Chapter 34: “Master… Please Go Out… Little Wolf Needs to Get Dressed…”
Liu Ran squatted on the ground, glancing up at Ming Siyu. Unable to focus on which of the three Ming Siyus was real, she looked down at the flower stem in her hand.
The stem had also become three.
She mumbled to herself, “Why is the answer always the same…”
Ming Siyu rubbed her throbbing temples. “Because that kind of flower only has an even number of petals. If you don’t change the order of your options, you’ll always land on the second one. How can you be so stupid?”
“Hurry up and get up.”
So that was why. Liu Ran sadly tossed away the bald flower stem and wobbled to her feet, leaning against the car for support.
She couldn’t seem to control her body; as soon as she stood up, she pitched forward.
She landed directly on Ming Siyu.
Ming Siyu, also lacking strength, nearly toppled over. She grabbed the car door to steady herself.
Liu Ran smelled heavily of alcohol. Her chin rested on Ming Siyu’s shoulder, her words slurred and muddled: “Mmm… can’t move…”
Immediately, Ming Siyu felt something nuzzle against her neck, followed by a puff of warm air against her ear.
“So fragrant… but I hate it… don’t like it, don’t like it… don’t like Ming Siyu’s scent… because it’s Ming Siyu’s scent, I don’t like it…”
The sticky, slurred words hammered against Ming Siyu’s eardrums.
Her mind cleared. Her thumb pressed hard against the tip of her index finger. Even drunk, the only thing the Little Wolf remembered was hating her.
I must hold quite a heavy weight in her heart then, Ming Siyu thought. She doesn’t even forget to mention it when she’s this drunk.
The corners of Ming Siyu’s mouth lifted into a smile. However, it wasn’t clear if it was from the exhaustion of the day or the alcohol, but she wasn’t truly happy. The smile lasted half a second before vanishing.
Enduring Liu Ran’s weight, she reached out and swatted Liu Ran’s pert backside. “If you don’t like it, why are you clinging so close? It’s boiling hot. Get off me this instant. I’m counting. Three—two—one—”
Hearing the countdown, Liu Ran instinctively stood up straight as ordered and staggered back a few steps to create distance.
However, in her blurred vision, three Ming Siyus appeared again.
No! Not three Ming Siyus!
One Ming Siyu was terrifying enough. If there were three, wouldn’t she be buried without a grave? No, no, no! Just a moment ago, there wasn’t even one! There was only the scent of her perfume!
How did Ming Siyu disappear just now? Liu Ran thought sluggishly.
She shook her head, feeling top-heavy, nearly swaying herself over like a stalk of dogtail grass.
She remembered. She had followed the “bad woman’s” orders, and then she had seen the bad woman. She shouldn’t have listened. She had to return to the state where she couldn’t see her. If she couldn’t see her, the bad woman surely wouldn’t exist.
She lunged forward and hugged the person in front of her.
When she opened her eyes again, Ming Siyu had indeed vanished.
Ah, it seems I didn’t get stupider even though I’m drunk. Problem identified, problem solved.
Worried that if she didn’t squeeze hard enough Ming Siyu would return to her sight, Liu Ran tightened her arms and spread her legs slightly to maintain stability. Even though it was indeed hot, she figured a little heat was a small price to pay for not seeing Ming Siyu.
The back of her neck was pinched.
“Liu Ran, if you don’t want to die, get the hell away from me,” a voice ground out near her ear.
Who was commanding her? Sounds like Ming Siyu.
Ignore it. Doing the opposite of what Ming Siyu wanted was the right way to go.
“I won’t.” Instead of letting go, Liu Ran squeezed harder.
Ming Siyu felt her bones ache from the grip. She knew Liu Ran was strong, but she hadn’t realized how strong. She tried to pull away, but it was impossible. The physical prowess of an S-class Alpha was truly not to be underestimated.
The Little Wolf was having another one of her “episodes.” Howling about how much she hated her one moment, then clinging on for dear life the next. Did she want to be close or not?
She had specifically warned Liu Ran not to make a scene before the banquet, yet here she was, pulling this nonsense.
Carrying over a hundred pounds of weight, Ming Siyu was reaching her limit. She ordered the driver: “Knock her out.”
The driver tremblingly pulled a metal self-defense baton from the car. “Director Ming, will… will this work?”
Ming Siyu eyed the weight of the metal. If the force wasn’t controlled perfectly, one hit wouldn’t just knock her out; it would turn into a murder scene.
“Forget it.” She told the driver to pull Liu Ran off instead.
But Liu Ran had turned into human superglue. Her desire to not see Ming Siyu was so strong that she believed she had to bury her face in the body in front of her to stay safe.
