparkled as if blessing their future.
As time passed, their relationship gradually began to gain acceptance from those around them. The relationship with her parents also slowly softened. But most importantly, they had always believed in and supported each other through everything.
“Hey, Mana-chan… Let’s get married.”
One day, when Haruka suddenly murmured those words, Mana looked surprised but smiled.
“Yeah… Let’s be together forever.”
In that moment, both became certain that their bond would continue unchanged from now on. Even with society’s gaze and opposition, their love would only deepen. Dreaming of the day when they would welcome children as a family, they held hands and took a new step forward together.
