Be Good, Let Me Kiss You One More Time - Chapter 1
Chapter 1: Who is This Ferocious Man?
Lu Miao clutched a wine bottle, preparing to smash it over Wang Mingcheng’s head.
With a loud bang, the VIP booth door was kicked open.
A man looked inside from the doorway, walked straight up to Lu Miao, grabbed her by the collar, and lifted her off the ground.
His gaze was dark and sharp as he scanned the face of the fuming Lu Miao. In a deep voice, he asked, “Why are you hitting him?”
Lu Miao was drunk. When asked for the reason, a surge of bitterness hit her nose. With reddened eyes, she glared at Wang Mingcheng. “He’s seeing another woman behind my back!”
The man’s cold, dark eyes narrowed slightly. He glanced at the boy scurrying away with his head in his hands, then turned back to Lu Miao, his tone teasing. “How old are you, trying to act like an adult playing at love?”
Lu Miao had felt quite aggrieved, but hearing this, her tears were instantly forced back. She turned her head to look at the man in confusion. “What does it have to do with you?”
She had thought it was a bouncer coming to break up the fight, but looking closely now, no bouncer could have such a superior face.
The man had a heavy bone structure, short-cropped cool black hair, and features that were cold and handsome. His pitch-black eyes were filled with aggression.
He wore a black training uniform with broad, straight shoulders and a waist that tapered down. His trousers were tucked into black combat boots, making his tall frame appear rugged and upright. His entire presence exuded an intimidating, sharp aura.
“How long have you two been together?” the man suddenly asked.
Because his gaze was too oppressive and chilling, Lu Miao subconsciously answered, “Since last week… I think?”
She wasn’t very sure herself.
The man nodded slightly. “Still salvageable.”
Still salvageable? What does that mean?
From childhood to now, the thing she had heard most was the people around her shaking their heads and sighing: Lu Miao? She’s a lost cause.
He commanded her again: “Give me the bottle.”
Seeing this man exuding an aura of justice like a police officer, she instinctively hid the “weapon” behind her back. “What for?”
“Give it to me.”
When Lu Miao refused, the man simply snatched it from her hand.
“Hey, stay out of—”
With a smash, he turned and slammed the bottle onto Wang Mingcheng’s head. It was clean and decisive; the head split open instantly.
Lu Miao’s eyes widened, and she sobered up in a flash.
Blood stained Wang Mingcheng’s face. The man pressed the jagged half of the bottle against Wang Mingcheng’s neck. “Stay far away from her. If you disgust her again, I’ll slit your throat. Understand?”
Wang Mingcheng collapsed onto the sofa in terror. His face was covered in blood, but he didn’t dare wipe it. Trembling, he replied, “Under… understood!”
Smack! The remaining half of the bottle also hit Wang Mingcheng’s head, knocking him unconscious.
The man reined in his violent aura and turned to look at Lu Miao, his voice remaining deep and magnetic. “Feel better now?”
Lu Miao was completely stunned by the scene, frozen in place for a long time without a reaction.
“If you feel better, go home like a good girl.”
He raised the hand that had just struck someone and pinched the back of Lu Miao’s neck.
There was still wine residue on his hand; it was icy cold, making Lu Miao shiver.
“You, you, you…” Whether out of fear or something else, her tongue was tied. “You’re just… leaving him here?”
Though the scumbag deserved to die, this man actually dared to strike! What if someone died?
“None of your concern. You only need to worry about yourself.”
Seeing she was frightened, the man picked her up like a little chick and hauled her out of the booth.
The bar manager was waiting outside. Seeing them emerge, he immediately bowed and scraped, his face full of smiles. “Captain Fu, are you finished with your business?”
“Handle the rest.”
The manager peeked into the booth and saw a person lying on the ground. He shivered and waved for someone to call an ambulance immediately.
Usually, the manager wouldn’t be this alarmed by a brawl, but meeting this “Lord” was a different matter.
This was the eldest grandson of the Fu family, a clan with generations of background in commerce and politics: Fu Shiyue.
He was a leading figure among border operations special forces, having served for eight years with the blood of countless people on his hands. He was decisive and ruthless; if someone fought him, they were lucky to keep a single breath of life.
For some unknown reason, he had suddenly returned tonight. It was said he came to the bar straight from the airport.
“Are you still staying to play? I’ll change you to a cleaner booth, all expenses waived.” The manager followed his pace respectfully, not daring to be slow.
“Remember this face.”
Fu Shiyue pinched Lu Miao’s cheek, his sidelong glance cold as it swept over the manager. “If you let her in again, I’ll shut down your shop.”
The manager shrunk his neck and looked guiltily at Lu Miao. “Ah, yes, I’ll remember.”
…
“Who are you? Why did you interfere just now? Did you hear me speaking… Hey!”
Once out of the bar, Lu Miao finally regained her senses. She shouted all the way, but the man didn’t answer a single word.
He forced her over to a Land Rover, opened the door, and stuffed her inside.
Lu Miao was a bit panicked. “Where are you taking me? If you keep this up, I’m calling the police—mph!”
Fu Shiyue pinched her chin and shoved a white pill into her mouth.
A sour and bitter taste instantly spread through her mouth.
Shocked, Lu Miao tried to spit it out, but the man’s rough fingers quickly pinched her mouth shut. He warned in a low voice, “Don’t spit it out.”
Lu Miao met his oppressive gaze and swallowed with a gulp. Only then did he release her and lean down to fasten her seatbelt.
She asked anxiously, “What did you just give me?”
The man didn’t respond. She suddenly sat up and pushed him hard, trying to escape the car.
A force pulled her back, pinning her firmly into the seat.
“Behave.”
Lu Miao’s shoulder was nearly crushed by the man’s large hand. She couldn’t help but cry out in pain, “It hurts, let me go!”
Fu Shiyue loosened his grip and looked up coldly. “Still want to run?”
“You shoved poison into my mouth…”
He gave a low scoff. “Sobriety pills won’t kill you.”
Sobriety pills?
Lu Miao paused and blinked, seemingly unable to believe he would be so kind.
Fu Shiyue didn’t explain further. He pulled down the seatbelt beside her and clicked it shut. Then he walked around the front of the car, got in, and closed the door.
Lu Miao turned to watch him start the car, asking seriously, “Where are you taking me?”
Feeling the young girl’s hostile gaze, he stared straight ahead. “Your uncle asked me to take you back.”
“My uncle?” Lu Miao clearly didn’t believe him. “He’s been missing for half a month.”
“He went abroad.”
“Why should I believe you?”
Fu Shiyue pulled out a phone. Lu Miao glanced at it but didn’t reach for it.
Seeing her face full of vigilance, he dialed the number directly and tossed the phone onto the dashboard.
Connected via Bluetooth, Lu Yan’s voice filled the car.
“Hello.”
“Your niece is looking for you.”
“Miao Miao? What do you want?” Lu Yan’s voice was hoarse, as if he had just woken up.
Lu Miao knit her brows. “Lu Yan, what’s going on with you? Where are you?”
Lu Yan was used to her lack of respect and said lazily, “Sorry, Miao Miao. Uncle has to be stationed at the overseas company for a while. I wasn’t comfortable leaving you home alone, so I asked a friend to look after you. He’s already picked you up, right?”
Lu Miao glanced at the man beside her, her tone very hard. “I’m an adult. I don’t need looking after.”
“Miao Miao, be good. Before your parents passed away, they entrusted you to me. It’s my fault for not teaching you well, which made you so willful, staying out late and not going home.”
“This friend of Uncle’s came from the military; he’s just the right person to handle you. Speaking of which, he’s actually your…”
