- Chapter 3 - Force Kiss
When Nüwa created humans, did she arrange a VIP pass for Qiao Bo’er? No, wait, she belongs to Western mythology.
Which deity was so biased that they gave her special treatment, essentially applying a beauty filter directly to her face? That’s just too much, isn’t it?
Ling Xi’s mind was racing, her beautiful willow-leaf eyes wide and round as she momentarily lost herself in the sight.
Qiao Bo’er’s mouth curved into a cunning arc. She tilted her head and leaned closer, her leisurely, teasing tone full of mischief: “Miss Ling… am I that good-looking?”
Ling Xi lightly coughed, masking her lapse, and pulled back, returning to the matter at hand: “Miss Qiao, our studio insures appraised collectibles. I assume you have also insured your precious item?”
“And so?”
“How about we wait for the insurance adjuster to assess the damage and issue the calculation statement, and then we discuss the compensation amount and repayment method? How does that sound?”
Hearing Ling Xi’s solution, Qiao Bo’er leaned back in her chair and scoffed, finally revealing her unpleasant side.
The studio employees, not wanting to miss out, crowded outside the door to watch the show. After all, two beautiful women of completely different styles were sitting in the room, and everyone wanted a good look.
Qiao Bo’er crossed her arms over her chest, staring directly at Ling Xi, and retorted sarcastically: “My time is very valuable. Forget waiting a day; even waiting one more hour here will result in losses beyond your imagination.”
“In that case, Miss Qiao is welcome to propose your own ideas. As long as they are compliant and reasonable, we can always reach an agreement.”
“I won’t be outrageous; I’ll settle for the appraised value, halved to $3.5 million for compensation. A lump-sum payment, and everything is settled, deal?” Qiao Bo’er casually raised an eyebrow, wearing an expression that suggested $3.5 million was a trifling sum.
In fact, she knew very well that her asking price looked reasonable but would never be accepted by Ling Xi, and being rejected was exactly the effect she was aiming for.
“With all due respect, that is unreasonable.” Ling Xi remained outwardly calm, but internally, she was cursing up a storm. $3.5 million? Just hand me a knife and stab me; I’d rather pay with my life.
Qiao Bo’er spread her hands and shrugged, easily snapping back: “Then let’s go to court.”
Ling Xi wasn’t one to be intimidated. Since the other party was being so hard-nosed, she stopped speaking softly: “Legal proceedings are not out of the question, provided Miss Qiao is willing to spare her precious time.”
“Hmph. Can a studio like yours, which relies on reputation, withstand a lawsuit?” Qiao Bo’er precisely pinpointed Ling Xi’s Achilles’ heel, her smile growing more unsettling: “However… I’ve thought of a better idea.”
Ling Xi instinctively felt Qiao Bo’er was setting a trap, but she had no choice but to take the bait. “Please do tell.”
“How about… you compensate me…” Qiao Bo’er tapped Ling Xi’s chin with her fingertip and leaned slightly closer, a look of eager anticipation glittering in her beautiful eyes.
The distance between them maintained a certain propriety yet was undeniably ambiguous, the flirtation perfectly executed by this seductive woman.
The sudden closeness brought with it a fragrant scent that threw Ling Xi into a panic.
The scent that enveloped Qiao Bo’er was a restless entanglement of neroli oil and green mandarin. In the end, a note of cedarwood abruptly intruded, like a rich yet contradictory freshness suddenly emerging in a hot, restless early summer.
It was an olfactory feast at her nostrils, a green, spicy, and cool touch that stirred someone’s heart.
In a brief moment of daze, Ling Xi nearly succumbed to the deceptive temptation.
This outrageous gesture instantly caused an uproar outside the door.
No way! Could this woman read minds? Was she serious about demanding my life as collateral? It made no sense; of all things to ask for, she demanded a person, Ling Xi muttered, her face flushed with discomfort.
“Heh. I’ve seen plenty of people try to extort money, but this is the first time I’ve seen someone demand a contract of servitude. I am far more valuable than your precious item. I’m afraid I’m overpriced.” Gently brushing aside Qiao Bo’er’s restless hand, Ling Xi’s attitude suddenly became sharp as she began to counter the move.
