Does the Alpha Have to Be a Succubus too? - Chapter 11
Before leaving Wyatt, Lu Heguang hadn’t seen Salorian leave the dormitory. However, over the past two days, Salorian had mentioned several times that an Omega seemed quite interested in him, and he couldn’t hide the anticipation in his eyes when talking about the date.
Although Lu Heguang felt a bit downhearted, he knew Salorian was likely to fail again, so he didn’t dwell on it. Instead, he planned to prepare some gifts during the two-day holiday to comfort him.
When Lu Heguang brought Mitchell to the dormitory, only a few students remained. After all, following the holiday, not only would the freshman elimination survival battle take place, but senior students would also face their semester exams. Even those who stayed at the academy had already headed to the training grounds.
Everything in the dorm room was neatly arranged. It seemed Salorian had been out for a while, as even the warm water on the table had turned cold.
“Did he tell you where he was going for the date?” Mitchell didn’t appear too flustered. After circling the dorm room twice, he led Lu Heguang outside. Hearing the question, Lu Heguang shook his head and added, “The person he’s meeting is from the Mechanical Engineering Department, a freshman like me.”
The measuring tape Salorian had brought back for Lu Heguang to measure his height had been borrowed from that person.
“Mechanical Engineering Department? I know the way.” Mitchell turned and headed downstairs, with Lu Heguang following closely behind. “I graduated from Wyatt too. The Mechanical Engineering classrooms aren’t easy to find. Just follow me.”
The two jogged toward the Mechanical Engineering Department, unaware that on the other side, Lu Ze lowered his hand, which had been shielding his eyes from the sun, and asked Feiluo’er beside him, “Shouldn’t we intervene?”
“Trust me, they can handle this.” Feiluo’er wrapped an arm around Lu Ze’s shoulder, unfazed even when Lu Ze slapped it away twice. “Old Weil has been giving me trouble lately, so now I finally have leverage against him.”
“I thought you were invincible.”
“It’s nice that you think so, but I’m just an ordinary person.” Feiluo’er chuckled. “When I grow old, someone else will take my place. Until that day comes, I’ll work hard for you and Xiao Guang.”
Eliminating rivals was, of course, part of the job.
“Xiao Guang is a good kid. He’ll resolve this properly. We have something else to attend to.” Feiluo’er glanced back toward the academy gate, where the Weil family’s butler, also waiting for his young master, hurried toward them with a look of anxiety. When he reached them, he bowed his head and said, “Marshal, my master is on his way and will be here shortly. Please wait a moment.”
“No problem.” Feiluo’er took Lu Ze’s hand and played with his fingers. The butler swallowed nervously and asked cautiously, “Marshal, may I ask why you suddenly wish to see my master?”
“It’s nothing serious.” Feiluo’er turned Lu Ze’s palm over and intertwined their fingers, causing Lu Ze’s brow to twitch uncontrollably. Still, for the sake of saving face, he didn’t refuse and let Feiluo’er fiddle with his hand. “It seems your young master and my son’s guide have some conflict.”
The butler’s eyes widened in shock. Realizing his reaction might be disrespectful, he quickly lowered his head again, his mind racing with the question: When did Feiluo’er have a son?!
Meanwhile.
“This is the senior’s smart device.”
Lu Heguang and Mitchell emerged from the mechanical engineering classroom. They hadn’t found Salorian there, but they did locate the person he was supposed to meet. According to him, Salorian had stood him up, and he had no idea where Salorian had gone.
But just two steps outside, a glint in the grass caught Lu Heguang’s attention. He parted the grass and picked up a shattered fragment of a smart device, which looked as if it had been violently smashed to pieces.
The two of them looked up at the building simultaneously and, without a word, turned and ran toward the upper floors of the mechanical engineering building. “Two staircases up, and we can connect to the combat department’s rest area.”
However, before they could find Parker, they ran into Salorian halfway, who was walking back while covering his face. Salorian froze at the sight of the two of them together. “Bro, why are you with him”
Before Mitchell could speak, Lu Heguang had already rushed forward, circling Salorian twice. “Senior, are you okay? Besides your face, are you hurt anywhere else?”
“I’m not hurt.” Before Salorian could finish, Mitchell grabbed his hand and pulled it away, revealing a bruised and swollen area on his face. Mitchell then lifted the hem of Salorian’s shirt. Salorian flinched. “Mitchell, let go! What are you doing in public?”
“Still saying you’re not hurt?” Mitchell frowned, examining the marks on Salorian’s waist. “I raised you do you think I don’t know you? In the past, when you hid things from me, I pretended not to see. But now it’s different. Where are they?”
Lu Heguang straightened Salorian’s clothes for him. If Salorian hadn’t impatiently pushed him away, Lu Heguang would have even tried to fix his hair. “Senior, your hair is a mess. Next time, remember not to lie with your eyes wide open.”
Salorian: “…”
Under Mitchell’s relentless questioning, Salorian reluctantly pointed in a direction. “There were quite a few of them, but only Parker actually laid hands on me.”
