Chapter 3: “You Promised Not to Touch My Ears!”
How dare she hurt her.
Ming Siyu couldn’t remember the last time she had been defied like this. Since the day she was born, aside from that bratty little sister of hers, Ming Siwei, no one had dared to treat her this way.
And she wouldn’t even let her touch her ears.
Those wolf ears and the tail were created specifically to be touched. Just as chopsticks were for eating and beds were for sleeping, being petted was a “furry’s” utility it was their basic attribute as a commodity.
Disobedient.
For a moment, Ming Siyu ignored the pain in her foot and increased the pressure of her grip on the girl’s throat. In her worldview, disobedience only happened because the pain wasn’t great enough. If she held a gun to Liu Ran’s head and made her choose between a bullet and baring her ears, she didn’t believe the girl wouldn’t give in.
Unfortunately, gun control in the Empire was strict; she didn’t have the chance to use a firearm on her.
Liu Ran’s face turned pale from the choking, but her hands remained firmly over her head. A heavy wave of irritation surged in Ming Siyu’s chest. Keeping one hand on Liu Ran’s neck, she reached down with the other to grab the tail.
She remembered the tail was injured. She had originally planned to pet the ears first and wait for the tail to heal Ming Siyu considered herself quite kind for proactively leaving time for the tail to recover.
But Liu Ran was ungrateful. Since the ears were off-limits, she wouldn’t blame her for moving on to the tail early.
She didn’t grab the tail, but she touched something else.
The moment skin met skin, Liu Ran felt all the blood rush to her head. Her mind went blank, and tears of shame burst from her eyes.
Ming Siyu refined in name, but a “civilized beast” in reality… beneath the polished exterior of the Ming Group’s heiress was a total pervert. Taking advantage of the fact that Liu Ran was weak from muscle relaxants, she tried to touch her ears immediately and who could just touch ears casually? When denied, she choked her and then touched… there…
Ming Siyu froze for a split second before realizing where her hand was.
She looked down and saw Liu Ran’s legs pressed tightly together. The nightgown had shifted up above her lower abdomen.
She slowly withdrew her hand.
Her previous anger turned into a playful, mocking smirk. “Liu Ran, little wolf… little puppy… is this how the researchers taught you to ‘seduce’ your master?”
The stars and artists in her company, desperate to climb the social ladder, had used similar tactics on her more than once.
But the visual impact Liu Ran provided was different from the others. Despite being an S-class Alpha, she was currently curled against the door like an abused puppy, tears rolling down her cheeks. Her lower face was flushed red from the bite guard, her exposed skin was covered in various wounds, and the tail hidden behind her trembled slightly.
It looked as if she were the one being victimized.
Liu Ran shook her head while crying.
Bullshit. You narcissistic psycho.
Only a lunatic would try to seduce Ming Siyu. It was clearly Ming Siyu who hadn’t let anyone prepare proper clothes for her, and now she was shifting the blame. Why didn’t Ming Siyu just drop dead?
If her mouth wasn’t forced shut by the bite guard, she would have bitten Ming Siyu to death. She tried desperately to hold back her tears; crying in front of this woman felt like a brand of humiliation she had never known.
But she had that cursed “crying-reflex” constitution—the more she told herself not to cry, the harder the tears fell.
Ming Siyu released the hand that was depriving Liu Ran of air. She pulled a small, silver, gleaming key from her blazer pocket and dangled it in front of Liu Ran.
Liu Ran recognized it as the key to the bite guard. If she wanted to eat, speak, or bite, that key was the only way.
“Liu Ran, take your hands off your ears,” Ming Siyu commanded in a voice that brooked no refusal.
Liu Ran hesitated between protecting her ears and unlocking the guard. She was so thirsty; her body was in a state of extreme dehydration. She even used her tongue to catch the tears rolling toward the corner of her mouth to moisten her parched throat.
Ming Siyu spoke again: “Liu Ran, take your hands down. I can’t unlock the guard like this.”
“Be good. Before I unlock it, I won’t touch your ears.”
Liu Ran searched Ming Siyu’s face to judge the truth of those words. But Ming Siyu’s face was a mask; she managed her facial muscles as perfectly as her idols managed their weight. Even her breathing had steadied.
Liu Ran suddenly remembered what Ming Siyu had said to the researcher earlier today: I don’t like repeating myself.
She had already made Ming Siyu repeat herself once. What would happen if there was a second time?
It’s okay to let go, Liu Ran told herself. If I feel her trying to touch them, I’ll just cover them again instantly.
Thinking this, Liu Ran slowly lowered her hands. Her ears pricked up instantly, then flattened back against her head a second later. The fur on them was messy and ruffled, giving her a look of disheveled beauty—cute and pitiful.
While keeping a wary eye on Ming Siyu’s every move, she quickly tugged the nightgown back down. She bowed her head slightly to make it easier for Ming Siyu to reach the lock.
Ming Siyu leaned in. Her breath brushed against the fine fuzz on the tips of Liu Ran’s ears. Liu Ran twitched her ears uncontrollably, trying to shake off the ticklish sensation, her body tense like a drawn bow, terrified that Ming Siyu would go back on her word.
With the tempting wolf ears right in front of her, a thought flickered in Ming Siyu’s mind.