“No, no… waah…” Liu Ran started crying.
Ming Siyu took off Liu Ran’s hat to squeeze her ears and pinched the base of her tail through the fabric, trying to make her behave. This had no effect other than making Liu Ran’s legs go weak, causing her to hang even more heavily on Ming Siyu.
Furthermore, the alcohol-dulled Little Wolf had much less self-control. After only a few touches, she began to pant softly. Forgetting they were in an outdoor parking lot, small moans escaped her throat, mixed with the whimpers of her sobbing. She looked exactly as if she were about to go into heat right then and there.
Ming Siyu was at a loss. She couldn’t let Liu Ran release pheromones here.
She had no choice but to stay in the embrace and tumble into the back of the car with Liu Ran her oversized human ornament. The driver closed the door from the outside. Liu Ran lay awkwardly on the leather seat with Ming Siyu pinned on top of her, face down, like a game of Jenga.
The pressure hit Liu Ran’s churning stomach. She let out a retch, nearly vomiting to the side.
She instinctively covered her mouth and rolled her body. The clamp on Ming Siyu’s waist finally loosened, and she scrambled off of Liu Ran.
Liu Ran gagged but didn’t throw up. She lay back down, covered in cold sweat. She painfully closed her eyes, using her remaining senses to feel the world. Her surroundings felt familiar now, and Ming Siyu was gone only the faint scent of the “Post-Blizzard” perfume lingered.
Liu Ran actually loved this scent. The Dire Wolf genes in her body made her instinctively drawn to snow and cold. She imagined herself as a young Dire Wolf, huddling in a warm cave with her mother during a blizzard, then poking her head out after the snow stopped to see the world covered in white.
Her stomach hurt. Liu Ran curled into a ball, her tail peeking out from her dress to wrap around her arms along with her tucked-up legs. With her face pressed against her own fluffy tail, she felt a bit more at ease.
Liu Ran’s head was turned toward the opposite door. Her tail had lifted her skirt, leaving her long, snow-white legs completely exposed to Ming Siyu.
Ming Siyu’s eyes darkened.
She had noticed long ago that the human parts of the Little Wolf were also exceptionally enticing. But she didn’t need them. She didn’t need a young, fresh, vibrant Alpha body. All she needed was the unique “fluffy.”
Ming Siyu grabbed her coat and tossed it over Liu Ran’s exposed legs.
Liu Ran wasn’t asleep. She nuzzled her tail, murmuring intermittently.
“Must… marry… marry Jian Huaijin…”
Making a wish, are we? Ming Siyu thought. Too bad I’m not the turtle in your wishing well.
Liu Ran’s reason for wanting her to marry Jian Huaijin was simple; she didn’t even have to think to know it was the hope that Jian Huaijin would kick her out, allowing her to leave legitimately.
“You are my Little Wolf,” Ming Siyu whispered. How could she place her hope of life or death in someone else’s hands?
Didn’t you promise to be good and stop trying to run away?
Liar.
A lying Little Wolf never gets her wishes granted.
Ming Siyu leaned over, gently brushing a stray hair behind Liu Ran’s ear to reveal her flushed, innocent, drunken face. She scratched the wolf ears; they flattened against her head to avoid the irritation.
Ming Siyu gazed at her profile, her look softening into a smile. Like a mother coaxing a child to sleep, her words were slow and gentle.
“Don’t even think about it, Liu Ran.”
“I won’t be with Jian Huaijin. And even in the impossible event that I married her, I would dig a basement in our wedding home a basement only the two of us know about. I’d lock you in there beforehand. When she’s home, I’ll play her wife; when she’s away, I’ll still be your Master.
I’ll open that door at any moment to touch you, toy with you, and make you tremble under my hand just like before… You won’t have the right to go into heat; I’ll inject you with enough suppressants… You’ll cry out for her to hear, but with a muzzle on, you won’t be able to form words. The walls are so thick that even if she heard, she’d just think it was a dog barking in the distance…”
“So, Little Wolf, until the day I die, you are mine.”
Liu Ran kept her eyes closed. Her chaotic brain couldn’t process what she heard, but she shivered involuntarily.
Nearby, behind the neatly trimmed bushes of the parking lot, Ming Siwei stood holding a gift box, silently watching Ming Siyu’s car.
She had seen Liu Ran hug Ming Siyu, and Ming Siyu hadn’t pushed her away. She had allowed the girl to hang on her as they both fell into the backseat.
The luxury car one of only six in the world drove past her. Ming Siwei stood in the shadows; no one in the car noticed her, but she could see inside. For a fraction of a second, she saw her sister leaning over Liu Ran, whispering tenderly.
