- Double Mother: The Miracle Woven by Haruka and Mana's Love
- Chapter 12 - A Gift for the Baby
Haruka and Mana sat side by side in the living room. Before them lay a brightly colored picture book, and the room, bathed in soft light, was wrapped in a gentle stillness. Haruka stroked her belly as she read a passage from the picture book in a tender voice.
“‘Little Mouse Chuu waits for his friends under the big tree’… Hey, Mana-chan, isn’t this picture book adorable?”
When Haruka turned to look, Mana, sitting beside her, was smiling. She too had placed a hand on her belly, stroking it gently.
“Yeah, it’s adorable. Do you think the baby is enjoying it too?”
“I’m sure. They must be listening from inside.”
Haruka gently closed the picture book and leaned closer to Mana. In that fleeting moment, seeing Mana’s face softly brimming with kindness, Haruka felt her heart grow warmly tender at her deep affection. The way Mana gently stroked her belly was overflowing with a maternal quality, and Haruka always found solace in that sight.
Haruka rested her head lightly on Mana’s shoulder. Then, she said:
“Hey, I’d like to let the baby listen to some music too.”
“Yeah, violin and piano might be just right. Let’s play for them.”
The two stood up. Mana sat at the piano placed in the corner of the living room, while Haruka quietly retrieved the violin from the closet. In the quiet night air, the sound of the violin began to resonate softly. Haruka’s fingers traced the strings, releasing a gentle, profound melody. The sound was as graceful as if speaking to the baby in their womb.
Mana followed, beginning to play the piano. Her fingers glided smoothly across the keys, harmonizing with the violin’s tones. Their music melted into one, filling the entire room.
“It’s beautiful! Mana-chan, you’re so good at the piano.”
While playing the violin, Haruka listened intently to Mana’s performance. The sounds produced by Mana’s fingertips held a delicate strength that resonated deeply within Haruka’s heart.
“Thank you, but your violin playing is wonderful too. Being able to play together like this feels like a dream.”
Mana looked up, smiling as she gazed at Haruka. Her eyes held a clear, profound love, and Haruka felt her heart race. The music they created together, gentle and warm, seemed to reflect their very selves.
As the performance ended and stillness enveloped the room once more, Haruka gently set down her violin and walked over to Mana.
“Do you think the baby enjoyed it?”
Haruka stood before Mana and placed a hand on her belly. Feeling each other’s rounded bellies, they softly stroked them.
“Yeah, I’m sure they did! It feels like our music reached the baby.”
Mana placed her hand over Haruka’s, and for a while, they stood like that. The tangible reality of the small lives growing inside them bound their hearts even closer together.
“Hey, Mana-chan… When the baby is born, let’s let them listen to even more music.”
“Yeah, let’s raise them together with music, picture books, and lots of love.”
They gazed at each other and exchanged smiles. In that moment, it felt as if their bond had deepened even further. Their love was surely being passed on to the baby who would soon be born.
