- Billionaire’s Journey into the Beast World, Suitors Compete to Be Fed by Her!
- Chapter 4 - She Had No Experience Raising an Electronic Pet for the First Time
In a secluded corner, Mi Yue quietly used her phone to return to the modern world.
Eagerly, she chose to spend the 10 newly acquired gratitude points.
[10 gratitude points are now in effect…]
Just like last time, a warm current surged through her body. The fatigue and soreness that had plagued her vanished, and her strength returned.
Even simple actions like breathing no longer left her exhausted.
Since falling ill, she had not only endured constant pain and frequent dizziness but also struggled with mundane tasks like bathing, drinking water, or pouring tea, each leaving her gasping for breath.
Now, there was a noticeable improvement.
Having suffered for so long, even this small relief lifted Mi Yue’s spirits.
For the first time in ages, she enjoyed a comfortable bath before drifting into a peaceful sleep.
A night of sweet dreams was interrupted by the chime and vibration of her phone.
Ding-dong!
[The Tiger Tribe Chief is about to arrive at Shaman Yue’s residence. Host, please return immediately!!!]
[Countdown: 5 minutes]
Resigned, Mi Yue got up, freshened up quickly, donned the same animal-skin robe from yesterday, and teleported back to the beast world.
[Countdown: 5, 4, 3, 2, 1.]
The moment she settled cross-legged in the bamboo hut, footsteps echoed outside.
The Tiger Tribe chief knelt respectfully outside the door, bowing his head. “The Tiger tribe chief requests an audience with Shaman Yue.”
A single tap of a bamboo staff against the floor from inside signaled permission.
With a stern expression, the tribe chief rose with the help of the males beside him and slowly pushed open the bamboo door.
The hut was filled with the fresh scent of bamboo. Inside, a young person with waist-length black hair, gender ambiguous, sat cross-legged, fingers interlaced in their lap.
At the sight of this ethereal figure, a cold glint flickered in the tribe chief’s eyes.
This was nothing more than an abandoned child, born with unlucky black hair, who had only been fortunate enough to be taken in by Shaman Jie. If not for yesterday’s divine miracle, why would a tribe chief like him stoop so low?
Having grown up observing the cunning minds of businessmen by her father’s side, Mi Yue saw right through the tribe chief’s hidden disdain.
“Shaman Yue, yesterday I failed to restrain my tribes overstep. Today, I’ve come to seek forgiveness for their transgressions.”
Standing in the hut, the tribe chief’s tone was icy and stern, flanked by several towering males. There was no real remorse in his demeanor, only the air of someone ready for a fight.
She had plenty of money. Exchanging for a few more lightning strikes to smite them would be effortless. She wasn’t afraid.
Subtly lifting her chin, she gazed ahead with an aloof indifference.
The males beside the tribe chief fidgeted nervously, wanting to speak but silenced by his sharp glance.
Mi Yue shook her head inwardly. (Such stubborn pride! Fine, let’s see who outlasts whom.) After all, she wasn’t the one feeling the pressure.
Just outside the bamboo hut, Xiu Ka overheard this thought.
The playful voice laced with a hint of pride could belong to no one but Shaman Yue’s inner monologue.
His grandfather, worried about the tribe chief bringing men to the hut, had sent Xiu Ka to check.
Who would’ve thought this seemingly frail person had such nerve, unshaken by the tribe chief’s intimidating display?
Xiu Ka: “Tiger Tribe male Xiu Ka pays respects to Shaman Yue.”
Outside the hut, Xiu Ka knelt and bowed deeply.
Since the subject of her care had arrived, naturally she had to see him.
Thus, under the increasingly dark expression of the Tiger Tribe’s chief, Xiu Ka slowly entered the bamboo house.
“Xiu Ka, what are you doing here?”
“Yesterday, I was saved by Shaman Yue. Today, I came specifically to thank him.”
The Tiger Tribe chief’s face turned ashen. “I have matters to discuss with Shaman Yue. Leave at once!”
“Chief, Shaman Yue is the master of this bamboo house. Shouldn’t you ask for her opinion first?”
Everyone turned to look at Mi Yue.
Mi Yue waved at Xiu Ka, gesturing for him to sit beside her.
Xiu Ka obediently sat down, eyes lowered, mind focused.
Seeing that Mi Yue was determined to let Xiu Ka stay, the Tiger Tribe chief gritted his teeth in frustration.
“Shaman Yue, I came today to ask about the future of the Tiger Tribe. Has the Beast God given any divine decree?”
If it weren’t for the Rabbit Tribe’s entire tribe being wiped out due to drought, he wouldn’t have bothered coming here at all.
Mi Yue lightly tapped the ground once.
The Tiger Tribe tribesmen beside her couldn’t hold back any longer.
“The Beast God truly has a decree! What did He say?”
Yesterday, Mi Yue had already learned from the system that the Tiger Tribe must migrate south to survive, otherwise, they would face annihilation.
Mi Yue lightly tapped the ground twice with two fingers. (Only migration offers a path to survival.)
Xiu Ka was shocked. “It’s so serious that we must migrate?”
Mi Yue gave him an approving look and nodded firmly.
“What?! Has it really come to this?”
“A few days ago, the Snow Wolf Tribe already began moving from their homeland. Chief, should we really migrate?”
The Tiger Tribe chief asked, “What happens if we don’t?”
Mi Yue held up three fingers, then shook her head.
No one understood, so they all looked to Xiu Ka, hoping he could interpret.
Xiu Ka felt immense pressure. “Three days? Three months?”
(For the next three years, not a single drop of rain will fall on this land. Stay, and you’ll be waiting for death.)
“Three years without rain?”
Mi Yue nodded.
The Tiger Tribe chief’s expression turned grave. “Shaman Yue, is this truly the Beast God’s decree?”
Mi Yue frowned and waved her hand impatiently. (Don’t believe me? Fine, get lost! If you die, it’s your own fault!)
Her intention to shoo them away was obvious, and no translation from Xiu Ka was needed.
Xiu Ka thought to himself, why does Shaman Yue like using the word ‘die’ so much? It’s strange.
Had he experienced the torment of learning he had an incurable illness, going from indifference, to breakdown, to attempting suicide, and finally acceptance, he too would have lost all reverence for the word “death.”
(So damn annoying.)
Right now, Mi Yue was deeply irritated by any behavior that disregarded life.
Why do some people who want to live can’t, while others insist on courting death?
Seeing her visibly annoyed and recalling yesterday’s thunder, the Tiger Tribe chief and his men obediently left.
Outside the bamboo house, the men anxiously turned to their chief.
“Chief, should we really migrate?”
“If the next three years bring a great drought, staying means certain death.”
While they were lost in worry, Xiu Ka quietly slipped away to hunt in the forest.
After confirming with the system that no outsiders were around the bamboo house, Mi Yue returned to her bedroom.
The earlier matter had been urgent, and she hadn’t had time for breakfast. Now, her stomach growled with hunger.
The housekeeper had already been dismissed, so she could only order takeout.
Carbs and sweets always lifted her mood, so she quickly placed an order for a few cream-filled buns and added a tip for express delivery.
While waiting for her takeout, she opened Feixun to check and saw that Xiu Ka’s health bar still wasn’t full, which made her a little worried.
It was her first time raising a digital pet, and she had no experience. She really hoped nothing would go wrong, otherwise, her grand plan for survival would be ruined.
