Su Shang was sprawled on the sofa, scrolling through Weibo, and clicked her tongue twice. She watched Bai Biqing, who had just showered and was drying her hair, and showed her the phone screen. “Look at you two after one outing. As expected of the popular female Alpha, she dominated several trending topics in a row.”

Bai Biqing took the phone and tapped into the trending topics. The posts originated from a Weibo update Su Yanshi had made an hour earlier. The text was short: “New journey.”

The accompanying picture was… the moon reflected in that sea.

She let out a soft gasp, a smile forming on her face. She tossed the phone back. “Get lost, it’s one o’clock. I can’t stay up much longer.”

She turned and found her pill organizer on the table, poured a few pills into her mouth, drank some water, and swallowed them.

Su Shang narrowed her eyes, watching her with a gossipy look. “How is it? How is it? Did you two make any progress?”

Bai Biqing gave her a faint look. “What progress? Emotionally?”

“…Su Shang, she got a little closer to me.”

The Beta turned away, her expression solemn. “This is the last time I will answer your question.”

Su Shang wasn’t intimidated. She was still smiling broadly, but her eyes held a knowing look. She sat up from the sofa. “Got it.”

“Okay, I’m leaving. Get up a little earlier tomorrow morning. We haven’t explored Shenhai City properly yet. I already have a travel plan ready. We should be able to have a good long time exploring.” Su Shang got up, then hummed, giving Bai Biqing a suggestive wink. “Aha, you’ll be accompanying her until filming wraps up, anyway, right?”

Bai Biqing let out a soft laugh. “That’s not certain. I’m a fickle person—”

Su Shang patted her shoulder, leaned into her ear, and sighed. “You’ve been through such hard times, does this little bit matter? Good luck, my dear.”

Bai Biqing tilted her head. “Good night.”

Su Shang closed the door. Bai Biqing’s smile gradually faded. They had returned very late, almost eleven o’clock. Su Yanshi had an early shoot and needed to sleep. They talked a lot. The Beta realized that the Alpha was truly obedient, never changing the subject herself, as if afraid of upsetting her or trying to please her.

In fact, thinking about it carefully, there was no reason for her to try to please her. Ultimately, it came down to Su Yanshi maintaining a sense of propriety with her. But as Su Yanshi had said, yesterday was indeed very happy.

Su Yanshi went to film. Bai Biqing was not in the same industry. She shouldn’t visit the set too often. While they could claim to be friends, the interview was about to air, and fueling gossip would not be good.

Bai Biqing went out with Su Shang to sightsee. They took their time at each attraction, sometimes spending one or two days on a route that others would finish in a few hours. Whenever they did this, the Beta would take a few photos for Su Yanshi, along with pictures of the delicious food they ate.

Su Yanshi: It’s only been three days. I might have to control it like this for the entire duration of the drama.

Three days.

Except for meeting briefly at the hotel in the evening, they seemed to communicate entirely through their phones. It wasn’t that they couldn’t talk, but meeting face-to-face was better.

Bai Biqing thought for a moment and typed: How about I pack you a portion and take it over? Just one extra meal?

No, thanks. One leads to two.

Bai Biqing felt Su Yanshi’s struggle even through the screen. “She’s quite stubborn.”

Su Shang, who was focused on eating, looked up in confusion. “What’s wrong?”

“Nothing. Keep eating.”

Su Yanshi was still texting: The interview airs tomorrow. Teacher Bai, just re-share it then. Brother Nan told me the hype won’t be too intense, just building up a little buzz. You don’t need to worry.

Who’s worried?

She took a bite of food, thinking that perhaps she should still go visit the set.