Ming Siwei gripped the ribbon of her gift box tightly.
Is this what Liu Ran meant by “not liking her”?
Liu Ran passed out halfway home. The driver and Qi Zhen managed to carry her inside, where she spent the rest of the night vomiting into the toilet.
Ming Siyu wouldn’t wash her, and she wouldn’t let Qi Zhen do it either. So, Liu Ran was simply left on the sofa.
Liu Ran had blacked out. Her memory ended at escorting the Jian sisters to the parking lot. Waking up with a gap in her memory was a terrifying feeling.
Ming Siyu ate her breakfast slowly, asking with wicked amusement if Liu Ran remembered what she did last night. Seeing that tone, Liu Ran’s heart sank. Did I act like a drunk fool?
Ming Siyu saw immediately that she had blacked out. Perfect for some creative storytelling.
“Yesterday, you knelt on the floor clutching my legs, crying that you’d be my Little Wolf forever. You begged me not to throw you away, saying you’d give me everything—your body, your life, your money… Oh, and you were shamelessly in heat, wagging your tail and begging me to touch you, licking my hands and calling me ‘Master’ over and over…”
Liu Ran’s face turned green.
Impossible! Absolutely impossible! I’d sooner die than do those things! This is all Ming Siyu’s disgusting fantasy!
Ming Siyu waved her phone. “I took a video.”
Liu Ran felt the world go dark. She knew Ming Siyu was a professional liar, but she said there was a video…
She had been sure it was a lie, but now she wasn’t so certain. She felt sick and afraid. The more she knew Ming Siyu, the more she realized how depraved the woman was beneath her cold, noble exterior. The real Ming Siyu was wicked and lewd.
Stunned, she didn’t say a word, only giving Ming Siyu her back.
Ming Siyu added, “Liu Ran, how about a trade? Come here and let me touch your ears, and I’ll delete the video.”
Liu Ran had learned to sneer from her. “Delete it or don’t. I don’t care.”
Failing to get the reaction she wanted, Ming Siyu huffed and slapped her phone on the table.
But as the elevator descended later, a head suddenly appeared in front of her. With her ears drooping dejectedly, Liu Ran chose to be safe rather than sorry. She hissed through gritted teeth, “Just one touch. Then delete it.”
Liu Ran thought she’d be doing her usual chores sorting files, setting up meetings, and being a portable ear-petting station. Instead, Ming Siyu sent her with Secretary Lin and the asset appraisal team to a project site.
“Ask Secretary Lin if you don’t understand something. It’s a half-day trip. No adding anyone’s contact info, no wandering off alone, or I’ll dig a basement and bury you in it,” Ming Siyu warned.
Liu Ran’s ears were calloused to these threats. What surprised her was that a control freak like Ming Siyu, who usually wanted her on a short leash, was letting her go to a site without her.
Ming Siyu read her mind. “You think you can get paid 80,000 to only do 20,000 worth of work?”
Liu Ran happily went with Secretary Lin. Getting a raise and a break from Ming Siyu? It felt like a dream. She even wondered if it was a trap that they weren’t going to a project site, but a crime scene where she was the victim.
In the car, Secretary Lin gave her a knowing look while handing over some documents. They hadn’t seen each other since the construction site incident in the neighboring city. Liu Ran ducked her head, pretending to read the documents she didn’t understand.
“Secretary Liu, you look much better than the last time I saw you,” Lin said while driving.
“Haha, really? Thanks.”
“How did you and Director Ming meet anyway?” Lin asked, making a sharp turn at a yellow light. Her sunglasses couldn’t hide her gossipy eyes. “I’ve never seen her so invested in anyone. You know, when you were gone, everyone was walking on eggshells. Even Secretary Wen got chewed out. But as soon as you came back, it was like the clouds parted.”
Met in a basement, Liu Ran thought. Invested? Whoever wants this kind of “investment” can have it.
“An accident. We met by accident,” Liu Ran mumbled.
Secretary Lin glanced at the rearview mirror. “You don’t have to be shy about using connections. Knowing someone is a skill in itself. So many people try to get close to the Director and fail. In the entertainment group, plenty of actors tried to climb into her bed.
The timid ones just paraded in front of her in skimpy clothes; the bold ones tried to drug her. Honestly, back then, there was a line for people trying to drug her. There was even a somewhat famous Alpha actor—I won’t say who—who thought she was asexual and actually underwent a gland castration to get close. Such a sacrifice.”
“And then?” Liu Ran couldn’t help but ask.