However, Qiao Bo’er’s negotiation combat value was above hers: “Isn’t an overprice even better? You pay the compensation and make a profit on the side—two birds with one stone. Where else are you going to find a deal this good?”
As soon as she finished speaking, Qiao Bo’er stood up with an imposing presence that was impossible to resist.
She firmly braced one hand on the edge of the desk and slightly bent her slender waist, essentially trapping Ling Xi in her embrace, easily breaking through the fragile boundaries between them.
The seductive, rich scent on her body rushed into Ling Xi’s nasal cavity like a gale, sweeping away her thoughts and directly overwhelming her.
Ling Xi leaned her head back strategically until her back was pressed hard against the table, leaving her with nowhere left to retreat. But she couldn’t escape the gaze of those deep, starlike eyes.
Qiao Bo’er suddenly took charge, firmly gripping her chin, and delivered an unexpected, highly invasive kiss, deeply pressing against Ling Xi’s lips, savoring them and leaving a sexy red lip print.
Oh no, oh no, OMG, why did my brain short-circuit?!
Ling Xi’s eyes widened, her pupils violently shaking. The electric tingle was like ripples on a lake, wave after wave, yet her body was stiff, like an immobile stone statue.
This kiss completely stole her soul.
Feeling unsatisfied, Qiao Bo’er licked the corner of her lips with a provocative look, completely ignoring the flustered, slow-to-recover kitten, and brazenly mocked: “The lip print is placed; consider the collateral effective.”
Two women, both of exceptional beauty, spontaneously staged a passionate kiss. Who could maintain composure in the face of such a beautiful, alluring sight?
Instantly, the crowd outside the door began to stir again—
“Oh my God, what kind of drama is this?”
“Ship this couple! Everyone, start shipping!”
“Hiss, isn’t this better than a novel?!”
“…Being forcefully kissed in front of a crowd of employees by this crazy woman, with absolutely no defense.
Ling Xi’s face turned red all the way to her earlobes, as if she had an alcohol allergy. Who was it earlier who thought this woman resembled mellow wine? Now they’ve been proven utterly wrong.
Ling Xi was socially dead, completely dead. Her status as the young boss was now precarious.
“Slap!”
The unexpected kiss was met with an equally unexpected slap. It was truly a back-and-forth exchange, with neither side willing to lose face.
Ling Xi, who was usually so emotionally placid, was experiencing a stress-induced reaction.
The speed with which she delivered the slap suggested she had practiced, and the force was astonishing.
A jarring, bright red five-finger mark instantly appeared on Qiao Bo’er’s fair, smooth, beautiful face, looking quite chilling.
Hitting a client could bring down a curse—how was she going to resolve this?
Qiao Bo’er rubbed her stinging, hot cheek, suppressing the rage that was about to erupt. The extreme fury ultimately transformed into a scornful laugh, but her expression was gloomy, and a cold light glinted in her beautiful, jewel-like eyes, making people shiver.
Ling Xi gritted her teeth and exploded: “You’re insane… are you crazy from wanting a woman?”
Qiao Bo’er didn’t intend to waste any more time. She picked up her handbag from the side and paused deliberately as she brushed past Ling Xi, leaning in to whisper a threat: “Dare to hit me? Believe me, I can ruin you.”
Outside the door, there was non-stop chatter; inside, the air was thick with tension.
Qiao Bo’er’s aura was intimidating, and the watching employees quickly stepped aside. She swayed her figure and swaggered away.
It had always been Ling Xi who infuriated others, but today she had met a truly formidable opponent.
Watching Qiao Bo’er’s back disappear from sight, Ling Xi clenched her fists, holding her breath to try and quell the surging anger in her heart, but the more she thought about it, the angrier she became, trembling all over.
To stabilize her emotions, she began to nervously murmur: “Who gets angry gets hurt. Anger harms the liver and causes internal heat. Internal heat causes pimples. Pimples make you ugly… My Buddha does not save the deranged… My Buddha does not save the deranged…”
