When the apocalypse hit, Chu Xiaoran was mid-surgery. By the time she opened her eyes, she had turned into a zombie. Looking at the mangled, hideous creatures roaming around her, Chu Xiaoran’s first thought was: Ugh… please tell me I’m not that ugly.
Clad in nothing but a surgical drape, she wandered the ruins until she was intercepted by Ling Mo; a woman who looked like a literal goddess of death.
Chu Xiaoran clutched her makeshift “blanket” and trembled. She’s terrifying! Mom, I want to go home!
Whenever a group of thugs appeared, Xiaoran would shove Ling Mo to the front and bolt.
Whenever a horde of snarling zombies charged, Xiaoran would shove Ling Mo to the front and flee.
Whenever a team of mad scientists showed up to do experiments, Xiaoran would shove Ling Mo to the front and hide.
But when Ling Mo finally lost her patience and glared at her, Xiaoran who was unable to push her away, could only curl up and shake like a leaf.
Ling Mo: “What are you so scared of? It’s not like I’m going to eat you.”
Later…
Ling Mo: “Hey, little coward… actually, I do want to eat you.”
Chu Xiaoran: (Squatting in a corner, drawing circles in the dirt) Liar. You’re a big fat liar! [Crying.jpg]

Ling Mo had been undercover at the hospital as an ordinary doctor for a mission. She never expected the world to end right after her shift. Amidst the decay and the undead, she happened to catch a very peculiar little zombie wrapped in a bright green surgical cloth. It turned out to be the daughter of the mission target!
This little zombie was vain, a total germaphobe, and a massive coward. Instead of being useful, she was a constant drag on her progress. Ling Mo was annoyed, but she had no choice and she was stuck playing babysitter to a zombie.
Yet, as the world grew colder, the little zombie offered her own awkward brand of comfort.
When she caught a fever, she grumbled with feigned disgust while hunting down medicine to nurse her back to health.
In the face of absolute peril, she remained the only one naive enough to believe in her…
Ling Mo: “Actually… keeping a little zombie like this isn’t so bad after all.”