“Nothing. He was blacklisted. Once his contract was up, he disappeared.” Lin was excited. “Cherish the opportunity! I have high hopes for you. Hey, we’re not there yet, isn’t that hat uncomfortable? Take it off.”
Liu Ran immediately clutched her head. “No, I get a cold head if I don’t wear a hat in summer.”
Lin gave her a strange look. “Okay then. I thought you were just doing it for the look. Your face shape is so smooth, you’d look great without it. The entertainment group has a styling team; you could ask the Director to let them style you. Change things up, give her some ‘freshness.’ Hehe.”
Liu Ran’s head started to ache.
Secretary Lin didn’t stop talking the whole way. Since the boss wasn’t there, the field trip felt like a school outing. Only when they arrived at the old shopping mall scheduled for demolition did she turn serious. Liu Ran checked her appearance in the mirror, took a breath, and followed Lin inside.
They met a high-level executive called Manager Li. Lin was friendly with her. While Liu Ran followed Lin’s instructions to take photos, Manager Li kept eyeing her. “A new hire? I haven’t seen her before. Why don’t we all have lunch together? My treat.”
Lin saw right through her. “Manager Li, don’t even look. Lunch is out—she’s the Director’s person. I was specifically told she has to be back before noon. Don’t go spreading rumors.”
Hearing she was “Ming Siyu’s person,” Manager Li regretfully looked away.
Liu Ran spent the morning busy. The mall had been closed for six months, and the power was out. They climbed floor by floor to check fixed assets. Wearing a hat, long sleeves, and pants, Liu Ran was soon soaked in sweat, her face flushed.
Just before noon, Ming Siyu called.
Liu Ran was counting registers with a team member when “A Master” popped up on the screen. She answered instantly, pressing the phone to her ear and walking away to hide the shameful contact name.
“Hello?”
“Time to come back,” Ming Siyu’s lazy, rising tone came through. Liu Ran’s ear was sweaty, making the screen feel sticky. It reminded her of being pressed against the office desk while Ming Siyu whispered in her ear. She shook her head to clear the image.
“Oh, almost done.”
“Don’t give me ‘almost.’ Come back right now. Don’t make me call Secretary Lin.” Ming Siyu hung up.
Liu Ran gave the black screen a fierce middle finger. Ming Siyu was such a tyrant. One command, and everyone had to drop everything.
The understanding Secretary Lin immediately drove her back. They arrived just at lunchtime. Ming Siyu had already ordered food and started eating.
The heat and sweat had ruined Liu Ran’s appetite. She ate a few bites and put down her chopsticks, opting for ice water instead.
Ming Siyu watched her. “There’s a shower in the lounge. Go wash up if you’re sweaty.”
Liu Ran was thrilled. She ran into the lounge, stripped, and took a comfortable shower. Only when she finished did she realize she had no clean clothes. There was a wardrobe in the lounge with several suits, but they were all Ming Siyu’s.
She stood naked in the bathroom, debating whether to put her sweaty clothes back on.
The lounge door opened, and Ming Siyu walked in. She stood outside the frosted glass door of the bathroom, teasing: “The Little Wolf is taking her sweet time. Did you wash your tail properly? Did you use a hair mask on the fur?”
“You… go out!” Liu Ran said, her voice lacking confidence. “I need to get dressed.”
Through the frosted glass, Ming Siyu couldn’t see clearly, but she could see the silhouette of a naked body glistening with water. Having not seen the Little Wolf all morning, she felt a restlessness in her heart. She couldn’t resist teasing her.
“Little Wolf, you’re the one asking for a favor right now.”
Liu Ran was speechless. Ming Siyu always caught her at her most vulnerable to make shameless demands. She told herself not to get angry. She lowered her voice, speaking as if she were reciting lines in a play.
“…Master… please go out… Little Wolf needs to get dressed…”
The muffled, damp plea reached the person standing outside. It sounded like a coy invitation.
Ming Siyu’s breath hitched. Her playful smile froze, and her hands slowly clenched into fists, her knuckles turning white.
Bathroom. Naked. Water drops. Tail. Plea. Master.
As the words pieced together, Ming Siyu couldn’t stop a breathless image from forming in her mind. Realizing what she was thinking, her gaze turned cold. Her desire to tease the girl vanished. Perhaps her rut was coming; otherwise, it was impossible for one sentence from the Little Wolf to make her imagination run wild.
Ming Siyu turned, grabbed a bathrobe from the cabinet, hung it on the rack outside the bathroom door, and walked out of the lounge without a word.
Liu Ran heard the heels recede, followed by a loud slam of the door. She had no idea why Ming Siyu was suddenly throwing a tantrum again.
