Chased by My Heartless Ex - Chapter 7
Xu You saw Zhou Siyu as her lifeline, shrinking behind her and peeking at Lu Ang in the distance.
Exchanging playthings might be an unspoken game in their circle. Just a minute ago, Lu Ang had been trying to steal Zhou Siyu’s attention, but now he stood with his long legs crossed, leaning casually against the wall, waving at Zhou Siyu as if nothing had happened.
He smiled with unrestrained boldness, as though the earlier scene had been Xu You’s delusion, and there had never been any interaction between them.
“Sister…”
Zhou Siyu heard Xu You’s timid voice and looked up at Lu Ang.
He was still radiant, still carefree, the typical image of a wealthy young master from Beicheng, all money and no sense.
“Shall we go back?” Xu You thought Zhou Siyu had come to take her home after the gift-giving formalities and asked softly.
Zhou Siyu’s jaw tightened, and she let out a faint “Mm” from her nose.
Lu Ang stood in the only path to the elevator. As they passed him, Zhou Siyu narrowed her eyes and stared at him for a moment. Though she was half a head shorter in her flat shoes, her presence far overshadowed his.
She despised any ambiguity between her possessions and those around her. Xu You might not know, but he should.
That glance was a warning to him.
“Give my regards to your father.”
“He’d be happier if you went in person.”
“Then you’d better keep that mad dog of yours on a tighter leash.”
Their conversation left Xu You utterly confused. Just as she was seriously pondering what breed the “mad dog” was and why anyone would keep one, Zhou Siyu had already started walking ahead.
Hurrying to catch up with Zhou Siyu’s pace, she heard a whisper by her ear, so soft only the two of them could hear it.
“Xu You, I look forward to seeing you again.”
Xu You was so startled she literally jumped. Afraid she might attack his prized shoes again, Lu Ang quickly closed his legs and moved out of her striking range.
“Psycho!” Xu You spat out the words before darting to the elevator lobby and standing beside Zhou Siyu.
The sound of metal chains and mechanical humming echoed unusually clearly in the soundproofed elevator lobby. The numbers on the square display climbed and paused.
Out of habit from work, Zhou Siyu entered the elevator first, with her assistant following to press the floor button. Today, Xu You took on the assistant’s task. She scanned the panel and found the round metal button engraved with “1.”
Before she could withdraw her hand, she was pulled back by the arm, her breath stolen by a pair of scorching lips.
The small, enclosed space filled with the subtle fragrance of Zhou Siyu: hints of lime, orange, bitter tea, and white pine. Xu You was utterly captivated by her kiss, while Zhou Siyu remained calm and in control, guiding and enticing her.
It seemed as though Zhou Siyu wanted to drain all the oxygen from Xu You’s body. The moment Xu You opened her mouth to gasp for air, Zhou Siyu seized the opportunity, tangling her tongue forcefully with hers.
Xu You faced the elevator door, her dazed, moist eyes losing focus as she vaguely watched her own impassioned reflection in the half-height mirror.
So intense, her tongue felt numb, and she couldn’t control the saliva escaping from the corner of her mouth.
So suffocating, it felt as though Zhou Siyu was pressing her into her very being, merging them into one.
So exhilarating, they were about to soar together into the heavens.
“Mmph!”
The elevator slowed its descent and came to a stop. The metal doors slid open on both sides, revealing two drunk men standing outside. At the sight of Xu You’s flushed face in the mirror, they sobered up instantly, too stunned to even lift their feet. The blush on Xu You’s face vanished in an instant.
Her hands pressed against Zhou Siyu’s shoulders, trying to push her away.
Zhou Siyu locked eyes with the two people outside the elevator and released Xu You’s tongue. The hand resting on her waist lifted to press Xu You’s head into the crook of her neck, shielding her face. The interruption of their intimacy left Zhou Siyu’s expression dark and dripping with displeasure. Her sharp gaze swept over the two outsiders, who instinctively hesitated to step inside.
When the elevator doors began to close at the preset time, Zhou Siyu’s free hand found one of the side buttons and pressed it. The elevator, carrying only the two of them, continued its ascent.
“Shall we keep kissing?” Sensing safety, Xu You whispered, her voice muffled and damp against the fabric of Zhou Siyu’s clothes as she buried her face in her embrace.
She felt the chest pressed against her tremble with soft vibrations. Dazed, she lifted her head to look at Zhou Siyu’s expression.
She was secretly laughing!
Xu You turned her face away, refusing to acknowledge her.
Yet, when Zhou Siyu smiled, she seemed to come alive with vivid charm, a small dimple forming on her left cheek, as if an invisible intoxicant had swept Xu You off her feet.
Unable to resist, Xu You asked, “Shall we continue at home?”
