Dangerous Merman: How Did the Law Enforcer End Up Kissing Him? - Chapter 2
Chapter 2: Bribery
Outside the window, the rain poured down, clattering against the glass. The moonlight in the corridor stretched the merman’s shadow, casting a particularly terrifying silhouette.
Chen Ji stopped in front of Su Chengwen’s bedroom to sniff.
Confirmed—this was the place!
He had no concept of opening a door. He slapped his fish tail against the floor and thought for two seconds.
Suddenly—
He raised his tail and split the door open directly.
“Bang!” With a loud crash, the door cracked into two halves and fell to the ground.
Su Chengwen sprang alertly from the bed. Reacting swiftly, he stuffed a pillow under the quilt to create a curved bulge, leaned his side against the wall, and half-crouched to pull a handgun from the nightstand.
A faint breeze blew, stray black hairs fluttering above his brow. Su Chengwen’s brow arched slightly, his facial muscles tensed, and he waited, poised to strike the ‘prey’ about to walk into his line of fire.
Outside the door, a terrifying and eerie figure entered the bedroom.
Judging by the shadow: long hair, no gap between the legs… and a bifurcated tail tip!
It was the merman.
The next second, that figure bent over, picked the door back up, and gently leaned it against the two sides of the wall. He hurriedly withdrew his hands and rubbed the dust onto his tail to hide the evidence of his crime.
Only kill the villain, don’t kill anything else…
Chen Ji raised a hand to comfortingly pat the door, looking like a clumsy oaf trying to make amends cautiously after doing something wrong.
The corner of Su Chengwen’s mouth twitched upward.
So it’s… a little dummy fish?
Chen Ji propped his body up to the edge of the bed. His fish tail swept up the quilt and the pillow together, tossing them upward.
Goose feathers drifted throughout the entire room.
Su Chengwen, whose life had nearly hung by a thread in the corner: “……………”
He pulled the trigger and nimbly seized control of Chen Ji’s neck from behind.
The ice-cold handgun was pressed against Chen Ji’s fish tail.
A merman’s tail is like a human heart.
It is a lethal point.
As expected, Chen Ji’s body suddenly began to shiver. He put his webbed hand into his mouth to bite it and cursed tearfully: “Villain…”
“Now you know to be afraid? A little fish in heat dares to wander around? Hmm?”
Su Chengwen’s tone was flippant.
Chen Ji slapped his tail tip against the floor. “Hot!”
“Clatter, clatter…”
Pearl-like things struck the marble tiles.
Su Chengwen: “…………?”
Is he crying?
“Uh, let’s make a deal. You don’t move, and I won’t kill you.”
“e…en~”
Chen Ji’s voice was intermittent.
Su Chengwen didn’t fully trust him. Holding the person hostage, he went to the living room, where his belt with sedatives was located.
Upon reaching the living room, Su Chengwen successfully injected the sedative into Chen Ji’s body!
“ang~”
Chen Ji let out a scream that was almost a piteous wail and collapsed onto the sofa.
The collar monitor jumped from red to green.
“Merman has lost intent to kill.”
Lying on a soft cushion for the first time, Chen Ji squinted his silver-grey pupils with pleasure. He rolled over limply and— ‘thud’—hit the floor!
“Ow, ow~”
Chen Ji rubbed his head with his webbed hand. His long hair got tangled around the webbing. He paused for a moment, and while pulling at his hair, he wailed: “Awooo~~~”
“This… he didn’t knock himself stupid, did he?”
Su Chengwen strode to the entryway to turn on the lights. The incandescent light brightened the living room. Beneath the European-style chandelier, Chen Ji opened his silver eyes and blinked at Su Chengwen.
“Ow?”
Chen Ji tilted his head, his eyes showing confusion.
As their eyes met, an eerie light emanated from Chen Ji’s silver pupils, gradually turning Su Chengwen’s pitch-black eyes white.
Su Chengwen’s consciousness and skin were being scorched together; it felt as if his blood was about to run dry. A merman in heat has eyes with a bewitching effect, capable of enticing any species to mate with them.
Su Chengwen looked around with a parched mouth, finally fixing his gaze on the floor five meters away.
On a cold, long-haired merman… Su Chengwen approached Chen Ji; it was a survival instinct.
Every step he took was no different from walking on magma. At this moment, the surroundings felt like a massive furnace, seemingly intent on refining him.