“Because of me?” Lu Heguang’s heart sank. He had been at odds with Parker the most recently, and he didn’t need to guess to know that Salorian would deny it to spare his feelings. Without waiting for Salorian’s response, he strode off in the direction Salorian had pointed, beating Mitchell to it.
Salorian was taken aback. “Are you going to get beaten up?”
“They can’t beat me.” Lu Heguang even rolled up his sleeves, turning back with a smile. “Don’t worry, Senior.”
As soon as he rounded the corner, his expression darkened. A whistle caught his attention. In a spot where Salorian and Mitchell couldn’t see him, a young Alpha leaned against the railing and looked down. Sure enough, he saw a man with honey-colored skin waving at him from below. “Need help, son?”
“Yes, yes, I do.” Lu Heguang grinned. Lu Ze wasn’t accompanied by Fei Luo’er, and he had no idea where Fei Luo’er had gone. But judging by Lu Ze’s relaxed demeanor, Fei Luo’er was probably busy with something else.
Lu Ze glanced around, and seeing no one nearby, released his tail a slender, black appendage with a hook at the tip. With a few deft movements, he scaled the building and landed steadily beside Lu Heguang, the slightly darker-skinned Omega. “Let’s go, let’s go. Time for a fight. Perfect chance to teach you how to solve problems the succubus way.”
Lu Heguang’s eyes lit up, his intense curiosity masking a simmering anger over Salorian being bullied.
Half an hour later, Old Vail frowned at his own disappointing son, Parker, who was wailing incessantly despite having not a single scratch on him. He snapped irritably at the butler beside him, “Hurry up and take the young master back!”
“Yes, yes.”
When Lu Heguang returned to Fiorel’s side with Lu Ze, he didn’t see Salorian. However, it was reassuring that Mitchell was also absent this meant the two brothers were together. Good, good.
Watching Fiorel’s half-smile directed at Parker’s father, the old earl whom Wen Zhao had described as “not up to par,” Lu Heguang very politely greeted him. The old earl’s expression immediately turned even more sour.
If Lu Heguang had been a ruffian, the earl would have had a legitimate reason to demand some compensation from Fiorel. But faced with such a well-mannered child, one who couldn’t be faulted in the slightest, he couldn’t help but feel a pang of sorrow from the depths of his heart: “Why can’t my son be like this?”
“I understand everything the Marshal has said. I will take this matter seriously,” the old earl replied, nodding at Lu Heguang as a return courtesy. Lu Heguang, unaware that his status didn’t require him to greet the old earl, obediently stood beside Lu Ze, waiting to go home and check on Salorian.
He was certain Mitchell must have taken Salorian back to the Marshal’s residence.
“And what is the old earl’s solution?” Fiorel asked with a thin, insincere smile. “I’m quite curious. After all, this matter involves my son. Their conflict led to someone else getting hurt. Are you sure my intervention isn’t needed?”
“No, no, it’s not necessary,” the old earl quickly waved his hands. If Fiorel were to handle this personally, his title of earl would likely be stripped and trampled underfoot like a rag. “I assure you I will handle it properly, Marshal. You have my word.”
“I do not wish to hear of such incidents happening again at Wyatt, the institution that cultivates talent and warriors for the Imperial Star,” Fiorel suddenly shifted his expression, speaking sternly. “If it happens once more, or if I hear even a whisper of rumor about it, I will ensure the surname Vail disappears from the Imperial Star.”
Despite the summer heat, cold sweat beaded on the old earl’s wrinkled forehead. After repeatedly assuring Fiorel, he hurriedly left only upon the Marshal’s permission.
“How did it go?” Fiorel relaxed and looked at the father and son. “Didn’t hurt your hand, did you?”
“Just an appetizer, really. A bunch of kids,” Lu Ze rotated his wrist and scoffed. “More importantly, have that, what’s his name.”
“Dad, the senior’s name is Salorian,” Lu Heguang reminded him.
Lu Ze nodded. “Right. Have Salorian come see me later. Such a good kid, why doesn’t he know to seek help from adults when something happens?”
“Not everyone knows how to raise children like you do, and not every family is trustworthy,” Fiorel said softly.
Lu Ze sighed and pulled Lu Heguang, who was about to go find Salorian as soon as they returned, over to ruffle his hair vigorously.
Lu Heguang’s speech became muffled from the tousling. “Father, remember to make them compensate Senior with a new neural interface…”
Fiorel silently raised his hand to join Lu Ze, thinking to himself that it was indeed quite soft it would be even better if it weren’t dyed blue.
The family of three sat in the car on their way back. Suddenly, Fellor, sitting in the front passenger seat, turned around and said, “By the way, after you return from the survival battle, it should be just in time for your birthday, right?”
Lu Heguang nodded. Fellor smiled and said, “Then let’s celebrate together. At your birthday banquet, I will announce your identity. I originally thought of letting you get used to it a bit more, but I suddenly remembered a saying sometimes, identity happens to be the strongest shield.”
