Distance Formula - Chapter 21
Chapter 21
Bai Biqing woke up very early. She looked at the time and decided not to wake Su Yanshi; the Alpha was too tired and needed rest. She tied her hair into a small bun, splashed cold water on her face, and slapped her cheeks hard, trying to look less pale.
She knew Su Yanshi needed to control her weight, so she planned to make breakfast herself, feeling it would be safer.
“Hello, is the hotel kitchen available for use?”
“What would you like to make? We can assist you with that.”
Bai Biqing smiled faintly and shook her head. “ I’ll do it myself. I’m afraid she’s not used to what others make.”
In fact, they hadn’t eaten together many times, let alone her cooking for her personally.
Some words she spoke, she didn’t even believe herself. Even if she bought something random, plated it precisely, and told Su Yanshi, “I made this, try it.”
The other party would probably happily reply, “It’s delicious.”
The manager stopped refusing and pointed in one direction. “The right side inside. Please be careful with the knives. Have a pleasant day.”
“Thank you.”
Bai Biqing quickly found the kitchen, explained her purpose, and paid extra since she hadn’t brought any food. The food she made wasn’t complicated, just a few simple items. She rolled a sandwich and added a cup of milk, packing them in a specialized container.
She hadn’t eaten herself. The side effects of the medication were strong. Her intermittent use of the medicine over the years had exacerbated the problem, and she had felt significantly heavy-headed since waking up. Bai Biqing only wondered if it would affect her work; she had caused work delays before due to her own issues.
At seven in the morning, Bai Biqing knocked on Su Yanshi’s door, but to her surprise, the Alpha was already awake.
“Yanshi, you’re up so early? Have you eaten breakfast?”
Su Yanshi wiped her hands with a tissue. She had just ordered room service. “Yes, I have. Have you eaten? You look very pale.”
The Alpha looked at her with concern.
Bai Biqing looked steadily at her, then smiled reassuringly. “I’m fine, don’t worry. I just made you a breakfast, but I didn’t expect you to have eaten already.”
Su Yanshi was startled. Her expression gradually became serious, panic surfacing in her eyes, as if she was anxious to explain but couldn’t find the words. Bai Biqing watched her struggle silently, feeling quite pleased.
She always spoke her mind, wanting Su Yanshi to know that Bai Biqing was being kind to her. There was no need to hold back. She told her openly, “Look, this is my heart.”
“Teacher Bai,” Su Yanshi called weakly, then seriously pulled her inside and forcefully pressed her to sit on the sofa.
“What’s wrong?” Bai Biqing cooperated with her movements, looking up at her.
Su Yanshi didn’t speak. She looked down at her for a moment, then leaned over, took the container from Bai Biqing’s hand, and quickly stuffed the half-eaten shaomai (steamed dumplings) she had been eating into her mouth.
She mumbled, “I only ate one, and I shouldn’t eat too much anyway. Teacher Bai, can you eat this? I’ll eat the one you made.”
Bai Biqing hissed softly. Before she could reply, Su Yanshi had already started to move, deftly opening the container and eating large bites.
The Beta watched her obviously hurried eating speed, finally bursting into laughter. She rested her chin in her hand, watching her. “Silly girl, eat slower. What if you choke? Don’t worry, you’ll have this every day during the filming period.”
Su Yanshi thought it tasted good. She only nodded, and after she calmed down a bit, she said, “You made it, so I can’t waste it. And it’s delicious!”
She chuckled, sitting on the floor like a large dog, her hands resting on the table. She said, “We have a badminton scene today, so you need to eat well.”
