Back to My Human’s Teenage Years - Chapter 28
Under Jin Manman’s “absolute suppression,” Shi Rang could only lower the boy from his shoulders with a stony face.
Jin Manman was initially a bit wilted after being scolded, but at the thought of his grades, he immediately started bouncing with joy. “Dean! I made it into the top four hundred!”
The Dean of Students had already seen the results. He had been quite satisfied at first, thinking the little orange cat was a fast learner, but he never expected Jin Manman to give him such a shocking surprise right after.
He grit his teeth and glared at Jin Manman. “Come to my office! I have things to ask you!”
Jin Manman was very obedient and nodded quickly to follow. Beside him, Shi Rang lifted his eyes lazily, intending to follow as well.
The Dean snapped, “You don’t need to come. I’m speaking to Jin Manman alone.”
Alone?!
Is he going to scold him until he cries again??
Shi Rang narrowed his eyes, his voice turning icy. “No. I share a dorm with Jin Manman now. There’s nothing you can say that I can’t hear.”
The little orange cat, caught between the two of them, was sweating with anxiety. Forget it, forget it!!
He pulled Shi Rang back, looking up at him and saying seriously, “Can you not be so clingy?”
Shi Rang was rendered speechless by his anger. He pointed a finger at Jin Manman. “Fine! You do you! Just don’t come crying to me afterward to vent your frustrations!”
His words were harsh, but once Jin Manman disappeared into the office, Shi Rang couldn’t help but linger at the door, waiting for him.
Inside, the Dean looked grave. “Tell me. How far have you two gone?”
The little orange cat was so startled his ears almost popped out. He stammered, “We’ve… already become brothers.”
The next step should be getting married.
The Dean was stunned. What does that mean? Could I have really misunderstood?
He looked Jin Manman up and down, asking suspiciously, “Does he bully you?” After all, Shi Rang’s reputation was poor, and the little orange cat looked… a bit dim-witted.
Jin Manman shook his head frantically. “No, no!”
“Does he order you to bring him tea or water?”
“No! Shi Rang is always the one pouring water for me.”
It wasn’t just pouring water; because Jin Manman hated drinking plain water, Shi Rang had to coax and persuade him every day sometimes even getting kicked twice by an impatient Jin Manman for his efforts.
The Dean thought for a moment longer. “He hasn’t made you do his chores, like washing his clothes or anything?”
The little orange cat continued to shake his head. “Shi Rang washes all my clothes.”
After a round of questioning, there was no sign of a cat-person being bullied. Instead, it was a little orange cat riding high on a human’s head and acting like a tyrant.
The Dean’s face turned a shade of “cat-red,” and he cleared his throat. “Jin Manman, do your own work. You can’t always rely on others to help you.”
Shi Rang isn’t ‘others,’ though. But the little orange cat only dared to murmur this in his heart; if he said it out loud, the Dean would surely scold him again.
Just like last time, the moment he stepped out, he ran into Shi Rang waiting by the door. Shi Rang stared intently at Jin Manman; seeing his expression was normal and his eyes weren’t red, he concluded the boy hadn’t cried.
He breathed a small sigh of relief and took Jin Manman’s hand, asking with feigned nonchalance, “What did he say to you?”
Jin Manman pouted so hard he could have hung a water bottle from his lip. “He told me not to let you pour my water or wash my clothes anymore.”
Shi Rang nearly exploded with rage on the spot.
This is unacceptable! He only had these few “perks” left, and now they were being stripped away? He stared coldly at Jin Manman. “And you? What do you think?”
Jin Manman felt a bit guilty. He looked down at his toes and whispered, “Can we just… do it secretly?”
Shi Rang’s mood shifted from gloom to sunshine instantly. His heart felt light, and the corners of his mouth twitched upward. “So you also think my service is good, hmm?”
Jin Manman nodded like a little chick pecking at grain. The “cat master” was being served very comfortably, indeed.