Unknowingly… Su Chengwen walked up to Chen Ji and stopped.
He reached out and touched Chen Ji’s fish tail.
The scorching temperature turned a patch of Chen Ji’s tail red.
Su Chengwen hoisted the person from the floor and tossed him onto the sofa. Chen Ji, who had lived in a freezing water tank for years, could not adapt to the temperature of human skin.
“Hot! Hot!”
Chen Ji slapped his tail against the floor, wanting to run…
As if anticipating his behavior, Su Chengwen grabbed his fish tail, wrapped the tail tip in his palm, and licked his parched lips. “Don’t, don’t be afraid.”
Under the influence of the sedative, Chen Ji’s consciousness gradually blurred.
The moment before he lost consciousness, Chen Ji’s fins unfurled…
The next day.
“Awake?”
Su Chengwen grinned, leaning down to look at Chen Ji on the bed, looking dashing and unrestrained.
Chen Ji shrank back.
“Vil… mm?” Lain!
Before the second syllable could come out, Su Chengwen stuffed a cookie into Chen Ji’s mouth.
Chen Ji chewed…
He suddenly widened his pupils and blinked with immense excitement.
Su Chengwen straightened his back. “Is it good?”
Chen Ji held out his hand, his eyes shining.
Su Chengwen: “Let’s discuss something.”
Chen Ji tilted his head, not understanding.
Su Chengwen shook the pack of cookies in his hand. “Just listen to me.”
What Chen Ji understood was: “You… &*, my *¥#.”
Chen Ji pondered for a while, withdrew his hand, and shook his head.
Anticipating this, Su Chengwen pulled out another pack of cookies and shook them.
Chen Ji crossed his arms over his chest, turning his head away and ignoring him with a ‘tsundere’ look, yet his eyeballs were fixedly following the movement of Su Chengwen’s hand.
By the time Su Chengwen reached five packs…
Chen Ji curled his lip and held out his hand again.
The meaning was: Give them to me.
Su Chengwen piled the five packs of cookies in front of Chen Ji. Chen Ji turned his head back and raised his hand to high-five Su Chengwen!
Chen Ji ate all five packs of cookies in one go. When the quilt was pulled back, a pair of fair, straight legs were held together like a fish tail, trembling slightly…
The fish tail had turned into legs, and they were covered in ambiguous marks…
Su Chengwen’s pupils underwent an earthquake.
Commander Su Chengwen, who usually followed morals and laws and never violated public order or good customs, felt as if the sky were falling.
Everything from last night…
Was real!
He had ‘done’ a fish, and he had used five packs of cookies to abduct a little dummy fish with no social experience.
He was practically lower than a beast!
Carrying a heavy sense of guilt toward the organization, Su Chengwen washed the fish clean with a tragic solemnity and took him to the MHS Command Bureau.
Forty years ago, when Dr. Thal went out to sea for research, he encountered mermen in the Strait of Gibraltar. Since then, MHS Command Bureaus were established in cities near the sea.
The existence of the MHS Command Bureau is to maintain peace between land residents and marine life, and to protect human safety.
When Su Chengwen led a man with long hair and silver pupils—who wore a very innocent expression despite his red-rimmed eyes and the specialized collar around his neck—and appeared at the entrance of the Command Bureau…
The entire Command Bureau exploded.
“Morning, Uncle Wen~”
Su Chengwen greeted the security guard warmly.
The guard spat out a tea leaf stem and stared at the collar on Chen Ji’s neck, looking at Su Chengwen with an incredibly strange expression: Commander, you sure play ‘wild,’ don’t you?
Su Chengwen: “?”
Chen Ji tugged at Su Chengwen’s sleeve and sidestepped into the shade, pointing at the scorching sun overhead to indicate to Su Chengwen that he was hot.
He was about to be dried into a little fish jerky.
Su Chengwen: “………… Quite delicate.”
He took off his coat, draped it over Chen Ji’s head, and led the person with one arm wrapped around him straight to the Bureau Chief’s office.
While walking up the stairs, Su Chengwen asked in a low voice: “Do you remember what you promised?”
Chen Ji nodded, “en~”
The ending note rippled gently. Su Chengwen looked down at Chen Ji’s fluttering eyelashes.
Quite obedient…
How about we see where this specialized mission takes our Commander and his ‘little fish’ next?
