Desire to Lure [Esports] - Chapter 3
Chapter 3
Yu Wenzhi had returned to the dorm to take a shower. As the water pattered in the bathroom, the little bit of sleepiness Sheng Xu originally possessed vanished completely.
This was the downside of living together—no personal privacy. When one person showered, the other couldn’t even use the bathroom.
Actually, he owned a vacant apartment in S City, but he couldn’t stay there for the time being. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have to deal with someone else’s showering affecting his sleep.
Suddenly, there was a slight click of the door handle.
The moment the bathroom door was pushed open, Sheng Xu squeezed his eyes shut with lightning speed.
Yu Wenzhi let out a soft breath, seemingly stifled by the steam inside for too long.
Hearing Yu Wenzhi make a sound, Sheng Xu instinctively squinted his eyes to steal a glance.
By the light filtering through the window, he could see that Yu Wenzhi’s upper body was completely bare. His abdomen was flat with well-proportioned lines, and an annoying bath towel was wrapped snugly around his waist. His right arm, which held a phone, happened to perfectly shield the protrusions on his chest.
However, as he fumbled with the phone, his arm swayed slightly, moving up and down.
F*ck.
Why the hell is he not wearing clothes after a shower?
Sheng Xu involuntarily gripped his bedsheets tight.
Yu Wenzhi was checking the news. Xu Rui had reminded him that the LCK Spring Split champion had been decided. It was Team QZ, Choi Kyung-sung’s team.
Yu Wenzhi instinctively tapped on the trending searches and found that QZ was indeed trending.
“Congrats QZ, congrats Choi Kyung-sung! Our “Twin Stars” must meet at the top.”
“Wuwuwu Captain Choi, do you know Captain Yu won the championship too?”
“Choi Kyung-sung is 25 and hasn’t declined at all, truly incredible. If he had stayed with Tea Team, they might have two or three World Championships by now.”
“If they were both in Tea Team, who would be the captain? Captain Yu wouldn’t be content staying under someone else forever.”
“I can only say you don’t understand. The bond between the Twin Stars is beyond your imagination. Choi Kyung-sung was a mentor to Captain Yu, and Captain Yu isn’t someone who fights for fame or profit.”
“The light boat has passed ten thousand mountains; old Tea fans should look forward. I heard Tea Team signed Sheng Xu.”
“Ha, that Explosive Pack? Can Captain Yu handle him…”
Yu Wenzhi scrolled through the comments section with a calm expression when he suddenly sensed an unignorable gaze.
His finger paused. He lifted his head; his damp hair clung to his nape, and small droplets of water slid down the line of his spine.
He caught Sheng Xu hurriedly closing his eyes, faking sleep.
Seeing this, Yu Wenzhi suppressed a smile. He put down his phone and strode toward Sheng Xu.
In truth, he had been so focused on the news that he had actually forgotten Sheng Xu was in the room, which was why he had come out wearing only a towel.
But it didn’t matter. Though they weren’t close, they were both men.
Yu Wenzhi reached the bedside. Far from being awkward, he studied Sheng Xu’s “sleeping” face and couldn’t help but tease playfully: “Relax your muscles. Don’t let your eyelids twitch. You’re allowed to breathe.”
Hearing this, Sheng Xu was so mortified that his knuckles cracked. He snapped his eyes open, only to come face-to-face with Yu Wenzhi’s bare chest.
Sheng Xu was dazed for a second.
Yu Wenzhi noticed his staring eyes, raised an eyebrow, and turned back to his own bed. With his back to Sheng Xu, he grabbed a T-shirt and pulled it on.
“You bought the snacks, right? Thanks.” He shifted the topic nonchalantly.
The sentence struck right at an embarrassing secret.
Sheng Xu had spent a long time looking for an import store, enduring the bewildered stares of children and girls in the shop while carrying those “crappy things” through the streets, only to be asked by the cashier with a smile if he was buying them for his girlfriend.
His expression turned terrible. He sat up abruptly, shoved his hands into his pockets, and dropped a stiff sentence: “Don’t bother me with such trivial shit.”
I didn’t “buy” them.
I just happened to have spare change in my pocket that I couldn’t get rid of.
Everyone knows how uncomfortable it is to have a bunch of paper bills stuffed in your pocket; you’d want to throw them away anywhere.
Yu Wenzhi was truly being sentimental for nothing.
Sheng Xu strode out of the room and slammed the door hard. The door frame rattled twice, sweeping away the lingering steam in the room.