Shi Rang reached out a long arm, pulling the boy into his embrace and gently squeezing his shoulder. He spoke in a leisurely, deliberate tone. “Jin Manman, you’re so delicate. There are many things you just can’t do on your own.”
Hearing this, the little orange cat was a bit indignant at first.
But then Shi Rang continued, “Can you wake up early to dress yourself and brush your teeth? Can you remember to drink water? Can you blow-dry your own hair after a shower? Can you wash your own socks?”
The little orange cat’s mouth fell open into a perfect ‘O’.
When he lived alone at the beginning, he could do all those things. But after living with Shi Rang, he had been pampered into a state where he basically lived with his hands out for clothes and his mouth open for food.
They say it’s hard to go from luxury back to simplicity. To ask the kitten to go back to doing everything himself… wasn’t that just bullying a little orange cat!!
He shook his head in a panic. “I can’t!”
Shi Rang’s lips curved. He said with total satisfaction, “Exactly. So just be good and let me serve you, okay?”
The little orange cat was completely brainwashed. “Okay, okay!”
He was lured into such a daze that by that evening, he let himself be stripped bare and hauled into the bathroom by Shi Rang.
The little orange cat finally felt a flicker of panic. “I wash myself.”
Shi Rang narrowed his eyes, sounding displeased. “What did you say today? Didn’t you say my service was good? Why is it not okay for me to give you a bath now?”
Jin Manman stammered for a long time, but in that short span, even his last pair of underwear was pulled down by Shi Rang. The little orange cat was startled, his hands frantically covering himself.
“No, no, no…”
“No what?” Shi Rang feigned impatience, though his eyes were practically burning as they remained fixed on Jin Manman.
Shi Rang intentionally misinterpreted the boy’s protests, knitting his brows. “It’s not okay to not wash. Who taught you to be so unhygienic? How can you sleep without a bath?!”
“Raise your arms!”
Dazed by Shi Rang’s scolding, the little orange cat instinctively obeyed, raising his arms. With that, everything was on full display.
Shi Rang’s gaze flickered downward repeatedly, and his lips curved in a barely perceptible smile. Jin Manman was actually quite well-behaved during the bath—he raised his arms and legs whenever he was told.
Until Shi Rang’s hand moved lower.
The little orange cat’s eyes went wide, and he frantically pressed his legs together.
Shi Rang’s tone was perfectly flat, devoid of emotion. “Open up. I need to wash here too.”
As a little orange cat, it was no big deal—after all, there wasn’t a part of his body Shi Rang hadn’t seen. But as a human, it was different. He instinctively felt a sense of shame, whimpering and refusing to comply as he tried to back away. “I’ll wash that part myself.”
Shi Rang wouldn’t have it. He urged, “Hurry up. We’ve washed the rest, this part needs it too. Jin Manman, do you care about being clean or not?”
Of course, of course! He was the cleanest kitten in the world!
Under the weight of that question, Jin Manman finally withdrew his hands, looking utterly aggrieved. In their place came Shi Rang’s large hand.
He put on a grand, stoic front, calmly applying lather, while in reality, he was restlessly brushing over the area again and again.
The little orange cat tried to dodge his hand, stepping back quietly, only to be met with a smack on his rear from Shi Rang.
“Stop moving around while I’m washing you.”
The force wasn’t much, but because they were wet, the sound was incredibly loud.
The little orange cat was both shamed and embarrassed, his eyes turning red as he glared at Shi Rang in accusation. “Why did you hit me!”
He didn’t expect Shi Rang to apologize so smoothly.
“I’m sorry.”
“I’ll rub it for you.”
At first, the boy didn’t feel anything was wrong. His head was a bit foggy—whether it was from the steam or something else, his thinking had become sluggish.
Wait… why did Shi Rang hit him on the butt… but rub him in the front?
The boy lifted his head, his amber eyes clouded with a layer of mist.
“Shi Rang. it’s, it’s a bit hot.”
Shi Rang is playing a very dangerous game!