The moment the bite guard clicked open, Liu Ran felt something moist and warm envelop one of her ears. Then, the tip of her ear was pinched by something hard.
Realizing Ming Siyu was using her teeth to bite her ear, the fur on Liu Ran’s tail exploded.
She shoved Ming Siyu away.
“You said you wouldn’t touch my ears!”
Her mouth muscles, bound for too long, couldn’t return to normal instantly. Her tongue felt stiff and sour, making her speech slurred. As soon as she spoke, she felt something dribble from the corner of her mouth.
She wiped it with her hand—it was saliva.
Drooling while speaking in front of someone was even more humiliating than crying. Liu Ran felt an agonizing sense of shame.
Ming Siyu caught the doorframe and stabilized herself. Her patience, however, had completely run out.
One or two acts of resistance could be considered “playful charm,” but three or four? That was pushing it. Who did Liu Ran think she was? A half-human, half-wolf mutt. If she hadn’t suited her taste for “furries,” Ming Siyu wouldn’t have wasted a single word on her. She was a product Ming Siyu had paid for. Was a master supposed to take cues from a little pet she bought?
Liu Ran was asking for trouble.
The last trace of warmth vanished from Ming Siyu’s eyes, leaving them as desolate as a snowy night.
“I didn’t touch them. I bit them.”
Her voice was cold, as if she were speaking through ice.
Liu Ran choked on her next words. Yes, she didn’t touch them—but wasn’t biting even worse than touching?
She bared her teeth, her nose wrinkling in a snarl, the tips of her canines peeking out. “You’re just twisting words! You have no honor at all. You’re a liar!”
To Ming Siyu, Liu Ran’s indignant rage carried zero weight; it was so naive it bordered on stupidity. She had promised not to touch the ears, and she had kept her word. She almost felt like crying tears of joy over her own integrity.
Besides, what if she did lie? Life was built on various lies. If she told the truth about everything, the Ming Entertainment Group would have been torn apart by rivals long ago.
“And what about you? Liu Ran, you’re the liar. A liar in action.” Ming Siyu spoke slowly, in that infuriatingly leisurely pace. “You lie at my bedroom door without underwear to seduce me, yet you won’t let me touch your tail or ears—isn’t that a deception?”
Liu Ran was furious. “That’s because I couldn’t find any underwear I could wear! And I would never seduce you in my entire life!”
“Liu Ran, that is no way for a little wolf to speak to her master.”
The corner of Ming Siyu’s mouth twitched into a mirthless smile. She pushed up her glasses.
Then, she swung her hand.
This time, without the bite guard in the way, the slap landed fully on Liu Ran’s left cheek with a crisp crack.
“Snarling again? Did you forget the first rule I told you today? A master’s patience isn’t infinite. There are punishments for being bad, so a little wolf needs to learn how to read the room.” Ming Siyu stood up and nudged Liu Ran’s inner thigh with the tip of her toe. “Only dogs get tied to a door and drool. You don’t actually think you’re a ‘normal, ordinary human,’ do you?”
If Ming Siyu’s previous actions—the biting and the choking—were a moderate wind, this speech was a full-scale hurricane, tearing Liu Ran’s already fragile dignity into shreds.
Liu Ran’s voice was hoarse. “I never acknowledged you as my master. You bought me against my will, so I will never please you the way you want.”
Ming Siyu didn’t care whether Liu Ran tried to please her. All she wanted was to pet the ears. She sneered, “Are those ears made of cactus? Untouchable?”
Liu Ran blurted out, “Ears can only—”
Only a lover can touch them.
The tail, too. Whether it was stroking, licking, or gentle nibbling—these were intimate acts reserved for lovers. In a wolf pack, ears and tails were vital for expressing affection; only those with a deep bond were allowed to touch them. In a human-wolf hybrid, this genetic trait was even more concentrated.
Moreover, touching the ears and tail didn’t just bring emotional comfort; it triggered a physiological response. Liu Ran didn’t know how the researchers discovered it, but the nerves in her ears and tail were hypersensitive. A little teasing could cause uncontrollable excitement, tearing, and arousal. Though she hated to admit it, she had trembled involuntarily the moment Ming Siyu bit her ear.
That was exactly why she couldn’t let Ming Siyu have her way.
Ming Siyu clearly knew this. She had seen the researcher give Ming Siyu the “Liu Ran Exclusive Domestication Manual.”
That manual detailed the sensitivity of the wolf ears and tail on the very first page. It taught the master where to touch and how to pet to force the subject into an agonizing state of heat as quickly as possible. Ming Siyu didn’t lack the knowledge of what touching the ears meant; she was simply too used to being superior to care.
After all, the one who would suffer arousal was Liu Ran. The one in pain would be Liu Ran. The one prone to developing a psychological dependency would be Liu Ran. None of these negative effects would touch Ming Siyu, so naturally, she didn’t care.
Liu Ran realized further words were useless and shut her mouth.
Whether she was annoyed by Liu Ran or because that one bite had satisfied her, Ming Siyu felt her craving for the “furry” lessen. Without the craving, Liu Ran was useless to her for now.
She untied the leather lead from the doorknob and dragged Liu Ran to the room at the end of the hallway. She opened the door and kicked her inside.
“Sleep well.” Her tone was filled with blatant malice.
The door slammed shut. Darkness swallowed Liu Ran instantly.