As she spoke, Xu You recalled their conversation in the car before arriving at the bar. They had exchanged the same words, each taking turns to say them, proof of their tacit understanding and perfect harmony.
Rarely did Xu You take the initiative to suggest something. Zhou Siyu answered with action.
Without the blaring music or the restless crowd, the elevator doors opened and closed several times before they stopped on a hotel floor bathed in warm light.
After presenting their identification, Zhou Siyu took the room key from the front desk. They were so familiar with the process, it was as if they were old friends. The receptionist even asked if she should assign them the same room as last time.
The flickering flame of desire gradually subsided. Xu You stole a glance at Zhou Siyu’s profile.
Does she come here often?
Has she brought others here before…?
Zhou Siyu walked straight ahead without glancing sideways, turning right at the corridor’s bend. “Go on, ask.”
“Ask what?” Xu You retorted.
Zhou Siyu stopped at the room door. The key card swiped over the magnetic sensor with a beep, and the door swung inward. The unpowered room was pitch black, its layout indiscernible.
Suddenly understanding Zhou Siyu’s meaning, Xu You’s lips quivered.
Before her question could form, a force pulled her into the room, engulfing her in darkness.
The wooden door closed, its latch clicking with a metallic sound. Zhou Siyu still held the key card in her hand.
“When they drink too much and it’s troublesome to go home, I book rooms here for them,” Zhou Siyu’s lazy voice drifted over. In the deep darkness, Xu You couldn’t see her face or meet her eyes, but hearing her explanation made her heart, which had begun to calm, beat vibrantly again.
“And I’ve never brought anyone else here either.”
Her hidden thoughts laid bare, a secret joy seized her mind, transmitting through her nerves. Xu You bit her lower lip to keep her laughter trapped in her throat.
Zhou Siyu continued.
“Let go of your lip.”
She drew closer, her unique scent washing over Xu You.
In her cool eyes, fragmented sparks of light pierced the darkness and crashed into Xu You’s gaze. Unable to resist the temptation, Xu You’s soft lips parted from her teeth.
She braced herself for a kiss that could ignite her instantly, closing her eyes and tilting her chin up slightly in anticipation.
A soft chuckle escaped Zhou Siyu’s throat. She raised her hand to insert the key card into the slot, then turned and walked toward the bathroom.
The sudden burst of light seeped through Xu You’s eyelids, staining her vision crimson. She slowly opened her eyes to see Zhou Siyu’s paused silhouette, though she didn’t look back.
“Let’s shower first.”
The teasing tone set Xu You’s face and ears ablaze. Every time they engaged in this push-and-pull, she ended up at a disadvantage. Pouting her glossy lips, she secretly vowed that one day, she would make Zhou Siyu experience the same frustration.
Besides, she wasn’t that desperate!
As the burning heat in her ears subsided, Xu You adjusted the central air conditioning and waited for Zhou Siyu to finish so she could take her turn.
Being intimate while naked was prone to sparking unintended passion. As two people with mild mysophobia, they found it hard to accept using dirty utensils for a meal. Cleaning up before getting down to business was their unspoken understanding.
Zhou Siyu had entered the bathroom empty-handed and emerged wrapped only in a towel. Feeling the air from the conditioner against her skin wasn’t chilly, she smiled at Xu You, who had just stepped into the bathroom.
“Remember to be quick.”
The only response she received was the sound of the door closing, neither too soft nor too loud.
Xu You’s fluctuating body temperature shot up. Though she told herself not to be an obedient child, she honestly hurried through wetting herself, lathering up, and rinsing off.
Once the water stopped, she wrapped her semi-dried long hair in a towel. Beads of glistening water rolled down the side of her neck, past her straight collarbones, and disappeared into the fabric covering her chest.
Zhou Siyu was leaning against the headboard, with only the two bedside lamps lit. Seeing Xu You emerge, she beckoned with a finger.
An ambiguous night, ambiguous lighting.
Xu You lay down, the restraint at her waist loosening. A leopard with glowing red eyes pounced, and she, the little white rabbit, surrendered willingly to be torn and bitten.
Clutching Zhou Siyu’s neck, she felt her scorching heat, rapid breaths, and overwhelming pleasure and sense of accomplishment. Her consciousness shattered, and she recalled the affectionate nickname Zhang Qin had called her upstairs. Her lips parted.
“Sister… Siyu… Ayu.”
Zhou Siyu, who was on top of her, froze completely, then flipped over and sat up.
With the heat source gone, her skin suddenly cooled, and the blood racing through her veins seemed to slow down.
An inexplicable panic set in. Disregarding her disheveled clothes and hair, Xu You got out of bed barefoot and chased after Zhou Siyu, who had already dressed and was heading out.
With desire faded, Zhou Siyu’s voice was cold and detached.
“Don’t follow me.”
