Chapter 17: Humiliatingly Pressing Her Face Against Ming Siyu’s Knee
Just then, Secretary Wen arrived.
The thought of someone seeing her in such a disheveled state made Liu Ran want to find a crack in the floor to crawl into. Forced by circumstance, she turned a pleading gaze toward Ming Siyu, hoping she would open the door to the lounge and let her hide.
The sight of the “little wolf’s” watery eyes made Ming Siyu realize this was the perfect opportunity to domesticate her.
While calling out “Come in” to the door, Ming Siyu moved back slightly. Between the ergonomic chair and the heavy solid-wood desk, a space just large enough to hide a person remained.
Realizing Ming Siyu’s intention, Liu Ran’s blood ran cold. Ming Siyu actually wanted her to hide under the desk like a literal dog.
She clenched her fists, her body trembling uncontrollably with rage. Her silver-gray wolf ears drooped, signaling her grief and indignation. For a fleeting moment, a flicker of doubt crossed Ming Siyu’s mind—Was I actually a bit too cruel this time?
She dismissed the thought in the next second. Liu Ran was her property. Compared to other masters, she had already given Liu Ran plenty of freedom. It was the nature of pets to grow arrogant if spoiled; without proper discipline, they would succumb to the illusion that they could stand on equal footing with their owners.
She reminded Liu Ran at the right moment: “Secretary Wen is coming in.”
Looking at her rumpled dress, Liu Ran’s sorrow and resentment reached their peak. But the sound of the door opening left her in despair. Gritting her teeth, she crouched down and crawled into the space Ming Siyu had left for her. The space under the desk was only large enough for half her body to squeeze between Ming Siyu’s legs, where she sat kneeling on the floor.
Ming Siyu instantly pulled her chair back to its original position just as Secretary Wen walked in.
Hearing the sound of Secretary Wen’s high heels getting closer, Liu Ran’s breathing pulled into a taut line. She suddenly realized that being discovered now would be even more humiliating than being seen before she hid. Thus, she tried to shrink her body further, humiliatingly pressing her face against Ming Siyu’s knee.
Feeling the little wolf’s shallow breaths against her knee, Ming Siyu’s playful side took over. She kept one leg bent as it was and used her foot to step on the tip of Liu Ran’s tail trailing on the floor.
The rhythmic breathing on her knee hitched. The next breath exhaled was noticeably warmer.
The little wolf had a natural cuteness to her; she always gave exactly the reaction Ming Siyu wanted.
Secretary Wen was there for a routine report. After finishing, she mentioned Ming Siwei: “Director Ming, Miss Siwei has been contacting the staff in the Group’s film investment department these past few days. She likely wants someone to go to Country G to replace her.”
“What has she been doing in Country G lately? Is she keeping an eye on the movie?”
“Uh, I heard she rented a villa with a pool and is throwing parties every day,” Secretary Wen reported honestly.
“Then she’s having a great time.” Ming Siyu snorted with disdain. She wasn’t surprised; she had long known what kind of person Ming Siwei was. “No one is allowed to replace her. If anyone goes, they shouldn’t bother coming back for the rest of their lives.”
Listening under the desk, Liu Ran felt her previous worries about Ming Siwei become a joke. She had even intentionally mentioned Ming Siwei to Ming Siyu, trying to get her to let the sister return.
The reality was that rich people never lived poorly, no matter where they were. He Qiange had told her Ming Siwei was “exiled,” and Liu Ran had naively thought she was suffering, given that Country G’s development lagged behind the Empire’s. To Ming Siwei, it was probably just a change of scenery for a vacation.
Liu Ran, oh Liu Ran, get a grip. You, with no money and no freedom, are the one worth worrying about.
Finally, Secretary Wen asked for leave. She was getting married. Ming Siyu reached out and added a “1” to the request, changing it from 7 days to 17.
“Marriage is a major event; there’s no need to rush back.” Ming Siyu signed the bottom. “You’ve done excellent work; consider this a reward. Also, remember to pick out a piece of jewelry you like anything under seven figures and bring me the receipt for reimbursement. Consider it my personal blessing. Go on.”
Secretary Wen excitedly bowed three times, repeating “Thank you, Director Ming.” She mentioned that while she was away, her duties would be handled by another secretary, Secretary Zhou.
Under the desk, Liu Ran’s thoughts grew darker as she listened. Ming Siyu wasn’t a “villain” in the traditional, pure sense. Through observation, Liu Ran found that Ming Siyu was actually very good to some people He Qiange could joke with her freely, and she was generous with her employees. As long as the work was good, she never held back on rewards.
Ming Siyu was only cruel to her.
For no reason, from the very first moment they met, Ming Siyu had been full of malice toward her. The more Liu Ran tried to be a human, the more Ming Siyu dedicated herself to turning her into a dog.
The methods were nothing short of cruel: playing with her sensitive spots to force a physiological response, while simultaneously humiliating her and treading her into the dirt.
Thinking of this, Liu Ran opened her mouth and bit down hard on Ming Siyu’s calf. Her canines were actually very sharp; she had just been hiding them, afraid of hurting someone.
Ming Siyu kicked her away in pain. Two streaks of bright red blood immediately trickled down her pale calf.
Liu Ran also tasted the metallic sweetness of the blood.
She crawled out from under the desk and wiped her lips, the blood staining her pale pink mouth into a vivid, striking red. Ming Siyu stared at her in disbelief. Propping herself up against the desk, Ming Siyu didn’t even look at the wound on her leg. Behind her lenses, a storm was gathering in her dark eyes.
“Liu Ran, what is wrong with you?”
Liu Ran had reached her breaking point. Since it had come to this, she decided to speak her mind.
“In your eyes, as long as I don’t obey you, it’s my fault—I’m the ‘sick’ one. I think the one who’s actually sick is you, Ming Siyu!”
“You don’t care about anything I say. You don’t care how miserable my body and heart feel after you toy with me whenever you want. All you know is how to give me suppressants! Even people who keep dogs don’t act like you!”
“Ming Siyu, you are a rotten person. Thoroughly rotten!”
Having vented her fury, Liu Ran turned to leave. Just as she turned, she stomped back.
“Oh, are you going to threaten me with a kiss again? Fine, kiss me! You think that’s some sophisticated tactic?”
Without another word, she grabbed Ming Siyu’s shoulders and bit down hard on those lips that always spat out daggers.
